This study was performed to explore the factors that affect the debt-reuse intention of defaulters. The focus of this study is on defaulters who used debt for stock investment. Debt-usage differences were considered since they had different psychological backgrounds. A total of 712 self-administered questionnaires (stock=131 and no-stock=581) were analyzed using SPSS. The major findings were as follows : First, the level of perceived behavioral control was the highest and the level of attitudes toward using debt was the lowest among the psychological factors in both groups. Second, perceived behavioral control was different according to age and income. No such significant association was found in attitudes toward using debt, subjective norms and behavioral intention in the stock group. Third, behavioral intention was explained by attitudes toward using debt and subjective norms in the stock group. However, in the no-stock group, behavioral intention was explained by attitudes toward using debt, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. These findings have important pragmatical meaning in that they show the determinants of debt reuse by stock investment defaulters.

Previous studies on user training have largely focused on assessing models which describe the determinants of information technology usage or examined theeffects of training, on user satisfaction, productivity, performance and so on. Scant research efforts have been made, however, to examine those effects of training by using theoretical models. This study presented a conceptural model to predict intention to use information technology and conducted an experimentto understand how training for computer skill acquisition affects primary variables of the model. The data were obtained from 32 student subjects of an experimental group and 31 students of a control group, and the information technology employed for this study was a university's electronic mail system. The study results revealed that attitude toward usage and perceived behavioral control helped to predict user intentions ; outcome expectations were positively related to attitude toward usage ; and self-efficacy was positively related to perceived behavioral control. Thd hands-on training for the experimental group led to increases in perceived ease of use, self-efficacy and perceived behaviroal control. The changes in those variables suggest more causal effects of user training than other survey studies.

An effective measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is wearing masks in public places. This solution is highly recommended in many countries all over the world. The objective of this study is to identify the antecedents of citizens' intention to purchase masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), the current study analyzes attitudes toward mask-purchasing, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, to assess their impact on intention to purchase masks. In total, six variables are examined: attitude toward mask-wearing, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, perceived severity, perceived susceptibility, and the intention to wear masks. Data are collected from 243 respondents in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. They were processed through by factor analysis and multiple regressions. The results report that all three factors positively affect citizens' intention to buy masks in the following ascending order: Attitude toward mask-purchasing, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Our study is the first research that applies TPB to investigate citizens' intention to purchase masks to during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, this study provides guidelines to the Vietnamese public managers to combat COVID-19 through the purchase of masks. Shopkeepers would be well advised to observe the intentions of consumers toward masks.
The purpose of this study was to test the Theory of Planned Behavior in the prediction of contraceptive behavior among married women. This study used a descriptive correlational design to examine the relationships among the study variables. Eighty married women in Seoul and Kyungki-do participated in this study, Research instruments used were the tool for measuring TPB variables search as attitude toward contraception, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and intention ; and the tool for measuring contraceptive behavior. The former was modified by the researcher according to Ajzen & Fishbein(1980)'s guidelines for tool development and Jee (1993)'s tool. The latter was developed by the researcher Data was collected from July 20, 1996 to October 25, 1996. The results are as follows ; The three factors, attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control of contraception can explain 30% of the variance in contraceptive intention. Inspection of path coefficient for each of the three predictor variables revealed that subjective norm and perceived behavioral control were the predictor variables on intention, while attitude was not. ; and intention and percevied behavioral control factors can explain 42% of the variance in contraceptive behavior. Inspection of path coefficient for each of the two predictor variables revealed that intention and perceived behavioral control were the predictor variables on behavior. In conclusion, this study identified that Theory of Planned Behavior was a useful model in the prediction of contraceptive behavior, and the contraceptive service program based on the TPB variables would be an effective nursing intervention for the change in contraceptive behavior.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in the prediction of smoking cessation intention and smoking cessation behavior among adolescent smokers, in order to provide basic data to develop a future smoking cessation program as a nursing intervention. Method: The study subjects were 80 adolescent smokers who had smoked one cigarette and attended a five-day school smoking cessation program. The data were collected from October 24 to December 21, 1999. The instruments used in this study were the tools developed by Jee (1994) to measure TPB variables such as attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, smoking cessation intention, and smoking cessation behavior. The data were analyzed with the SAS/PC program using descriptive statistics, hierarchical multiple regression, and logistic multiple regression. Results: 1. Attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control were partially significant in predicting smoking cessation intention. 2. Smoking cessation intention and perceived behavioral control toward smoking cessation behavior did not significantly predict smoking cessation behavior. 3. There were partial interaction effects among the attitude toward smoking cessation behavior, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control in the prediction of smoking cessation intention. 4. There were partial interaction effects between smoking cessation intention and perceiver behavioral control toward smoking cessation behavior in the prediction of smoking cessation behavior. Conclusion: This study partially demonstrated support for the TPB model that was partially useful in predicting smoking cessation intention and smoking cessation behavior among adolescent smokers. Therefore, it is recommended that attitude toward smoking cessation behavior and perceived behavioral control should be considered in developing smoking cessation programs and implementing nursing interventions to change the smoking behavior of adolescent smokers.

