  • In this paper, we definite a generalized weighted Moore-Penrose inverse $A^{+}_{M,N}$ of a given matrix A, and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for its existence. We also prove its uniqueness and give a representation of it. In the end we point out this generalized inverse is also a prescribed rang T and null space S of {2}-(or outer) inverse of A.

  • We introduce new generalized inverses (named the WgDMP inverse and dual WgDMP inverse) for a bounded linear operator between two Hilbert spaces, using its Wg-Drazin inverse and its Moore-Penrose inverse. Some new properties of WgDMP inverse and dual WgDMP inverse are obtained and some known results are generalized.

  • We define a left quotient as well as a right quotient of two bounded operators between Hilbert spaces, and we parametrize these two concepts using the Moore-Penrose inverse. In particular, we show that the adjoint of a left quotient is a right quotient and conversely. An explicit formulae for computing left (resp. right) quotient which correspond to adjoint, sum, and product of given left (resp. right) quotient of two bounded operators are also shown.

  • We introduce a new approach that allows us to solve, algorithmically, the contractive completion problem. In this article, we provide concrete necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of contractive completions of Hankel partial contractions of size $4{\times}4$ using a Moore-Penrose inverse of a matrix.

  • Many procedures for deriving the Moore-Penrose invese $X^+$ have been developed, but the explicit forms of Moore-Penerose inverses for design matrices in analysis of variance models are not known heretofore. The purpose of this paper is to find explicit forms of $X^+$ for the one-way and the two-way analysis of variance models. Consequently, the Moore-Penerose inverse $X^+$ and the shortest solutions of them can be easily obtained to the level of pocket calculator by way of our results.

  • This paper presents a fast blind deconvolution method that produces a deblurring result from a single image in only a few seconds. The high speed of our method is enabled by considering the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), and its relation to filtering and convolution, and fast computation of Moore-Penrose inverse matrix. How can we predict the behavior of an arbitrary filter, or even more to the point design a filter to achieve certain specifications. The idea is to study the frequency response of the filter. This concept leads to an useful convolution formula. A Matlab implementation of our method usually takes less than one minute to deblur an image of moderate size, while the deblurring quality is comparable.

  • Compliance mismatch across an end-to-end anastomosis was measured In the In vitro experimental setup. A 35mm camera was used and Image process was done in Gould/ DeAnza Image processor. The results showed that compliances of Penrose tubing and synthetic PTFE grafts were In good agreement with the previously reported In vivo data. PTFE grafts exhibited a nonlinear behavior with compliance decreasing with Increasing transmural pressure, whereas the compliance of the Penrose tubing remained relatively constant within the range of the pressures in which data were obtained. The lumen cross sections at the anastomosis were affected by the suture and the mismatch In compliance between the Penrose tubing and vascular grafts. The varla~lons In the lumen dtameter at the anastomosis was more pronounced with increasing transmural pressures. From the present study, it was clearly demonstrated that the compliance of prosthetic grafts Is much lower than that of the arteries. In addition to the hemodynamlc consequences, compliance mismatch across the anastomosis has been known to lead to Increased anastomotlc and suture stresses with resultant suture line dehlscence and false aneurysm formation. Thus, there are good hemodynamic reasons to suppose that Introduction of a less compliant arterial graft Into the arterial circulation wlll be damaging and that grafts should be made to match the elastic behavior of their host arteries as closely possible.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a technique for the shape analysis of plane truss structures under prescribed displacement modes. The shape analysis is performed based on the existence theorem of the solution and the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse matrix. In this paper, the homologous deformation of structures was proposed as prescribed displacement modes, the shape of the structure is determined from these various modes and applied loads. In general, the shape analysis is a kind of inverse problem different from stress analysis, and the governing equation becomes nonlinear. In this regard, Newton-Raphson method was used to solve the nonlinear equation. Three different shape models are investigated as numerical examples to show the accuracy and the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Mediastinitis is a life-threatening disease, and effective drainage is needed to treat mediastinitis with abscess formation. We recommend an alternative drainage method using chest tube binding with a Silastic Penrose drainage tube. The use of a Silastic Penrose drainage tube may help to manage mediastinitis with abscess formation. This method facilitates effective draining and prevents tissue adhesion.
