Online Games and Cyber Delinquency among Adolescents (청소년의 온라인 게임과 사이버 일탈에 관한 연구)

  • Online games are very popular among adolescents in Korea. They sometimes lead to cyber delinquency. An ethnographic analysis was conducted in this study to address the social significance of online games. The results showed that the adolescents who were addicted to or indulged in the games were likely to commit delinquency online and/or offline. Delinquency in an information society is typically individualistic, whereas deviant behaviors in an industrial society are more social and collective, such as group violence. Parenting style, student-teacher relationship, peer pressure, game environment, and recreational facilities for the adolescents were intertwined with such adolescent delinquency. Finally, some implications of the online games from the perspective of social welfare practice were discussed to prevent online game indulgence and addiction and adolescent delinquency.

The Usefulness of Beavers Systems Model on Adolescent Adjustment (청소년의 적응에 대한 Beavers의 Ssytems 모델의 유용성)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the usefulness of Beavers Systems Model on adolescent adjustment. For this study adolescents' perceptions of family health/competence family style and adolescent adjustment were utilized. The 443 subjects were selected randomly from the second grade of middle schools and high schools in the city of Taegu. The instruments of measurement were SFI II State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Depression Scale Self-Esteem Scale and Delinquency Scale. Factor Analysis Cronbach's a, MANOVA and Scheffe test were conducted for the data analysis. The conclusion of this research findings was as follows: There is significant differences I nadolescents' anxiety depression global self-esteem social-peer self esteem property predatory behaviors and school-norm avoidant behaviors by the family functioning types of BSM. Therefore the group classification by BSM was generally useful in evaluating adolescent adjustment.

  • 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 P2P개념으로는 순수 P2P와 변경 P2P구조가 있다[3]. 순수 P2P의 모델에는 Gnutella와 stella등의 형태가 존재하고 변형 P2P로는 무수히 많은 형태가 존재한다. 이 변형 P2P모델들 중파일 공유 모델들이 존재하는데 이 모델들은 파일의 공유를 위한 그룹 관리와 검색, 색인 등의 기능을 제공한다. 파일공유 모델의 Peer들에 대해 연결성 유지를 위한 많은 부하와 사용자에 있어서 그룹에 대한 형태의 문제점 그리고 서버의 Fail에 대한 비연결성에 관한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 라우팅 기법에서의 접근을 통해 과일공유모델에 계층적 구조를 적용하고 Backup시스템을 설계하여 사용자에 의한 효율적인 그룹관리와 연결의 신뢰성을 유지하기 위해 시스템을 설계하였다.

Efficient Topology Aggregation in ATM Networks (ATM망에서의 효율적인 토폴로지 집단화 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 ATM PNNI(Private Network-Network Interface) 망에서 경로 배정을 위해 필요로 하는 링크 상태 정보(link state information)를 효율적으로 집단화(aggregation)하는 두 가지 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법들은 집단화할 동료 집단(peer group)의 경계노드(border node)들을 셔플넷(shufflenet)이나 de Bruijn 그래프의 노드들로 사상시킴으로써 표현해야 할 링크의 수를 완전 그물망 방법(full-mesh approach)의 N2에서 aN(a는 정수, N은 경계노드 수)으로 줄인다. 이는 공간 복잡도가 0(N)인 신장 트리(apanning tree) 방법에서 필요로 하는 링크의 수와 비슷하지만, 신장 트리 방법과는 달리 비대칭망(asymmetric network)에서 사용할 수 있다는 것이 큰 장점이다. 모의 실험 결과 셔플넷 방법은 aN개의 링크만을 표현하면서도 상태 정보의 정확성은 완전 그물망 방법에 근접함을 알 수 있었고, de Bruijn 방법은 정보의 정확성에서는 셔플넷 방법에 못 미치지만 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 별모양 방법(star approach) 방법보다는 훨씬 정확하며, 계산 복잡도 면에서 셔플넷 방법보다 효율적이었다.

Study on the Experiences of Preservice Teacher in Early Childhood Education on Learning Content in English (예비유아교사의 영어 전공수업 경험에 관한 연구)

  • This study explored what Korean college students, especially preservice teacher in early childhood education, experienced and how they constructed the meanings of experiences about their subject- matter course (early childhood mathematics education) taught in English. One cohort- 20 senior students- majoring in early childhood education in a 4-year university was participated in this study. Using action research method and narrative research method, data were analyzed. The findings were as follows: 1) preservice teacher experienced some difficulties to construrct professional knowledge through English. 2) They challenged to overcome these difficulties through active participation. 3) They got supports from instructor and peer group. 4) They accomplished the course with self-satisfaction. 5) They experienced the conflicts between social requirements and personal needs.