The current study investigates VPA usage (i.e.,continuance intention of use, WOM intention) of by Theory of Planned Behavior (i.e.,attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control) and perceived value/risk. The results show that (1) attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and perceived value positively predicted the continuance intention of VPA use. Regarding WOM of intention, there were positively significant effects of the attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and perceived value. The results of this study are expected to provide a variety of practical and theoretical implications in promising artificial intelligence market by the impact of TPB (i.e.,attitude toward to VPA, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control) and perceived values of VPA.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the factors affecting the prevention of needle stick injury. Methods: Data collection was conducted during the period July 15-31, 2013 by a self-administered questionnaire involving 220 nurses working in 7 hospitals. The data was analyzed by SPSS v18 and AMOS v18. Results: Actions by nurses to prevent needle stick injury were directly and indirectly influenced by perceived benefits, attitude toward the behavior, perceived behavioral control, and intention underlying the behavior. Specially, perceived behavioral control is verified to have not only direct influence but also indirect influence on the performance of preventive action through the intention underlying the behavior. Also, perceived benefits indirectly influence the intention toward the behavior and performance of preventive action through attitude toward the behavior and perceived behavioral control. The predictor variables in this model are 52% explicable in terms of intention of prevention action against needle stick injury, and 66% explicable in terms of performance of preventive action. Conclusion: To ensure high performance of preventive action against needle stick injury, constructing not only the solution that inspires the intention toward behavior but also a system that can positively solve and improve obstructive factors in behavioral performance is of primary importance.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between handwashing knowledge and handwashing compliance in nursing students and to identify the moderation and mediation effects of self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control on the relationship. Methods: The participants were 172 nursing college students who completed the self-report measures. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient, Multiple regression analysis was used to test moderation and mediation effects. Results: The score for knowledge of handwashing was higher in participants who had completed fundamentals of nursing practicum (t=-6.54, p<.001) and the score for compliance with handwashing was higher in participants who had completed clinical practicum (t=-3.81, p<.001) or fundamentals of nursing practicum (t=-5.97, p<.001). Self-efficacy showed a significant moderation effect (z=2.21, p=.027) but not a mediation effect while perceived behavioral control had a significant mediation effect but not a moderation effect on the relationship between knowledge of handwashing and compliance. Conclusion: Findings indicate that clinical practicum and fundamentals of nursing practicum were helpful to nursing students in acquiring knowledge and in practicing proper handwashing technique. These findings suggest that continuing and repetitive education programs on handwashing need to be enhanced and strategies to strengthen self-efficacy and perceived behavioral control need to be included in education programs.

The development of information technology has promoted organizational transformation through the utilization of an electronic information system. This research aimed to identify factors that influence continuous intention to use E-HRM. This empirical research applies the Technology Acceptance Model and Cognitive Model for identifying significantly impacted areas of continuous intention to use E-HRM in a highly dynamic environment. The data were collected using questionnaires delivered directly to respondents. The sample was 100 employees of ESQ Group selected through random sampling. The variables used were subjective norms (X1), perceived behavioral control (X2), perceived innovativeness (Y1), cognitive absorption (Y2), satisfaction (Y3), and continuous intention to use E-HRM (Y4). Statistical analysis using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with Smart PLS was applied. The results revealed that behavioral control (X2) did not influence the continuous intention to use E-HRM (Y4) and that cognitive absorption (Y2) and satisfaction (Y3) did not significantly influence continuous intention to use E-HRM (Y4). Subjective norms (X1) significantly influenced both perceived innovativeness (Y1) and continuous intention to use E-HRM (Y4), perceived behavioral control (X2) significantly influenced both perceived innovativeness (Y1) and cognitive absorption (Y2), and perceived innovativeness (Y1) significantly influenced both satisfaction (Y3) and continuous intention to use E-HRM (Y4).
The purpose of this study is to examine diverse factors influencing the adoption of IPTV services and relationships among them. To achieve the purpose, this study modified and applied the established theory of the Extended Technology Acceptance Model(ETAM) incorporating socio-cultural factor, flow experience and perceived behavioral control as related constructs. The suggested model was empirically tested through the structural equation modeling approach. The results are as follows: First, the socio-cultural factor and the perceived behavioral control have significant direct influences on the adoption of IPTV services. Second, the flow experience does not have a significant indirect influence mediated by the attitude toward IPTV services. Third, the socio-cultural factor has the significant relationships with the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use. Finally, the flow experience was influenced by the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use.
