  • This study analyzed the impact of various factors on the use-diffusion of smart speakers. 300 survey responses of Chinese consumers were analyzed using structured models. The results show that both autonomy and adaptability had significant impacts on perceived usefulness and perceived easy of use. Multifunctionality and ability to cooperate affected perceived usefulness, while reactivity did not affected perceived usefulness or perceived easy of use. Anthropomorphism increased perceived enjoyment. Both perceived usefulness and perceived easy of use have been identified to improve the use-diffusion of smart speakers. Perceived enjoyment enhanced the variety of use. We expect these results help understand the factors that need to be considered for the design or marketing communication of smart products.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing the intention to use the Metaverse from various angles based on the Extended Technology Acceptance Model and Value-based Adoption Model. Specifically, we examined whether there is a difference in perception of the Metaverse and in factors affecting the intention to use the Metaverse between the Metaverse experienced and non-experienced. For this purpose, the variables were classified into the technical characteristics of the Metaverse (interactivity, content quality), perceived benefits (perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment), and perceived sacrifices (perceived risk, perceived complexity) and a survey was conducted with university students. The findings of this study indicate that the perceived interactivity, usefulness, and enjoyment of the Metaverse had a major impact on the intention to use the Metaverse for those without Metaverse experience, whereas enjoyment of the Metaverse had the greatest impact on the intention to use the Metaverse for those with Metaverse experience. Based on the study results, we provided marketing strategy implications for continuous growth and development of the Metaverse industry.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of nutrition teachers and the factors influencing their intention toward sustainable dietary education utilizing the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Methods: The self-administered online survey was completed by nutrition teachers in Jeollanam-do, South Korea. A total of 151 valid questionnaires were analyzed. Factor analysis and multiple regressions were employed to test the research model. Results: The study findings demonstrated that all TPB variables significantly influenced the sustainable dietary educational intention, with the degree of influence ranking as follows: external perceived behavioral control (β = 0.417), attitude (β = 0.240), internal perceived behavioral control (β = 0.207), and subjective norms (β = 0.181). For external perceived behavioral control, nutrition teachers and elementary schools exhibited higher levels compared to dietitians and middle/high schools, respectively. The participants in sustainable dietary education training programs exhibited a higher level of internal perceived behavioral control compared to those who did not participate. The highest perception levels were reported for attitude (4.26), followed by subjective norms (4.02), internal perceived behavioral control (3.67), and external perceived behavioral control (3.20). Conclusions: This study affirmed that the TPB variables elucidated the sustainable dietary educational intentions of nutrition teachers. The significant impacts of external and internal perceived behavioral control, attitude, and subjective norms on educational intentions were confirmed. Consequently, proactive support from schools and governments is essential to enhance the facilitating factors and mitigate the barriers toward sustainable dietary education in schools.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a lifestyle consisting of a health oriented diet and personal motivation toward health improvement on an individual's desire to participate in condolence or "healing" -workshops and programs. In order to examine the influence of the "health diet" and motivation, the "health diet" lifestyle was classified into nutrition pursuit factors, psychological factors, food safety factors, and health conscious consumption factors. Personal motivation was categorized into perceived benefits, environmental factors and the individual's desire for happiness. Empirical analysis showed that nutrition pursuit factors had an impact on perceived benefits and the desire for happiness. Psychological aspect factors had a significant influence on perceived benefits, environmental factors and the desire for happiness. However, food safety factors and health conscious consumption factors did not have an effect on individual motivation to improve health. Regarding personal motivation toward health improvement on the desire for "healing", perceived benefits and environmental factors had significant influence. However, the individual's desire for happiness did not influence the demand for "healing". Regarding the effect of a "health diet" on the desire for "healing", only the psychological aspects of a "health diet" had any significant effects on the desire for "healing". The results from this study can help local organizations or service companies that provide "healing" programs with developing effective marketing strategies that could lead to greater customer satisfaction. Especially, the significant influence of psychological aspects of a "health diet" on the demand for "healing" is noteworthy in that this could play a key role in establishing a more effective marketing strategy to attract increasing numbers of consumers using health conscious diets.

  • This paper investigated main determinants of purchase intention for VOD contents by employing an extended technology acceptance model. The findings showed that 'user activeness' is the critical external variable influencing five perceived belief variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived playfulness, perceived quality, perceived complexity and perceived cost. Regarding consumer satisfaction for free VOD service, it had no direct effect but indirect effect on the purchase behavior, meaning that the satisfaction causes purchase intention for VOD contents via the cognitive attitude. Also, the moderating e!ect of use experience on the relationship between the belief variables and the purchase intention was confirmed. Users with much experience showed a higher perception for usefulness and quality, whereas users with less experience placed a higher value on the hedonic factors and costs. In contrast to previous studies on IPTV that mainly focused on determinant of IPTV subscription, this paper analyzed VOD that is a killer application of IPTV in identification of key factors for the acceptance. The findings provide IPTV operators some strategies to create customer value and improve profitability.

  • We examined an urban population's awareness of dietary guidelines to determine whether they perceived them to be necessary, and identified the factors affecting this awareness and perceived necessity. Data were collected via physical examinations and face-to-face interviews. Health indicators were collected from health examinations, and information on individual characteristics, including awareness, perceived necessity, and dietary status were obtained from the interviews. The subjects' sociodemographic, health and dietary status were examined as potential factors influencing awareness and perceived necessity. Descriptive statistics, contingency tables, and logistic regression modeling were used in the analysis. Low awareness of the dietary guidelines was displayed by the elderly and poorly educated individuals, and those without a spouse. Most people who were not aware of the dietary guidelines thought the guidelines unnecessary. Males with hypertension and lower hemoglobin levels, and females with less education had low awareness. Elderly females with lower bone density had less perceived necessity. Males and females with poor dietary status reported low perceived necessity.

  • The development of information technology and the demands of society on an application in an operating system, as well as increasing the specifications and sophistication of smartphones, require banks to make changes to their mobile banking applications. The transformation of the mobile banking application into a digital banking application conducted by banks has made users re-evaluate based on their preferences. This study presents the behavior of users of digital banking applications in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The hypothesis model is based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with additional factors of the social image, perceived risk and perceived trust adopted from Muñoz-Leiva et al. (2017). The methodology in this study includes data collection through questionnaires distributed online and data analysis using the Structural Equation Model. The results of this study illustrate that the perceived trust and perceived risk have a more dominant part in influencing user attitude and user intention to use digital banking. Meanwhile, social image, perceived ease-of-use and perceived usefulness are not significant in influencing user attitude and user intention to use digital banking. The implication of this research helps to determine the right communication and strategy so that more users with more benefits can utilize this digital banking application.
