Purpose: There are a number of issues that can prevent students from obtaining a college degree. Our aim is to support academic probation students to improve their grades through a peer mentoring program. Method: 29 students as peer mentors were enrolled to provide support for 35 academic probation students and 51 as control. All students participated in the 4 month-long program including mentoring twice a week and out of campus activities. To identify factors affecting the change in the participants' GPA, a self-efficacy scale and an interpersonal support evaluation list were given to them before, as well as after the program. Using the SPSS/PC program, Chi-square test, paired t-test, ANOVA and lineal regression were applied. Results: All subjects significantly improved their self-efficacy and interpersonal support evaluation after the program (P<.001). The largest change in GPA after the program was shown in academic probation group (P<.001). Group, general self-efficacy, tangible help, belonging all were put into a regression model explaining the change in their GPA after the program (modified R squre is 69.5%, P<.05). Conclusion: A mentoring program, which aims to enhance self-efficacy and interpersonal support, can provide positive influences for a college student who needs a little extra attention from a peer.

This study used the hypothetical path model to investigate individual traits(attachment, reciprocal relationship, and self-esteem), situational evaluation(justification, and intention) and jealousy level in adolescents. Subjects were 853 7th, 9th, 11th grade students in the city of Daegu. Results showed that scores of girls were higher than boys on self-reported and peer-reported jealousy level, attachment, reciprocal relationship, adaptive expression and non-adaptive expression. Scores of boys were higher than girls for self-esteem, justification. Self-reported jealousy level was affected by situation evaluation(justification and intention) and attachment. Peer-reported jealousy level was affected by reciprocal relationship. Jealousy expression modes were affected by self-reported jealousy level and attachment.

An interest-based P2P constructs the peer connections based on similarities for efficient search of resources. A clustering technique using peer similarities as data is an effective approach to group the most relevant peers. However, the separation of groups produced from clustering lowers the scalability of a P2P network. Moreover, the interest-based approach is only concerned with user-level grouping where topology-awareness on the physical network is not considered. This paper proposes an efficient scalable search for the interest-based P2P system. A scalable multi-ring (SMR) based on fuzzy clustering handles the grouping of relevant peers and the proposed scalable search utilizes the SMR for scalability of peer queries. In forming the multi-ring, a minimized route function is used to determine the shortest route to connect peers on the physical network. Performance evaluation showed that the SMR acquired an accurate peer grouping and improved the connectivity rate of the P2P network. Also, the proposed scalable search was efficient in finding more replicated files throughout the peer network compared to other traditional P2P approaches.

미국 DOE(Department of energy) 산하 EERE(the office of energy efficiency and renewable energy)에서는 시행되고 있는 일반 프로그램 평가(General Program Evaluation) 중 하나인 과정 평가(Process Evaluation)는 프로그램의 수행의 효율성과 유효성을 평가하기 위해 수행된다. EERE에서는 프로그램 별로 매 2~3년에 한번, 프로그램의 진행에 장애요인을 시행하기 위해 부정기적으로 과정평가를 수행하여 프로그램의 진행과정을 개선할 것을 제안하고 있다. 과정평가의 방법론으로는 사례연구(case study), 내용분석(content analysis), 메타평가(meta evaluation), 델파이분석(delphi-analysis), 외부 동료평가(peer review) 등의 방법론이 사용될 수 있다. 특히, EERE는 "Peer Review Guide(2004)"을 발간하여 과정평가에서 있어 외부 동료평가의 방법론을 정리하였다. 과정평가를 통해 프로그램 수행결과의 중간점검과 동시에 프로그램의 발전을 위하 전문가의 제언을 수집할 수 있다. 따라서 과정평가의 결과는 프로그램의 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 장기 과제인 경우 프로그램 관리에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다. 우리나라의 경우, 사업 수행 시 '진도보고'나 '중간결과 발표' 등을 통하여 동일한 내용의 평가를 시행하고 있으나, 평가의 항목.시기.예산 등에 대한 지침(guideline)이 구축되었다고 볼 수 없는 상황이다. 한국의 신재생에너지 보급사업은 국가적인 중요도, 투입예산의 규모 및 수행기간 등을 고려할 때 과정평가를 통해 정기적으로 사업의 진행과정을 점검할 필요가 있다 하겠다. 따라서 신재생에너지 분야의 사업의 관리에 적용될 수 있는 EERE의 과정평가를 한국의 상황에 맞게 수정하고 이를 정규적으로 시행하는 방안에 대한 논의가 필요하다 하겠다.

