Numerical and experimental research on actuator forces in toggled active vibration control system (Part I: Numerical)

  • In this research, toggled actuator forces were examined. For achieving to this object, an actuator was installed in a toggle pattern in a S.D.O.F frame and actuator forces were investigated thru a numerical analysis process. Within past twenty years, researchers tried to use strong bracing systems as well as huge dampers to stabilize tall buildings during intensive earthquakes. Eventually, utilizing of active control systems containing actuators to counter massive excitations in structures was emerged. However, the more powerful earthquake excitations, the more robust actuators were required to be installed in the system. Subsequently, the latter process made disadvantage to the active control system due to very high price of the robust actuators as well as their large demands for electricity. Therefore, through a numerical process (Part I), influence of toggled actuator pattern was investigated. The algorithm used in the system was LQR and ATmega328 was selected as a control platform. For comparison, active tendon control system was chosen. The final results show clearly that using the toggle pattern mitigates the required actuator forces enormously leading to deploy much lighter actuators.

  • 본 논문은 완전 광전달망에 적합한 네트워크 구조를 얻기 위해 몇 가지 구조들의 파장 수와 LT 수를 비교한다. 이 구조들은 PPWDM, SHWDM, DHWDM, 완정 광 WDM이며, 사용되는 토폴로지는 라우팅 패턴이 일정하고 트래픽 패턴이 균일한 정적 링 네트워크이다. 또한, 본 논문은 완전 메쉬 형태의 트래픽 패턴을 갖는 완전 광 WDM 링 구조에서 파장 할당 알고리즘을 제안한다. 파장 할당 알고리즘은 상위 계층과 관계없이 광 계층에서 직접 설정되는 트래픽을 최단의 경로를 따라 할당하는 학습적 알고리즘에 기초한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 복수 모델영상 간의 휘도치의 차이(이를 상위도라고 정의함)를 기본으로 영상매칭의 기준이 되는 "상위도 패턴"을 만드는 방법과, 이를 이용하여 입력영상과 모델영상간의 거리 계산에 의해 손의 형상을 인식하는 알고리듬에 대해 기술한다 이 방법의 특징은 인식과정에서 에지나 코너 등과 같은 기하학적 형상특징을 이용하는 것이 아니고, 영상전체를 하나의 처리단위로 하여 다수의 영상으로부터 구한 단순한 휘도치 차이를 2차원의 형상으로 패턴화 하여 인식과정에 사용한다는 점이다. 따라서 대량의 모델이 상호간에 갖는 상관관계가 인식과정에서 동시에 적용되기 때문에 대규모의 영상을 비교할 필요가 있는 인식 알고리즘의 실현에 매우 적합하다.

유고상황 시 MatSIM을 활용한 도시부 도로네트워크 운영 분석 (Application of Multi-Agent Transport Simulation for Urban Road Network Operation in Incident Case)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to check the possibilities of traffic pattern analysis using MatSIM for urban road network operation in incident case. METHODS : One of the stochastic dynamic models is MatSIM. MatSIM is a transportation simulation tool based on stochastic dynamic model and activity based model. It is an open source software developed by IVT, ETH zurich, Switzerland. In MatSIM, various scenario comparison analyses are possible and analyses results are expressed using the visualizer which shows individual vehicle movements and traffic patterns. In this study, trip distribution in 24-hour, traffic volume, and travel speed using MatSIM are similar to those of measured values. Therefore, results of MatSIM are reasonable comparing with measured values. Traffic patterns are changed according to incident from change of individual behavior. RESULTS : The simulation results and the actual measured values are similar. The simulation results show reasonable ranges which can be used for traffic pattern analysis. CONCLUSIONS : The change of traffic pattern including trip distribution, traffic volumes and speeds according to various incident scenarios can be used for traffic control policy decision to provide effective operation of urban road network.

도로 및 기상조건을 고려한 노면온도변화 패턴 추정 모형 개발 (Developing Models for Patterns of Road Surface Temperature Change using Road and Weather Conditions)

  • PURPOSES : This study develops various models that can estimate the pattern of road surface temperature changes using machine learning methods. METHODS : Both a thermal mapping system and weather forecast information were employed in order to collect data for developing the models. In previous studies, the authors defined road surface temperature data as a response, while vehicular ambient temperature, air temperature, and humidity were considered as predictors. In this research, two additional factors-road type and weather forecasts-were considered for the estimation of the road surface temperature change pattern. Finally, a total of six models for estimating the pattern of road surface temperature changes were developed using the MATLAB program, which provides the classification learner as a machine learning tool. RESULTS : Model 5 was considered the most superior owing to its high accuracy. It was seen that the accuracy of the model could increase when weather forecasts (e.g., Sky Status) were applied. A comparison between Models 4 and 5 showed that the influence of humidity on road surface temperature changes is negligible. CONCLUSIONS : Even though Models 4, 5, and 6 demonstrated the same performance in terms of average absolute error (AAE), Model 5 can be considered the optimal one from the point of view of accuracy.

