Evaluation of Comfort Limit on High Speed Railway Bridge Vibration Considering Passenger's Comfort (승차감을 고려한 고속철도 교량 진동사용성 평가)

  • This paper aims for proposed the deflection limit on vibration serviceability of high-speed railway bridges considering passenger's comfort when a train passes a railway bridge. The vertical acceleration signals of passenger cars obtained from test were compared with them from the bridge-train transfer function by riding KTX. The deflections by KTX of seven high speed railway bridges were assumed as sine and haversine wave. The deflection limit on vibration serviceability of high-speed railway bridges considering passenger's comfort when a train passes a railway bridge duration can be expanded using bridge-train transfer function and bridge comfort limit considering serviceability due to bridge vibration. And it was compared to other allowable deflection limits of railway bridge design specifications.

Development on a Transmission Unit for a Plug Type Passenger Door (플러그 방식 승객용 출입문의 변속장치 개발)

  • Since the plug type passenger door has two modes of motion, a power transmission unit must be capable of plug-in or plug-out mode, and sliding mode. Complex planetary gear train is proposed, which is composed of two 2K-H, I type planetary gear units. For the proposed complex planetary gear train, ranges of addendum modification coefficients which would not lead to interferences are analyzed, and optimal addendum modification coefficients among these ranges which generate the maximum efficiency are presented. Based on the results of analysis on interferences, efficiencies and torque ratios, the specifications for the complex planetary gear train were determined. It has been shown by tests of the complex planetary gear train manufactured that the gear train worked well with good agreements of analysis.

  • The public interest on the indoor air quality of a high-speed train passenger cabin is drastically increasing due to the sealing of cabin. In this study, the concentration of volatile organic compounds and suspended microorganism in the high-speed train passenger cabin was investigated. There have been many studies on the indoor air quality of the high-speed passenger cabin, but the study on the indoor air quality without boarding of passengers were hardly carried out. As a result, it was very difficult to identify the exact source of air pollutants in the cabin. In this study, the indoor air quality of passenger cabin without any passengers was investigated so that the contribution of passengers as the source of various pollutants could be estimated.

  • The challenge to be faced in public transportation today is to satisfy human needs with the least delay, with the smallest number of accidents, and with the most economic use of energy, space, materials, man-power and money. One possible solution may lie in city train system, including AGT system. Specially, Passenger space in AGT is important to balance the budget of layout with passenger's satisfaction. This study focuses on lay-out and space, comfort which should be considered from the conceptual design stage of the interior layout work. Traditionally, the interior layout of the passenger room has emphasized ridequality and style. However, as the train becomes more prevalent and versatile, the focus also tends to shift toward layout and space to have comfortable circumstances. After all, the purpose of this research focused on arrangement a rational interior layout of the train through ergonomics research. Finally, the key was ensuring the comfortable environment based on cultural background of the passenger.

  • The pressure transient inside the passenger cabin of high-speed train has been assessed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based on the axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equation. The pressure change inside a train have been calculated using first order difference approximation based on a linear equation between the pressure change ratio inside a train and the pressure difference of inside and outside of the train. The numerical results show that the pressure change inside the new Korean high-seed train passing through a tunnel of Seoul-Busan high-speed line at the speed of 330km/h satisfied well the Korean regulation for pressure change inside a passenger cabin if the train is satisfying the train specification for airtightness required by the regulation.

  • The purpose of the high-speed railway construction is to better satisfy passenger travel demands. Accordingly, the design of the train working plan must also take a full account of the interests of passengers. Aiming at problems, such as the complex transport organization and different speed trains coexisting, combined with the existing research on the train working plan optimization model, the multiobjective bi-level programming model of the high-speed railway passenger train working plan was established. This model considers the interests of passengers as the center and also takes into account the interests of railway transport enterprises. Specifically, passenger travel cost and travel time minimizations are both considered as the objectives of upper-level programming, whereas railway enterprise profit maximization is regarded as the objective of the lower-level programming. The model solution algorithm based on genetic algorithm was proposed. Through an example analysis, the feasibility and rationality of the model and algorithm were proved.

  • Experimental study is conducted to clarify pressure variation of the passenger cabin of conventional train. These pressure variation may give rise to the ear-discomfort. Generally ear-discomfort has been considered as a problem related to high speed train. Because there is also a good progress to speed-up for conventional line, this isn't only a phenomena related to high speed train any longer. In this study, tile pressure variation of interior, gangway and exterior of saemaeul passenger car is measured using the atmospheric pressure sensors in Honam line. From the results of experiment, the pressure variation per second almost close in upon the limitation in the case of Noryong tunnel. Therefore, to accomplish speed-up for conventional train, it may be necessary to study a serial ventilating and the airtightness of carbody.

  • This study was executed to investigate the components making passenger satisfied or unsatisfied for the domestic train seats, and the patterns of the behavior that passenger taking in the train. These results would help in developing the high-speed train seat that adapts the Korean body structure and emotion. This investigation was done for 436 persons who taking in Saemaeul, Mukungwha, Tongil train during the January 1998. In addition subjective evaluations for texture properties, color, and pattern of the seat covers were investigated for 32 subjects in the lab under the controled condition in order to find to which one Korean prefer. The result shows that it is important to enhance the ride quality, and for coverage passenger prefers the soft texture, blue tone color, and abstract pattern.

  • This study is about design of vehicle for air tightness to pressure waves of high speed train. When the train runs to high speed over 300km/h, the comfort of passenger come down due to difference pressure between inside and outside of passenger room. The car-body was carried out the design of air-tightness, and the analysis of inside pressure of vehicle in tunnel by TG_TUN of ALSTOM Co. The result of analysis should be used the design of air pressurized system and car-body of G7 high speed train project.