이 연구는 문제해결형 탐구 실험에서 실험보고서의 동료 검토 활동이 실험보고서의 기술 능력과 질 개선에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 일반화학 실험을 수강하는 학생을 대상으로 실험을 수행하고, 실험보고서 작성하여 같은 수업을 받은 동료로부터 두 번이상의 검토를 받는다. 피드백을 받은 학생은 동료 검토에 대해 답변하고 보고서를 수정하여 최종보고서를 완성한다. 연구 결과, 동료 검토는 실험 보고서의 질적 향상에 영향을 미쳤으며, 특히 '실험고안'과 '결론 및 평가'과정에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 실험보고서를 작성하면서 자신의 생각을 정리하게 되는데, 이때 동료 검토 활동은 반성의 기회를 제공하고, 객관적인 시각으로 바라볼 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다. 또한 동료 검토 활동은 서로의 의견을 주고받으며 배울 수 있는 의사소통의 장이 될 수 있다.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the impact of patient-physician communication curriculum on students of Korean medical school in terms of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor level of communication skills. Methods: A communication curriculum was developed considering COVID-19 pandemic situation. Lectures, peer role-play, open interview with standardized patient (SP), discussion and feedback were conducted by online, and face-to-face 1:1 SP-interview was performed. Scores of written test, peer role-play of medical communication, SP-interview, self-evaluation on one's interview with real patients in clinical clerkship, and questionnaire of importance were collected and analyzed. Results: Converted to 100 point scale, the mean score of written test (cognitive level) was 91.2 while that of importance questionnaire (affective level) was 77.5. The mean scores of psychomotor level were 72.5, 77.5, and 62.5 for peer role-play, SP-interview, and real patient interview in clerkship, respectively. Conclusions: Students' performance is lower in higher level of competence. Curriculums should provide more opportunities of practices to students, and include evaluation focusing on performance skills.

This letter presents an enhancement of EigenTrust. Using the beta distribution, local trust values can be more correctly evaluated. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme calculates the local trust more correctly by up to 8%. For personalization, the proposed scheme provides cumulative transitive values from the local trust to the global trust with mathematically guaranteed convergence.

This paper presents a Prototype system developed for a Bluetooth interfaced VoIP system. The VoIP phone is developed based on tile implementation of a CELP coder on the TI 16bit DSP Processor A PC interfaced with Bluetooth module is used to designing a access point system. Host controller protocol stack is implemented to realize gateway between the wireless and wired line networks. A server application program for user management and call processing, which is based on TCP/IP peer to peer connection, is implemented for tile evaluation of overall interface system.

Purpose This study aims to develop classification models using a decision tree algorithm to identify core keywords and rules influencing online consumer review evaluations for the robot vacuum cleaner on Amazon.com. The difference from previous studies is that we analyze core keywords that affect the evaluation results by dividing the subjects that evaluate online consumer reviews into self-evaluation (star ratings) and peer evaluation (helpfulness votes). We investigate whether the core keywords influencing star ratings and helpfulness votes vary across different products and whether there is a similarity in the core keywords related to star ratings or helpfulness votes across all products. Design/methodology/approach We used random under-sampling to balance the dataset. We progressively removed independent variables based on decreasing importance through backwards elimination to evaluate the classification model's performance. As a result, we identified classification models that best predict star ratings and helpfulness votes for each product's online consumer reviews. Findings We have identified that the core keywords influencing self-evaluation and peer evaluation vary across different products, and even for the same model or features, the core keywords are not consistent. Therefore, companies' producers and marketing managers need to analyze the core keywords of each product to highlight the advantages and prepare customized strategies that compensate for the shortcomings.

본 연구는 문헌정보학과 학생들의 문화성향을 파악하고 성향별로 협력학습이 어떻게 이루어지는지에 대해서 파악하였다. 문화성향을 파악하기 위해서 Triandis(1988)의 척도를 사용하여 4가지 수준(수평적 개인주의, 수직적 개인주의, 수평적 집단주의, 수직적 집단주의)으로 평가하였다. 각 수준별 협력행태는 자기평가와 동료평가 결과를 바탕으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 문화성향으로 66.7% 학생들이 수평적 집단주의 성향을 보였으며 이들은 협력학습에 적극적으로 참여하고 높은 기여도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 성별에 따른 협력학습의 차이에서 여학생이 남학생보다 높은 기여도를 보인 반면 만족도에서는 낮은 만족도를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 학생들의 협력학습을 향상시키기 위해 활용될 것으로 기대된다.
