The Impact of Using Some Participatory E-learning Strategies in Developing Skills of Designing and Producing Electronic Courses for A sample of Umm Al-Qura University Students and their Innovative Thinking

  • The current research aims to reveal the impact of using some participatory e-learning strategies (participatory product - classroom web simulation) in developing cognitive achievement, electronic course design skills, and - skills list - Torrance test of innovative thinking). The tools of innovative thinking among a sample of Information Science students. To achieve the objectives of current research, the researcher designed an educational website to train students to produce electronic courses via the web, according to the two participatory e-learning strategies. The researcher used a set of tools represented in (achievement test research and experimental treatment were applied to a sample of the Faculty of Computer students at Umm Al-Qura University. The results found that both participatory product strategy and web simulation have an imact on developing learning aspects discussed in the research. As for which of the two strategies had a greater impact than the other, it turned out that the web simulation strategy had a greater impact than the participatory product strategy in developing these aspects.

건강증진을 위한 지역사회 기반 참여연구의 적용 방안 (Using Community-Based Participatory Research(CBPR) for Health Promotion)

  • Community-Based Participatory Research(CBPR) has gained attention as a public health approach to develop community health interventions to address health disparities in recognition of the community relevance of specific health issues associated with social determinants of health. It emphasizes community involvement in equal partnership with researchers and public health professionals to address community-identified needs. The characteristics and principles of CBPR discussed in this paper highlight participatory nature, capacity development, partnership building, and process-orientation of CBPR. A 6-step process model for community empowerment is then introduced as a CBPR operationalization strategy. Mixed methods research approaches are valuable in CBPR as well as process evaluation. For the application of CBPR in Korean contexts, the Diffusion of Innovation theory is suggested as a theoretical framework for implementation. Building public health partnerships between public and private sectors to create partnership synergy is a necessary condition for successful CBPR for health promotion in Korea. Accompanying critical factors for the CBPR application include: common understanding of CBPR and its values, establishment of the definition of 'community,' 'community-based' and 'participation' in community health, development of accommodating research infrastructure for CBPR, recognition of the importance of program evaluation (particularly process evaluation), and training CBPR specialists.

근로자의 건강증진에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰 참여적 실행연구와 지역사회기반 참여연구 중심으로 (A Systematic Review of The Health Promotion for Workers; Participatory Action Research and Community Based participatory Research)

  • 본 연구는 사업장과 지역사회에서 이루어진 PAR, CBPR을 중심으로 국내 외 문헌을 체계적 고찰을 하였다. 검토된 10개 논문의 연구 참여자는 보건전문가, 지역사회 네트워크, 근로자, 대학 연구자가 포함된 연구가 80%였고, 적용된 실행연구 기반 건강증진 프로그램은 안전 건강관리인식, 금연, 당뇨관리, 신체활동, 자기효능감 증진, 심혈관 질환, 근골격계 질환, 정신 건강 등 다양했다. 건강증진을 위해서는 지역사회 공동 작업을 통해 연구에 주도적으로 참여하는 것이 필수적이며, 이런 과정을 통하여 지역사회 차원의 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 또한 협력하며 건강증진프로그램을 개발하고 적용했을 때 지속가능한 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. PAR, CBPR은 개인과 조직, 지역사회, 제도적 차원의 범위를 조정하여 지속적인 변화를 추구할 것으로 사료되므로 다양한 사업장에서 근로자를 대상으로 활발히 수행되길 기대한다.

학교건축 사용자 참여디자인의 효율적 운영 방법 연구 (A Study on the Efficient Operation Methodology of User Participatory Design for School Facilities)

  • The user participatory design process collects users' opinions efficiently through a feedback process such as various user workshops and conferences. When users who actually participated in a design process use the facility in which they were a participant, their satisfaction with the design quality of the facility they use may be enhanced; therefore, user participatory design methods in school construction are deemed to enlarge consistently the interest in a school of students, parents, teachers, and local residents. This paper selected the most appropriate user participatory design methods through an analysis of actually applied cases, and applied them to the empirical exploration process. Also, problems incurred through the empirical exploration process were solved by various user participatory design methods based on actually experienced cases and the results of workshops performed. As such, this paper deduced problems by applying user participatory design methods in practice, and solved problems by executing the empirical exploration process again. Through this, the paper proposed a variety of user participatory design methods for improving school design and raising user satisfaction.

