학교 급식소 위생관리에 대한 영양사와 학부모의 견해 비교 분석 (A Comparison of Opinions between Dietitians and Students' Parents on Sanitation Management in School Foodservice Operations)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the gap in perceived importance-performance between dietitians and parents regarding school foodservice sanitation practices, to establish a plan for improving the school foodservice monitoring that is conducted by parents. A survey was given using questionnaires and was distributed to 31 school foodservice dietitians and to parents who attended sanitation education in October 2006. All statistical analyses were conducted using the SAS package program(version 8.2 for Windows) for descriptive analysis, t-test, and importance-performance analysis(IPA). The results of the IPA showed the following areas as improvement priorities: (1) contracting with a reliable suppliers, (2) securing proper refrigerator and freezer capacity and checking temperatures, (3) adequate design and construction of foodservice facilities and equipment, and (4) ensuring trays and utensils are clean, dry, and stored in a way that prevents contamination. The results of the IPA illustrated that school foodservice dietitians performed well in 8 out of the 21 sanitation management items. The perceived importance by parents was higher than by dietitians for accurate record keeping and documentation of HACCP worksheets(p<0.01), appropriate cleaning plans and practices(p<0.05), garbage management of inner kitchens (p<0.05), and garbage management of external kitchens(p<0.05). On the other hands, the perceived importance by dietitians was higher than that of parents for contracting with a reliable suppliers(p<0.05) and adequate design and construction of foodservice facilities and equipment(p<0.01). According to the performance analysis there were significant differences between dietitians and parents in six out of the twenty-one items. For these six items, the evaluated degree of performance by parents was higher than that of dietitians. In conclusion, proper education programs should be planned and regularly performed for the student's patents who take part in school foodservice monitoring in order to improve on their monitoring.

호스피스자원봉사자가 지각한 호스피스자원봉사자 활동의 중요도 및 수행도 (The Importance and Performance of Hospice Volunteer's Activities Perceived by Hospice Volunteers)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 호스피스자원봉사자가 지각한 자원봉사자 활동의 중요도 및 수행도를 파악하고자 수행되었다. 방법: 연구대상은 대구와 경북지역 소재 6개 종합병원의 호스피스 병동 및 호스피스 팀에서 활동하고 있는 자원봉사자 259명이다. 대상자가 지각한 자원봉사자 활동에 대한 중요도 및 수행도 조사를 위해 문헌고찰 및 호스피스자원봉사자 면담을 기초로 작성된 호스피스자원봉사자 활동 목록이 사용되었다. 자료수집 기간은 2007년 9월부터 10월까지였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 12.0을 이용하여 서술통계, T-test, One-way ANOVA와 사후검정으로 Scheffe test, Pearson's product-moment correlation 등으로 분석 하였다. 결과: 호스피스자원봉사자가 지각한 자원봉사활동 중요도의 평균은 3.09점, 수행도는 2.31점으로서 중요도에 비해 수행도가 상대적으로 낮았다. 대상자가 지각한 자원봉사자 활동의 중요도와 수행도에는 유의한 상관관계가 있었다(r=.487, P=.000). 대상자의 종교, 교육수준 및 자원봉사활동 기간에 따라 자원봉사자 활동에 대한 중요도 지각에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 연령, 종교 및 자원봉사활동 기간에 따라 자원봉사활동 수행도에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 결론: 호스피스자원봉사자가 지각한 자원봉사자 활동의 중요도는 높은 수준이었으나 수행도는 여기에 미치지 못하고 있었으며, 일부 자원봉사자의 특성이 호스피스자원봉사자 활동에 대한 중요도 지각과 수행도에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이상과 같은 본 연구의 결과는 호스피스자원봉사자 교육 프로그램 개발 시에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 뿐 아니라 자원봉사자에 대한 효율적 관리에도 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Education satisfaction and self-assessment of competency among new general dentists in Korea

  • Dental education is gradually transitioning to competency-based education system, which aims to help dentists achieve certain core competencies by means of various systems, such as curriculum accreditation. This study examined satisfaction with dental school education and the differences in the perceived importance and self-assessment of competencies among general dentists, in an attempt to propose a desirable direction for dental education. A questionnaire was administered to new general dentists who graduated from a dental school within the past 10 years. The results of the survey were analyzed using the Importance-Performance Analysis to understand differences in dentists' perceptions. Overall satisfaction with education was low in terms of the curriculum's relevance to actual practice and its capacity for cultivating required competencies. Furthermore, many of the respondents strongly perceived the need to improve dental education. Additional investigations into the satisfaction with education showed no difference. Among the seven key competency domains, dentists perceived Health Promotion to be important and also assessed themselves as having high competence. However, regarding the perceived importance of the remaining domains, self-assessment of competence was low for Professionalism, Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Knowledge Base, Information Handling & Critical Thinking, Clinical Information Gathering, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning, and Establishment & Maintenance of Oral Health. The results of this study suggest that a competency-based education model should be developed and incorporated into dental education to set performance standards and to promote systematic self-assessment in order to foster the development of competence in dental students.