  • In summer electrical energy is consumed in very high rate. It is used to operate conventional air conditioning system. Hot and humid air can germinate mould spores, encourage ill health, and create physiological stress (discomfort). Dehumidifier solar cooling effect is the one alternative solution saving electrical energy. We use surplus heat energy in the summer, to get cooling effect and then to get human reach to comfort condition. These devices have two system, dehumidifier and regeneration system. This paper will be focus in dehumidifier system. Dehumidifier system use for absorbing moisture in the air and decreasing air temperature. When the liquid desiccant as strong solution contact with the vapor air in the packed tower, it works. The heat and mass transfer performances of flow pattern in the packed tower of dehumidifier are analyzed and compared in detail. In this experiment was introduced, the flow patterns are parallel flow and counter flow. The performance of these flow patterns will calculate from air side. Which is the best flow pattern that gave huge mass transfer rate? The proposed dehumidifier flow pattern will be helpful in the design and optimization of the dehumidifier solar cooling system.

사상체질(四象體質)에 따른 주관적(主觀的) 식욕(食慾) 비교(比較) 연구(硏究) (An Analysis of Subjective Appetite Ratings across Different Sasang Constitutional Types)

  • 1. Objectives : This investigation compares the subjective appetite ratings across male groups of different Sasang constitutional types. 2. Methods : We recruited 36 male participants aged 20-36 with BMI 18.5-30. The subjective appetite ratings was assessed using VAS before and after standard meal.(6 time points : 30 Minutes Pre-prandial, Immediately before Meal, 15, 30, 60, 120 Minutes Post-prandial) 3. Results : In comparison of subjective appetite ratings between Sasang constitutional types, Soyang-type showed a pattern like high appetite, high hunger, low satiety, high 'how much I can eat', Soeum-type showed a pattern like low appetite, low hunger, high satiety, low 'how much I can eat', and Taeeum-type showed a pattern like low appetite, low hunger. 4. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that the subjective appetite ratings could be different across different Sasang constitutional types.

Comparison of Four-view Abdominal Radiographic Studies on Duodenal Gas Pattern in Dog

  • In this retrospective study the effect of positioning on the radiographic appearance of duodenum and the radiographic differences of duodenal gas pattern between dogs without pancreatitis and dogs with pancreatitis were investigated. Ventrodorsal, dorsoventral as well as both lateral abdominal radiographs of 255 dogs were evaluated. Gas distribution in the duodenum, gastroduodenal angle, accuracy of the positioning was examined. The duodenum was more visible in a left lateral view and a dorsoventral view. The positioning of dorsoventral view was the most inaccurate. Based on this study, there were not significant differences in duodenal gas pattern between dogs without pancreatitis and dogs with pancreatitis.

음성 신호를 사용한 GMM기반의 감정 인식 (GMM-based Emotion Recognition Using Speech Signal)

  • 본 논문은 화자 및 문장 독립적 감정 인식을 위한 특징 파라메터와 패턴인식 알고리즘에 관하여 연구하였다. 본 논문에서는 기존 감정 인식 방법과의 비교를 위하여 KNN을 이용한 알고리즘을 사용하였고, 화자 및 문장 독립적 감정 인식을 위하여 VQ와 GMM을 이용한 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 그리고 특징으로 사용한 음성 파라메터로 피치, 에너지, MFCC, 그리고 그것들의 1, 2차 미분을 사용하였다. 실험을 통해 피치와 에너지 파라메터를 사용하였을 때보다 MFCC와 그 미분들을 특징 파라메터로 사용하였을 때 더 좋은 감정 인식 성능을 보였으며, KNN과 VQ보다 GMM을 기반으로 한 인식 알고리즘이 화자 및 문장 독립적 감정 인식 시스템에서 보다 적합하였다.

3D 스캔데이터를 활용한 국내 남성용 스킨스쿠버복 패턴개발 (Development of the Men's Scuba Diving Suit Pattern by Using 3D Body-Scanned Data)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the pattern of scuba diving suits for local men in their thirties by using 3D body-scanned data. It is widely acknowledged that draping method is more suitable than flat pattern for body shape as most scuba diving suits in the market are designed to fit the body tightly in a single piece with sleeves and legs. A dummy for this study was made based on men's standard clothing sizes in 30's which was derived from data of 2004 Size Korea. Accordingly, the basic body block was built upon through draping method. Next, a scuba diving suit was made from neoprene, followed by fit and the clothing pressure tests in order to evaluate the diving suit's functionality and comfort. The results of the fit test had high points of 4.33 in majority parts except armhole and crotch ones. In comparison of clothing pressure between wearer and dummy, the clothing pressure of wearer was indicated relatively low in most parts other than armhole and knee, resulting from cushion function of skin and muscle and high stretch of fabric.
