5축 레이저 절단기용 포스트프로세서 및 절단 모션 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of Post-Processor and Cutting Motion Simulator for 5-axis CNC Laser Cutting Machine)

  • Five-axis laser cutting has great advantages when it is applied to 3-dimensional machining requiring high cutting quality. For developing 5-axis CNC laser cutting systems, however, many problems such as rotating a laser head or a working table, 5-axis servo-control mechanism, tool path generation and post processing, and collision avoidance between a laser head and a work-piece should be solved. In this paper, we deal with developing a dedicated CAM system based on UG-NX3 for 5-axis laser cutting machine. Two essential modules such as post-processor and cutting motion simulation was developed. The developed system was applied to cutting curve defined on 3-D workpiece in order to show the validity of the proposed methods.

  • 본 논문에서는 전압형 PWM 컨버터의 교류 입력측 LCL 필터의 설계기법을 제안한다 기존의 전압형 PWM 컨버터에서 전원계통으로 흘러 들어가는 스위칭 고조파전류를 억제하기 위해 교류 입력측에 LCL 필터를 설치하는 것은 매우 경제적이고 효과적인 방법이다 필터 커패시터로 스위칭 고조파전류를 흡수하며 공진을 억제하기 위해 수동 댐핑 저항을 이용한다 UPS용의 LCL 필터 구조 PWM 컨버터의 설계예시를 보였으며 제안한 설계기법의 타당성을 입증하기 위해 PSIM을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 행하였다.

  • In this paper, a design method of LCL filter at the AC input side of a voltage source PWM converter is proposed. Effective method to prevent pollution of the utility caused by high frequency current ripple is to use a LCL filter instead of the L filter The C elements in the filter provide a low impedance path for the high frequency component, preventing them from entering the utility. A resistor in series with a capacitor is used for damping the resonance in the filter. The design examples are shown and the validity of the proposed design method is verified through the PSIM simulation.

Advanced Cascade Multilevel Converter with Reduction in Number of Components

  • In this paper a novel converter structure based on cascade converter family is presented. The suggested multilevel advanced cascade converter has benefits such as reduction in number of switches and power losses. Comparison depict that proposed topology has the least number of IGBTs among all multilevel cascade type converters which have been introduced recently. This characteristic causes low cost and small installation area for suggested converter. The number of on state switches in current path is less than conventional topologies and so the output voltage drop and power losses are decreased. Symmetric and asymmetric modes are analyzed and compared with conventional multilevel cascade converter. Simulation and experimental results are presented to illustrate validity, good performance and effectiveness of the proposed configuration. The suggested converter can be applied in medium/high voltage and PV applications.

  • AOC-SS (Advanced Orthogonal Code-Spread Spectrum) modulation [1] is a flexible scheme to obtain a multi-rate transmission but PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) increases in proportion to the number of AOCs and thus, the mapping technique is proposed to solve this problem. Moreover, by combining with space-time coding (STC), AOC-SS is capable of resistance to multi-path fading. The simulation programs have been performed to verify the validity of the suggested scheme.

  • For action selection as well as teaming, simple associations between stimulus and response have been employed in most of literatures. But, for successful task accomplishment, it is required that artificial life system can team and express behavioral sequences. In this paper, we propose a novel action-selection-mechanism to deal with behavioral sequences. For this, we define behavioral motivation as a primitive node for action selection, and then hierarchically construct a tree with behavioral motivations. The vertical path of the tree represents behavioral sequences. Here, such a tree for our proposed ASM can be newly generated and/or updated, whenever a new behavioral sequence is learned. To show the validity of our proposed ASM, three 2-D grid world simulations will be illustrated.

Cooperation of Time-delay for Internet-based Mobile Robot Using Fuzzy Logic

  • Recently, internet-based applications can be found easily in various felds. Internet-based telerobot system becomes one of important applications of internet. Among many important technological issues on the internet-based telerobot, time-delay is inherently critical problem to be solved. Time-delay is classified as micro time-delay and macro time-delay in this paper. Algorithms for compensation of path-error and time-error are proposed for the both types of time-delays using fuzzy logic since fuzzy logic is one of the best tools to represent expert's knowledge. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed algorithms.

  • Q-learning, based on discrete state and action space, is a most widely used reinforcement Learning. However, this requires a lot of memory and much time for learning all actions of each state when it is applied to a real mobile robot navigation using continuous state and action space Region-based Q-learning is a reinforcement learning method that estimates action values of real state by using triangular-type action distribution model and relationship with its neighboring state which was defined and learned before. This paper proposes a new Region-based Q-learning which uses a reward assigned only when the agent reached the target, and get out of the Local optimal path with adjustment of random action rate. If this is applied to mobile robot navigation, less memory can be used and robot can move smoothly, and optimal solution can be learned fast. To show the validity of our method, computer simulations are illusrated.

  • Future powertrain technologies will be developed focused on applications of eco-friendly technology for internal combustion engine, electric vehicle and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle. But it is expected that these cutting edge technologies will not be applied immediately due to lack of infrastructure, technical and economical reasons. Therefore, numerous developments of internal combustion engine will be carried out for the time being. There have been many turbo engine developments undergoing to maximize the engine performance using turbo charger system in accordance with global trend-green technology and downsizing of engine which coincides with HMC's future development strategy. This study reviews the development process and result of plastic intake manifold module which is firstly developed for turbo engine. CAE simulation and experiments were implanted to evaluate design validity.

  • Various walking robot platforms have been developed to carry out missions such as explorations, pass of obstacle or inspections of dangerous environments. In this work, a four legs mechanism based on Jansen mechanism is developed, which can trace a certain line. In order to maximize the tracing speed, mechanism design is performed in multiple phases using m.sketch, EdisonDesign and Arduino programs. In design process, control of power path and optimization of the locus of legs(GL/GAC) are found to be most important. A prototype model is constructed and test run to check the validity of the design optimization.