Importance-performance analysis of sodium reduction practices by school nutrition teachers and dietitians in the Republic of Korea

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study investigated the importance and performance level of sodium reduction practices in school meal service by school nutrition teachers and dietitians, and compared them according to school level and placement of the school nutrition teacher. SUBJECTS/METHODS: An online survey was conducted with 608 nutrition teachers and dietitians in schools in the Republic of Korea from September 28 to November 12, 2021 (response rate: 57%). The questionnaire comprised 11 items related to sodium reduction practices (purchasing, food preparation and serving, and education). The importance and performance level of each item was rated on a 5-point scale. The mean differences were analyzed using t-tests or one-way analyses of variance and Duncan's post-hoc tests. An importance-performance analysis was performed on sodium reduction practices. RESULTS: Participating in sodium reduction education, sodium reduction education for cooks, and sodium reduction education for students were assessed to have high importance but low performance. Overall, the higher the school level, the lower was the importance level of sodium reduction practices. The performance in kindergartens and elementary schools was higher than that in middle and high schools. The importance in the purchasing category perceived by dietitians was lower as compared to nutrition teachers. In addition, the performance in the purchasing, food preparation and serving, and education categories perceived by dietitians was lower than those of nutrition teachers. CONCLUSION: Sodium reduction education for nutrition teachers and dietitians, cooks, and students should prioritize practicing sodium reduction in school meal service. Specific guidelines for managing sodium reduction at all stages-purchasing, food preparation, and serving-should also be developed. The results could be used as basic data to reduce the sodium content in school meals.

중학교 보건교사와 일반교사의 성교육 중요도와 수행도: Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) 방법을 이용하여 (Perceived Importance and Performance of Sex Education between Health Teachers and General Teachers in Middle Schools: Based on the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA))

  • Purpose: In this study, the research has been conducted on the health teachers and general teachers who are in charge of sexual education in the middle schools to find out their understanding on the degree of importance and degree of performance on key concept of the sex education and then compare their differences in the recognition of sex education which leads to find out the contents and range of capabilities required for the teachers in charge of sex education. Methods: A descriptive research on 77 health teachers and 71 general teachers using IPA and SPSS/WIN was practiced. Results: The result of research showed that there are significant differences in the annual hours for sex education of their schools, the contents of the sex education which was given in the lecture type lesson, and their performance degree. It was also found the distribution of key concepts by differences in IPA matrix. Conclusion: As there are the differences in the performance degree in sex education between health teachers and general teachers in middle school, more specific education for each of them is needed. And the way to reinforce the key concepts, which are found high in perceived importance degree for both health teachers and general teachers, but low in the performance degree should be considered.

중요도-만족도 분석(IPA) 기법을 활용한 노인복지관의 실버 오케스트라 프로그램 평가에 대한 연구 (An Evaluation of Importance and Performance for the Silver Orchestra Program Using IPA)

  • 본 연구는 노인복지관이 운영하는 실버 오케스트라 프로그램의 실천적 개선 방향을 도출하기 위하여 운영 속성에 대한 중요도-만족도 분석(IPA)을 수행하였다. 우리나라의 춘천동부노인복지관이 운영하는 '춘천 실버 오케스트라' 프로그램을 대상으로 실버회원 그룹(N=53)과 프로그램 운영자 그룹(N=32)을 조사 대상자로 선정하였다. '지역사회와의 연계', '예산 운영', '프로그램 운영', '인력 운영', '홍보전략', '프로그램 운영환경'을 포함하는 6개의 평가영역으로 구성된 평가지표를 설계하였다. 그리고 평가영역에 대하여 22개의 평가항목을 구성하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 실버회원 그룹에서는 '인력 운영'이 중요도와 만족도에서 가장 높은 우선순위를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 프로그램 운영자 그룹에서는 '예산 운영'과 '인력 운영'이 중요도와 만족도에서 각각 가장 높은 우선순위를 차지하였다. IPA 매트릭스 분석을 통하여 나타난 연구 결과를 기반으로, 성공적인 프로그램 운영을 위해서는 실버회원 그룹과 프로그램 운영자 그룹의 관점에서 현상유지 및 강화, 집중투자 및 개선, 낮은 우선순위, 그리고 과잉노력 지양으로 영역화된 프로그램 운영 속성에 대해서 서로 차별화된 노력과 관심을 지속적으로 가져야 한다는 시사점을 제공한다.

