  • Path of insertion(1) can be defined that the direction of movement of an appliance from the point of initial contact of its rigid parts with the supporting teeth to the place of final rest. Krol(2) described that in the conventional path of insertion, all the rests are seated more or less simultaneously but in the use of the rotational path one segment of the partial denture is seated first then the remainder of the prosthesis is rotated into position. The rotational path of insertion is limited primarily to the tooth borne prosthesis. Its great advantages are the elimination of anterior clasps to improve ethetic and reduction of tooth coverage to minimize plaque accumulation. Either a rigid minor connector or proximal plate provides retention through its intimate contact with a proximal tooth surface below the height of contour as indicated at a o-degree tilt. A specially designed rest in conjunction with this retentive component satisfies the basic requirements of clasp design. The purpose of this study was a clinical evaluation of rotational path removable partial dentures. Author delivered rotational path removable partial dentures to three different cases of patients and evaluated function of the dentures, difficulties of removal and insertion of the dentures and supporting structures of the abutment teeth by means of clinical and X-ray examinations for eighteen months. According to the examination data author came to the conclusion that the prognosis of the rotational path removable partial dentures was excellent.

  • This article reviews the topic of how to identify and develop a removable partial denture (RPD) path of placement, and provides a literature review of the concept of the RPD path of placement, also known as the path of insertion. An optimal RPD path of placement, guided by mutually parallel guide planes, ensures that the RPD flanges fit intimately over edentulous ridge structures and that the framework fits intimately with guide plane surfaces, which prevents food collecting empty spaces between the intaglio surface of the framework and intraoral surfaces, and ensures that RPD clasps engage adequate numbers of tooth undercuts to ensure RPD retention. The article covers topics such as the causes of obstructions to RPD intra-oral seating, the causes of food collecting empty spaces that may exist around an RPD, and how to identify if a guide plane is parallel with the projected RPD path of placement. The article presents a method of using a surgical operating microscope, or high magnification (6-8x or greater) binocular surgical loupes telescopes, combined with co-axial illumination, to identify a preliminary path of placement for an arch. This preliminary path of placement concept may help to guide a dentist or a dental laboratory technician when surveying a master cast of the arch to develop an RPD path of placement, or in verifying that intra-oral contouring has aligned teeth surfaces optimally with the RPD path of placement. In dentistry, a well-fitting RPD reduces long-term periodontal or structural damage to abutment teeth.

  • In the system of contemporary factory, the frequent generation of robot program reduces the efficiency of robot working. In this study, the SIOPS (Soldering and Insertion Offline Programming System) that automatically generates the robot program is presented. The system can change the parameter about soldering and insertion interactively and generate the robot tool path.

  • The insertion loss is the measured change in power flux at a specified receiver, when the acoustic transmission path between it and the source is modified by the insertion of silencer element. Such measurements have clear and valid physical meaning particularly if the source impedance remains while the transmission path is altered. When the invarient condition is satisfied, the insertion loss is given by the ratio of the acoustic pressure in upstream to that in downstream of the silencer, and that of the particle velocity. The measurement is consisted of using an adaptation of the two microphone method to obtain the complex amplitude of the sound in upstream tube as well as in downstream tube of the silencer. Examples of the data, reduced and presented in terms of the pressure ratio and particle speed ratio, are compared with the theoretical calculations.

  • For miniaturization of electronic parts and higher productivity, part arrangement job of PCB(printed Circuit Board) has been replaced with complete automated facilities, and contribution which is concerned about this will be expanded continuously. Such part arrangement job of PCB could have lots of influences to entire productivity In this paper, effective grouping method of parts is suggested for the effective insertion path job of PCB concerning the constraints to the size of parts.

  • In this paper, an asymmetric topology of MMIC SPDT switch was proposed to increase the isolation in the receiving path and decrease the insertion loss with higher P1dB in the transmitting path for the ISM band. This SPDT switch was implemented with 0.5㎛ GaAs MESFETs processed by ETRI for the IDEC MPW project. For the receiving path the measured insertion losses were 1.518dB at 3GHz and 1.777dB at 5.75GHz and the isolations were 38.474dB at 3GHz and 29.125dB at 5.75GHz. For the transmitting path the insertion losses were 0.916dB at 3GHz and 1.162dB at 5.75GHz and the isolations were 23.259dB at 3GHz and 16.632dB at 5.75GHz. Compared to the symmetric topology the isolations of the receiving path for the asymmetric one were improved by 15.9dB at 3GHz and 11.9dB at 5.75GHz and its insertion loss was increased by about 0.6dB. In addition, P1dB of 21.5 dBm for the transmitting path was obtained, which is increased by 3.86dB compared to the symmetric one.

  • For deep submicron (DSM) very large scale integrated circuits (VLSI), it is well known that interconnects have become the dominant factor in determining the overall circuit performance. Buffer insertion is an effective technique of interconnect optimization. When a net has an excessive propagation delay, one or more buffers can be inserted to reduce the delay. Buffers also reduce the crosstalk between neighboring wires. While many conventional methods insert buffers net by net. we have developed new techniques in which buffer locations are simultaneously optimized for all nets. This is to avoid the difficulties in finding the right ordering of nets for buffer insertion. since several nets may compete for a buffer location. We also study buffer insertion with multiple fan-out nets to optimize critical path delay. Elmore delay model is used for delay calculation and the number of buffers for each net is determined to optimize the delay.

  • This paper, we presents a RF protection technique of antenna switch by improving the power handling capability in worst case environment mode for mobile phone applications without critical payment of circuit performances such as insertion loss, isolation and ACBV (AC breakdown voltage). By applying a additional capacitive path located in front of the antenna in cell-phone, it performs the effective reduction of input power in high voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) condition. Under the all-path off condition which causes a high VSWR, it achieved 37.7dBm power handling level as high as 5.7dB compared to that of conventional one at 2GHz. In addition, insertion loss and isolation performances were 0.31dB and 42.72dB at 2 GHz, respectively which were almost similar to that of the conventional circuit. The proposed antenna switch was fabricated in 130nm CMOS SOI technology.
