Analyses on the Perception's Differences of Online Teaching Activity according to the Level of Self-Directed Learning in Higher Education Using the IPA Technique

  • The purpose of this study was to identify learners' perception of teaching activities in online classes that were forcibly switched due to COVID-19, and to compare and analyze differences in importance and performance of online teaching activities according to the level of self-directed learning in university students. To address these goals, 31 university students who took courses operated as online classes at university participated in this study, and the collected data were analyzed according to IPA procedures and methods. As a result, for online teaching activities, class attendance check and encouragement, clarity of class objectives, the ability to deliver the content of learning, and the ability of the instructor to deliver lectures were identified as factors to be constantly emphasized. Depending on the level of self-directed learning, there were significant differences between importance and performance in high level learners' interaction strategy with instructor, interaction strategy with learner, and timely provision of instructor's feedback. On the other hand, there was no significant difference between the importance and performance of online teaching activities for learners with a low level of self-directed learning. Based on these research results, several implications for the design of effective online teaching activities in future university education were proposed.

  • 본 연구에서는 협동적인 CAI와 개별적인 CAI가 중학생들의 과학 개념, 학업 성취도, 수업 환경에 대한 인식, 그리고 학습동기에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 중학교 3개 학급을 대상으로 분자 운동 단원에 대해 5차시 동안 협동적 CAI, 개별적 CAI, 전통적 수업을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 개념, 수업 환경에 대한 인식, 학습동기 검사에서 협동학습 집단의 평균이 전통적 수업 집단에 비해 유의미하게 높았으며, 개념의 파지 검사에서 협동학습 집단의 개념 이해도가 더 높게 나타났다. 또한, 개념의 파지 및 학습동기 검사에서 수업 처치와 사전 성취 수준 사이의 상호작용 효과가 있었다. 이에 대한 교육학적 함의를 논의하였다.

인포그래픽 학습 자료에 대한 초등 교사들의 인식 (Elementary School Teachers' Perception on Infographics learning materials)

  • 본 연구는 인포그래픽 학습 자료에 대한 초등 교사들의 인식을 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 인포그래픽 인지 여부, 인포그래픽 학습 자료 개발의 필요성, 인포그래픽을 활용한 과학 수업에 관한 내용으로 구성된 설문지를 제작하였고, 초등교사 300명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 연구결과 초등 교사의 대부분은 인포그래픽을 접해본 적이 없고, 수업 중에 활용한 적이 없다고 하였다. 활용한 적이 있는 경우에는 주로 사회, 과학 교과에서 활용하였다고 응답하였으며, 수업의 전개 단계에서 사용되었다. 인포그래픽 학습 자료 개발의 필요성 부분에서는 현재 초등학교 수업 자료로 활용 할 수 있는 인포그래픽 양의 많지 않다고 인식하고 있으며, 실제로 활용할 수 있는 인포그래픽 학습 자료가 필요하다고 하였다. 인포그래픽 학습 자료가 가장 많이 활용될 수 있는 과목은 사회, 과학 교과이며, 초등학교 3-4학년부터 적용하는 것이 가장 바람직하다고 응답하였다. 인포그래픽 학습 자료를 활용한 과학 수업에서 학습 자료를 제시하기에 가장 적합한 부분은 본 차시 수업 단계이며, 과학적 개념을 이해하기 위한 목적으로 사용되어야 한다고 인식하고 있다. 또한 인포그래픽 학습 자료를 활용한 교육이 성공적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 인포그래픽 학습 자료를 활용한 교육 자료의 개발이 선행되어야 한다고 인식하고 있다.

예비 전역자의 노후생활인식이 노후설계준비에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Veterans' Perception of Old age on the Preparation for Old Age Plan)

  • 본 연구는 급속한 한국의 인구 고령화로 노후설계의 필요성이 증대되고 있음에도 불구하고 사회와 다소 소외되어 있는 군인을 대상으로 노후생활인식이 노후설계준비에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 차이는 2개 영역(경제적 여가)의 노후설계준비에서 계급, 학력, 종교, 가정구성에서 유의한 차이를 보였으나 신체적 영역에서는 재산만이 유의한 차이를 보여 군 특성이 반영된 결과를 나타냈다. 예비 전역자의 노후생활인식이 노후설계준비에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지의 연구에서는 노후생활인식을 '성공적인 노후생활의 인식'과 '노후에 예상되는 문제점 인식'으로 상반된 개념의 두 가지 요인을 적용한 결과, 이들은 2개 영역(경제적 여가)의 노후설계준비에 정(+)의 영향을 주는 요인이었으나 신체적 영역에서는 유의하지 않았다. 전직지원교육 학습활동의 조절효과는 노후생활인식 중 '예상되는 문제점 인식'에 조절효과가 나타났으나 '성공노년 인식'요인에는 나타나지 않았다.

자발적 학습에서 개인특성과 주관적 규범이 e-learning 수용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Individual Characteristics and Subject Norm on User Acceptance of e-Learning for Voluntary Studies)

  • E-learning becomes an important part of education these days in Korea. Students had no choice but to accept the e-learning when the e-learning was used as a supplementary learning tool within a traditional class or a stand-alone distance education. This study focuses on the students' intention of e-learning acceptance for voluntary studies. In voluntary study, students have the rights to adopt the e-learning or not for their personal study. We used individual characteristics as the external variables of TAM to explain user acceptance of e-learning for voluntary studies and examined the effect of individual characteristics on user's beliefs. Research model and nine hypotheses were set up to identify the relationships among these variables based on investigations of previous researches. The theoretical model is tested with questionnaires from 420 users who accept e-learning for voluntary studies. We tested the measurement and research models by applying a structural equation modeling(SEM) approach, using the AMOS 5.0. Overall, the results provided support for the model as explaining acceptance of an e-learning system. Most path coefficients in the research model were found statistically significant. The results showed usefulness and enjoyment and subject norm were the factors affecting attitude of students using e-learning. In addition, usefulness and subject norm were the factors affecting intention of students using e-learning. The results show innovation and self-efficacy have a significant impact on user's perception of ease of use. Self-efficacy also have significant effects on user's perception of usefulness.