소비자가 지각하는 간호서비스 질과 괴리에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Nursing Service Quality and Gap Perceived by Consumers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a tool that measures the quality of nursing service, to measure the quality of nursing service perceived by consumers, and to identify the gaps between ideal and actual nursing services. Method: A questionnaire was developed and distributed to 300 people who had been hospitalized in one of six general hospitals with quality of nursing services in five provincial cities in Korea. For data analysis, the SPSS/WIN(ver 10.0) program was used. Result: The 20 attributes included in the instrument of quality of nursing service is abstracted into 2 factors: tangibility and intangibility. In quality analysis, 15 of 20 attributes are minus scores, meaning that those nursing services are perceived as generally low. However among the minus scores' attributes, only two attributes are significant statistically. Gaps between importance and performance of the nursing service exists in 19 among 20 attributes. Conclusion: Nursing service quality (performance-expectation) needs to be improved, and Gaps (importance-performance) reduced. In addition, a tool measuring nursing service quality has to be developed so nurses can deal successfully with the quality and gaps of nursing service perceived by consumers.

항공사 서비스 품질의 중요도와 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Importance and Satisfaction of Airline Service Quality)

  • 본 연구는 승객들이 인식하는 항공사 서비스 품질에 대한 중요도와 만족도가 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 분석하고 이를 통해 궁극적으로 항공사의 서비스 품질 개선을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 목적으로 수행되었다. 항공사 서비스 품질에 대한 중요도와 만족도를 알아보기 위해 중요도-만족도 분석(Importance-performance analysis: IPA)을 이용하였고, 분석결과 한국 국제선 승객이 인지하고 있는 항공사 서비스 품질에 대한 중요도와 만족도는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 IPA 결과 한국을 운항하는 항공사들이 무엇보다도 개선을 위한 집중적인 노력을 기울여야 하는 서비스 요인인 승객들이 중요하게 여기고 있지만 실제로 만족하지 못하는 서비스 요인은 '기내식', '좌석의 안락감', '좌석의 폭과 다리를 뻗는 공간', '탑승수속 서비스'인 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 IPA결과를 토대로 항공사들은 강점과 약점을 파악하고 이를 통해 궁극적으로 항공사의 수익을 극대화 할 수 있는 방안을 세워야 할 것이다.

신생아중환자실 간호사가 인식한 간호업무의 중요도와 수행 자신감 (Analysis of the importance of nursing care and performance confidence perceived by nurses in the neonatal intensive care unit)

  • Purpose: Neonatal nurses are expected to have clinical competency to provide qualified and safe care for high-risk infants. An educational intervention to enhance nurses' clinical competence is often a priority in the nursing field. This study was conducted to explore nurses' perceived importance and performance confidence of nursing care activities in neonatal intensive care units. Methods: One hundred forty-one neonatal nurses from seven hospitals across South Korea participated in the online survey study. The scale of neonatal nursing care activity consisted of 8 subdomains including professional practice (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, education, research, and leadership). The Importance-Performance Matrix was used to analyze the importance of and confident performance in each of the nursing subdomains. Results: Both importance and performance confidence increased as nurses' age (p=.042 and p<.001) and clinical experience (p=.004 and p<.001). Participants scored relatively higher in importance and performance confidence in the professional practice subdomains (assessment, intervention, evaluation), but scored lower in the education and research subdomains. Conclusion: To provide evidence-based nursing care for high-risk infants in neonatal intensive care units, educational interventions should be developed to support nurses based on the findings of the research.

IPA 기법을 활용한 과학영재교육 수혜자들의 교육프로그램에 대한 인식 분석 (An Analysis on the Science Gifted Education Recipients' Perception for Education Program using an Importance-Performance Analysis)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 IPA 기법을 활용하여 과학영재교육 수혜자들이 경험한 교육프로그램의 중요도와 만족도에 대한 인식을 분석하고, 과학영재들의 요구에 맞는 교육프로그램 제공을 위한 개선사항을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 과학영재교육 수혜자 288명을 대상으로 설문 및 심층면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0을 이용하여 교육프로그램에 대한 중요도와 만족도의 차이를 분석하기 위해 대응표본 t-검정을 실시하였고, 교육프로그램 개선 사항을 탐색하기 위해 중요도-만족도 분석(Importance-Performance Analysis; IPA)을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 과학영재교육 수혜자들은 대체로 기존의 영재교육 프로그램에 대한 중요도보다 만족도가 낮게 나타났다. 또한 학교 급에 따라 요구하는 교육프로그램의 유형에 차이가 있었다. 즉, 초등학교 단계일수록 현장견학, 캠프 등 체험 중심의 교육, 중학교 단계는 탐구활동 중심의 교육, 고등학교 단계는 연구 중심의 교육을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 과학영재들의 진로탐색이나 리더십 향상을 위한 교육프로그램은 학교 급에 관계없이 시급하게 개선이 필요한 유형으로 인식하고 있었다. 이 연구는 착수효과를 고려하여 과학영재들이 요구하는 교육프로그램 유형을 분석했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
