  • During the past decade, integrated stratigraphy has been effectively applied to many sedimentary basins to analyze stratigraphic response to tectonic evolution. This application has been beneficial to hydrocarbon exploration in the basins because it provides a better understanding of temporal and spatial relationships of hydrocarbon source and reservoir rocks as a function of basin evolution. Like the maturation, migration, and trapping of hydrocarbons, ore-forming processes in hydrothermal deposits may be causally linked to particular phases of basin evolution. Consequently, applying integrated stratigraphy to mineral exploration may be a logical and helpful approach to understanding ore-forming processes and predicting their occurrence, location, and origin. • Mandongmyo(萬東廟) was a shrine built for two emperors of the Ming Dynasty in Huoyangri, Cheongju. Since the 17th century, the classical scholars of the Joseon Dynasty had valued Mandongmyo Shrine as a place for the so-called Jonjudaeui(尊周大義). In 1865, however, the shrine was demolished and ruined, afterward rebuilt by King Gojong(高宗) in 1874. King Gojong played an important role in the construction plan for the new shrine, which he adjusted the layout of the building and named it. Unlike in the past, the reconstructed shrine was thoroughly led by the government, and its architectural character was greatly transformed. The reconstructed Mandongmyo was respected as the national shrine, but subjected to oppression by the Japanese imperialism. The 68 years after it was rebuilt, the shrine was destroyed on the charge of inciting the sense of national consciousness.

  • Recognizing that the debate on the original form of the Seokguram Grotto is closely related to the mythologization of the Seokguram Grotto, which is far from factual understanding, this paper is prepared to restore the Seokguram Grotto based on scientific facts. To this end, we will first analyze its active meaning and fiction from three directions: the founding legend, the rediscovery story, and the concept and discourse of the Line of sight for Buddha statue (對佛像視準線), which have contributed to the mythologization of the Seokguram Grotto. The original restoration of the Seokguram Grotto should be based on a scientific understanding of the Seokguram space. However, past debates and restoration attempts have been based on imagination and not on scientific knowledge. Therefore, Chapter 3 attempts a scientific analysis of the light environment of thr Seokguram Grotto and critically examines the existing errors and realistic mythological images to correct the public's spatial perception of Seokguram's architecture and to propose a rational restoration of Seokguram's architectural space.

  • In recent years, beryllium oxide has been widely utilized in multiple compact nuclear reactors as the neutron moderator, the neutron reflector or the matrix material with dispersed nuclear fuels due to its prominent properties. In the past 70 years, beryllium oxide has been studied extensively, but rarely been systematically organized. This article provides a systematic review of the application history, thermal properties, mechanical properties, corrosion behavior and fabrication methods of beryllium oxide. Data from previous literature are extracted and sorted out, and all of these original data are attached as the supplementary material, so that subsequent researchers can utilize this paper as a database for beryllium oxide research in reactor design or simulation analysis, etc. In addition, this review article also attempts to point out the insufficiency of research on beryllium oxide, and the possible key research areas about beryllium oxide in the future.

  • This dissertation is considerably studied Faction Genre which is embossed as a new image content, and it is figured out practical used works' possibilities for Korea film production's varieties. Faction, a neologism, which is combined by Fiction and Fact, is a boundary as limits. If authentic history is closed to a truth, it is a record history description method. Also, if unauthorized history is closed to a fake, it is a fictitious history description method. In addition, macro history and micro history are respectively connected to social criticism's matter and personal action, and these can make various analyses, depend on a boundary's limits and personal analysis. On the other hand, history film could be remembered to audience merely history film itself without existed history's fact. However, there are Faction Genre's Genre possibility and film's attraction which indirectness experience of historic fact could be experienced through film. For Faction Genre’s developing solution, there are three cognitive switches; audience's interpretation ability about history film through watching perception, linking between the past and the present for audience through communication with history, audience's considerable decision about history first or fiction first as film writer's interpretation. Above all, hopefully filmic pressure can be shown with historical true to audience. Therefore, it would be Korea Faction Genre's attraction and hope.

  • Balhae was an ancient Korean kingdom that existed almost 1,300 years ago. It was a dynamic time in the Korean history when the national strength was building up in terms of politics, economy and culture, thereby called as "Haedongseongguk, the powerhouse in the East". Balhae had dominated parts of Manchuria and the northern part of the Korean peninsula between the late 7th century and the 10th century, occupying the center stage of the northern Korean history. It serves as a window to the East Asia in the present as well as in the past. Yet, due to its geography spanning from the North Korea to Kilin Province of China to part of Heilongjiang Province and to the Littoral Province of Siberia, Balhae has been the center of historical disputes among neighboring countries that insist it is part of each of their own history. China argues that it was a prefecture of the Tang Dynasty, established by the Mohe, not a successor to Goguryeo, which is a China-oriented viewpoint of history. In addition, Russia recognizes Balhae as their first-ever medieval feudal state since the Littoral Province is now under their sovereignty. Therefore, the restoration of Balhae history is in line with the veritable establishment of the ancient Korean history. For this, it is necessary to embrace inter-disciplinary achievements and to continue efforts to adopt them rather than to blame the shortage of historical documents and the difficulty of the excavation of relics. If fashion is "a visual symbol" of our society, beauty culture serve as a mirror to reflect our civilization and culture directly or indirectly. Still, it is not easy to draw similarities by analyzing and comparing the attributes of various cultures and civilizations party because the essence of culture lies in diversity. Nevertheless, it is believed that cultural liaison as well as geographical liaison can be a medium to compensate for the limits of the foreign exchange history of Southeast Asia in proving the relationship between Goguryeo and Balhae, by examining and speculating beauty culture that reflect their period. It was confirmed by various documents regarding Goguryeo out of relics, historical sites and documents. Mural paintings showed how the people of Balhae wore and accessorized themselves. They also allowed us to speculate their way of living. As the contemporary historians can assert that Balhae is part of the Korean history thanks to the realism scholars in the late Joseon Dynasty, who rediscovered the Balhae history and conducted practical researches, it is expected that researchers who study beauty culture contribute to completing the restoration of the Balhae history by thoroughly examining our history, costume and beauty culture.