수학적 모델링 수업에 대한 초등 교사의 인식 (Prospective Teachers' Perception of Mathematical Modeling in Elementary Class)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 수학적 모델링 수업에 대한 초등교사의 인식을 질적으로 분석하는 것으로, 40명의 현직 교사들이 참여하였다. 참여 교사들은 수학적 모델링에 대한 이론을 습득하고, 실제 교실수업에 적용하는 것을 목적으로 교수 학습 과정 안을 개발하고 적용하며 그 결과를 분석한 보고서를 작성하였다. 이 보고서에 대한 분석을 통해서 초등 교사의 인식을 분석한 결과, 수학적 모델링의 특징으로 '비구조화된 상황'과 '다양한 문제해결'을 도출할 수 있었으나 수학적 모델링 관점은 다소 차이가 있어 네 가지 형태로 분류할 수 있었다. 수학적 모델링 수업에 대한 어려움은 크게 과제, 학생의 인지적 활동, 교사의 중재, 모든 학생의 참여, 교실 문화 범주로 구체화하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 수학적 모델링 수업에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

Perception on Plagiarism among Faculty Members and Research Scholars in Higher Educational Institutions of Dindigul District: A Study

  • These papers surveyed the respondents' Awareness and perception of Plagiarism among the Faculty members and research scholars of higher educational institutions in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu. The 500 questionnaires were distributed among the participants, 456 questionnaires were filled and returned for usable by the respondents and remaining not replied. The responses rate is 91.2%. Further among 222 Male re- spondents, 11.18% of them are having Aware, 10.75% of them in Learning, 10.53% are with Fair and 76(16.23%) of them are Expert. Similarly out of 234 Female respondents, 16.45% of them has No Idea, 7.02% of them have Aware, 10.09% of them in Learning, 8.99% are with Fair and 8.77% of them are Expert.

일부 보건계열 학생들의 VR 학습매체 활용 인식에 대한 연구 (Awareness of health science students' use of virtual reality devices for learning)

  • Background: This study was aimed at surveying the health science students' interest, demand, and awareness of virtual reality (VR) devices for learning to accumulate data necessary to develop and implement a curriculum with VR devices. Methods: We investigated the perception of health science students regarding VR device application and utilization. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 25.0 (IBM SPSS Statistics). Frequency and descriptive analyses were performed for the perception level of VR device use for university education. An independent twosamples t-test was performed to statistically analyze the perception level according to the VR device experience. A p-value < 0.05 was set to indicate statistical significance. Results: To the question "Do you wish to use VR devices for educational purposes?," 73% of the participants answered "yes." To the question "Do you think VR is necessary for the course curriculum?," over 65% answered "yes." Conclusion: In this study, health science students reported a great need for VR devices for education. VR-based classroom curriculum is expected to improve students' concentration, interest, and motivation.

구조화된 입력처리 문법지도에 대한 학습자의 인식과 효과 (Korean EFL learners' perception and the effects of structured input processing)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate what kinds of learning strategies EFL learners use to learn English grammar and what is benefit from structured grammar input processing. Students of the study consisted of 48 college students who took Practical English Grammar at a university in Kyung-Gi area and were divided into two groups based on grammar scores. The students were asked to take two grammar tasks and grammar tests and complete a survey including questions on grammar strategy and input processing. The results of the study are as follows. First, learners' grammar level has an effect on use of grammar attack strategy including asking teachers, using grammar books and given contexts whereas there was no significant difference between groups in the planning strategies, Among memory strategies, using grammar exercise and linking with already known structure demonstrated a significant difference between groups. Second, with regard to input processing, high level students got higher score on how much they understood the structured grammar input compared with low level students. Third, explicit implicit instruction added to input processing seems more comprehensible and more available than structured input only, Finally, it showed that there is positive relationship between perception and score of input processing tasks and grammar tests. Especially, learners' perception of input processing correlated more with final tests and tasks. Therefore, it suggests that the more input processing task need to develop and utilize in order to facilitate learners' intake.

An Inference Similarity-based Federated Learning Framework for Enhancing Collaborative Perception in Autonomous Driving

  • Autonomous vehicles use onboard sensors to sense the surrounding environment. In complex autonomous driving scenarios, the detection and recognition capabilities are constrained, which may result in serious accidents. An efficient way to enhance the detection and recognition capabilities is establishing collaborations with the neighbor vehicles. However, the collaborations introduce additional challenges in terms of the data heterogeneity, communication cost, and data privacy. In this paper, a novel personalized federated learning framework is proposed for addressing the challenges and enabling efficient collaborations in autonomous driving environment. For obtaining a global model, vehicles perform local training and transmit logits to a central unit instead of the entire model, and thus the communication cost is minimized, and the data privacy is protected. Then, the inference similarity is derived for capturing the characteristics of data heterogeneity. The vehicles are divided into clusters based on the inference similarity and a weighted aggregation is performed within a cluster. Finally, the vehicles download the corresponding aggregated global model and train a personalized model which is personalized for the cluster that has similar data distribution, so that accuracy is not affected by heterogeneous data. Experimental results demonstrate significant advantages of our proposed method in improving the efficiency of collaborative perception and reducing communication cost.