슬로시티 상주의 운영방안과 주민참여 (Participatory Planning for Operating Slowcity Sangju)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest better ways for operating Slowcity Sangju based on the literature reviews about Participatory planning and empirical investigation. As a form of participatory planning, survey was conducted and examined the perception of residents toward importance of different sub-plans in operating Slowcity. The results show that the residents in Sangju have high level of preference on the economy related plans such as adding values to local products by applying the name of Slowcity to their resources. In addition, the more expectation and understanding to slowcity they have, the more interested in the participatory process and slowcity planning the residents become. Consequently, this research suggests that it is required for successful participatory planning of Slowcity to building an association for operating Slowcity with local peoples.

The Influences of Participatory Management and Corporate Governance on the Reduction of Financial Information Asymmetry: Evidence from Thailand

  • The purposes of this research were: 1) to investigate the effect of participatory management on financial information asymmetry, 2) to investigate the effect of corporate governance on financial information asymmetry, 3) to examine the influences of benefits incentives on financial information asymmetry, and 4) to test the mediating effects of benefits incentive that influences the relationship between participatory management, corporate governance, and financial information asymmetry. The research sample consisted of 388 Thai-listed firms. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire. Descriptive analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling were used for the data analysis. The results revealed: 1) participatory management and participation in evaluation had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 2) Corporate governance and the rights of shareholders had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 3) Benefits incentive was negatively associated with financial information asymmetry. 4) The model's influences of participatory management, corporate governance on the reduction of financial information asymmetry through benefits incentive as mediator fit the empirical data (Chi-square = 104.459, df = 84, p = 0.065, GFI = 0.967, RMSEA = 0.025). The variables in the model explained 78.00% and 4.70 % of the variance of benefits incentive and financial information asymmetry, respectively.

금정초등학교 계획을 위한 방법론 탐색 (A Design Method for Keum jeong Elementary School)

  • This research is intended to establish the design method for Keum Jeong Elementary School. Establishing the design method is based on the participatory method of Davidson Elementary School designed by Sanoff. Due to the limitation of space and time given to the task which is to design the open school for Keum Jeong Elementary School, the design method is proposed not as the direct participatory method but as the indirect one. The indirect participatory design for Keum Jeong Elementary School is performed by various fields' specialists consisted of practical architect, architectural theorist, and the one who is professionally interested in pedagogy, etc.

Differentiated impacts of SNSs on Participatory Social Capital in Korea

  • This study investigates whether different SNS with different characteristics have different impacts on participatory social capital in Korea. At least in Korea, SNS are categorized into five types (community, blog, micro-blog, profile-based service and instant message service), and participatory social capital is specified by three types (off-line political participation, on-line political participation, on-line civic engagement). Using Nielsen KoreanClick's web-based survey data, our regression analysis shows that SNS which are more open and focused on information sharing contribute more to participatory social capital.

  • 본고는 노동·고용정책비서관실을 대상으로 참여정부 대통령기록 분석작업을 시도하였다. 이러한 시도는 대통령기록 평가, 대통령기록의 이용활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 나아가 참여정부 노동정책에 대한 평가가 기록을 바탕으로 이루어지는 연구 환경 조성에도 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 본고는 의사결정 전 과정을 확인할 수 있는 문서관리카드의 증거적 가치에 주목하였다. 이는 곧 참여정부 대통령기록이 갖는 질적 측면의 우수성을 웅변하는 것이라 할 수 있다.

미라(Mira)를 활용한 다중 참여형 영상시스템 연구 (Research on Multiple Participatory Video System using Mira)

  • 최근 다양하게 시도되고 있는 다중 참여형 인터랙티브 미디어 디자인은 관객 참여가 핵심요소로 작용되고 있다. 따라서 논의하려는 관점을 참여단계의 유형과 참여 유형의 특성을 고찰하고 참여유형의 변별성을 확보하고자 한다. 사용자 참여 분석을 통해 추출된 참여유형은 다중적 능동적 참여 유형으로 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 미라(Mira)를 활용하여 참여 범주를 영상 파트와 사운드 파트로 구분하였고, 'The 360 Project'라는 최종 영상시스템을 구현하는 과정에서 파생되는 문제점과 해결책을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 한계점으로는 제시된 참여 유형이 협소하다는 점과 개발된 최종 결과물 분석까지 제시하지 못한 점이다. 향후 연구를 통하여 상기 한계점을 보완하고 보다 발전된 다중 참여형 작품 및 연구가 지속되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.