Development of the Competency Model for Prevention of Adolescent Risk Behavior (청소년의 위험행동 예방을 위한 역량모델 개발)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify fundamental data on competency reinforcement programs to prevent adolescent risk behavior by developing and examining a competency model. Methods: In this study, competences on prevention of adolescent risk behavior were identified through competency modeling, and a competency model was developed and tested for validity. Results: Competences for prevention of adolescent risk behavior defined by the competency model included the following: self-control, positive mutual understanding between parents and adolescents, and positive connectedness with peer group. Validation of the competency model showed the model to be appropriate. Conclusion: The competency model for prevention of adolescent risk behavior through competency modeling is expected to be the foundation of an integral approach to enhance competency in adolescents and prevent adolescent risk behavior. This kind of approach can be a school-centered, cost-efficient strategy, which not only reduces adolescent risk behavior but also improves quality of adolescent resources.

An Exploration on Elements of e-Teaching Portfolio for Enhancing Teaching Expertise in Higher Education (대학 교수자의 수업전문성 향상을 목적으로 하는 e-티칭 포트폴리오의 구성요소 탐색)

  • This study has explored the elements of e-teaching portfolio for enhancing teaching expertise in higher education. This study is carried out through the literature review and expert's focus group interview. As the result of this study, seven elements of e-teaching portfolio for enhancing teaching expertise in higher education have been found. First, 'personal background' include curriculum vitae, course responsibility, and other educational activities. Second, 'teaching philosophy' include the principals on teaching and learning, statements of teaching philosophy. Third, 'learning environment' include the characteristics of students, the previous learning contents, and physical environment. Forth, 'course contents and methods' include teaching strategies and instructional materials, Fifth, 'instructional evaluation' includes the principals of evaluation and the examples of learning outcomes. Sixth, 'endeavor for improvement of instruction' include evidence of activity for teaching improvement and instruction feedback from peer and students. And e-teaching portfolio also includes research career and awards history element.

Perceptions of Sexuality in Unmarried Mothers (미혼모의 성 인식)

  • Purpose: A phenomenology study was conducted to provide in-depth data to help in the understanding of young women who have become unmarried mothers. Method: In-depth interviews were done with 11 unmarried mothers from August 2002 to September 2003 Data were recorded and analyzed by Colaizzi method. Result: Significant statements consisted of 5 categories with 12 theme clusters accompanying each category. The categories were: "Sex as a tool" which included living and connections, "Sex as an expression of her desire" which included wanting and expression of love, "Sex to be dominated" which included significance, domination and negative aspects of sex, "Moral sex" which included secrecy, responsibility and connections with life, "Sex as a sense of identity" which included expression of gender and association with peer group. Conclusion: The results of this study will help indicate directions for care of unmarried mother, which should be based on a deep understanding of their personal perception of sexuality. Also, it can be utilized as basic materials for development of sex educational programs to prevent repeat pregnancies in unmarried women and information on consultion with unmarried mothers.

Structural Equational Modeling of the Determinants of Home Environment and Peer Group Environment for Children's Self'Perceived Competence (역량지각에 영향을 미치는 가정환경과 또래환경 결정요인의 공변량구조모형)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 아동의 연령과 성에 따른 아동의 역량지각 발달의 경향을 조사하고, 연령, 성을 포함한 가정환경과 또래 환경의 변수들의 역량지각에 미치는 영향을 구조평형 모델을 통해 알아 보았다. 또한, 이러한 역량지각의 발달 성향을 서구 문화권과 비교하여, 역량지각발달의 문화적 보편성이나 차이점을 알아 보고자 하였다. 유아, 또는 초등학교 저학년 아동은 면접으로, 그리고 3학년이상은 설문지를 사용하였다. 조사 대상은 유아, 초등학교 1, 3, 5학년, 중학교 1학년 아동 750명과 그들의 어머니이다. 인지, 사회, 신체 영역에서 모두 역량지각은 연령이 증가할수록 낮아졌다. 인지, 신체 영역의 역량지각에선 연령과 성의 상호작용효과가 나타났다. 그러나, 서구 문화권의 연구에서는 이러한 상호작용이 발견되지 않는다. 역량지각의 공변량구조모형에서는 또래환경 변수가 모두 포함시키기에 부적합한 변수로 나타났고, 연령, 성과 가족의 수입, 아버지의 교육수준, 가정의 물리적 환경, 부모의 정서적 지지가 아동의 역량지각에 의미 있게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Impact of Teachers' Professional Development on Students' Performance

  • Purpose - This study was conducted to identify the impact of teachers' professional development on students' performance. It examines the nature of association between teachers' professional development and students' performance, and analyzes how students can be affected by different factors of teachers' professional development. Research design, data, and methodology - In order to obtain the required goals, Data were randomly collected from 100 students and 45 teachers from three different institutes that are affiliated with KPK Agriculture University, Peshawar. To test the association between teachers' professional development and students' performance, the Chi-square test was applied. Gamma measurement was computed to check the direction of association. Results - The results of the study supported the statement that there exists a positive relationship between teachers' professional development and students' performance. Conclusion - Based on the findings it is surmised that, in order to create a clear learning relationship between teachers and students, management must support the teachers through peer group discussions and training opportunities, and should choose-teachers who can make students pursue the learning of subject knowledge with practical implementation.
