This paper presents resarch results on the use of a corona detector and a pulse counter in order to diagnose for oil transformers. Using these experimental apparatus, tests were carried out on a typical transformer oil containing different carbonized paper and various moisture contents to measure the picocoulomb val-ues and pulse count. Through the result of this study it was found that the picocoulomb values and pulse count of corona were depended on the getting stained in transformer oil. The amplitude of the partial discharge amount and the number of pulse were decreased up to 70 [。c] and then was increased as the oil temperature goes up. It was concluded that the determinati-on level for diagnosis of oil transform-er was taken into account the temperatu-er of transformer oil, The use of pulse counter method, which have been taken the same property of voltage and temperature variation for the corona measurement mothod, considera-bly increase insulator avilability.
Insulators for high-voltage and large-power should be endured mechanically the weight of mold bushing itself and the force of pushed from contact with circuit breaker and conductor. But dielectric breakdown could be occurred result from the external circumstances and internal factors such as chemical reaction, partial discharge, change of temperature and the relation of temperature-time in process of casting. Therefore, to get rid of external and internal factors of dielectric breakdown. Furthermore, to prevent the internal cracks, void, cavity which resulted from the contraction originated on the interface between copper and epoxy resin, formed semi-conductive layer with partially carbon painted on copper bar. The PD properties and the insulation qualities of epoxy molded insulators were improved by roles of cushions for the direction of diameter and natural sliding effects as like separated from conductor for the direction of length.
The sealing integrity is related to the safe operation of arrester the prime failure reason of porcelain housed arresters is moisture ingress. To be a meaningful tests a polymer arrester sealing test must be a realistic acceleration of field service. We think the test should be an accelerating course of actual temperatures, the enduring property to mechanical load and temperatures should be considered together. A union test method consisting of the thermal mechanical test and thermal cycling test is proposed to test the sealing integrity of polymeric arresters, which uses dielectric loss, leakage current 1mA DC voltage and partial discharge as the diagnostic techniques, and the test results were presented. The comparison states that the TMTCUT method is suitable fur the test of sealing integrity of polymeric arresters. .
Rare-earth (RE) nitrides can be used as magnetocaloric materials in low temperature. They exhibit ferromagnetism and have Curie temperature in the region from 6 to 70 K. In this study, Holmium nitride (HoN) nano particles were prepared through plasma arc discharge technique and their magnetocaloric properties were studied. Nitrogen gas ($N_2$) was employed as an active element for arc discharge between two electrodes maintained at a constant current. Also, it played an important role not only as a reducing agent but also as an inevitable source of excited nitrogen molecules and nitrogen ions for the formation of HoN phase. Partial pressure of $N_2$ was systematically varied from 0 to 28,000 Pa in order to obtain single phase of HoN with minimal impurities. Magnetic entropy change (${\Delta}S_m$) was calculated with data set measured by PPMS (Physical Property Measurement System). The as-synthesized HoN particles have shown a magnetic entropy change ${\Delta}S_m$) of 27.5 J/kgK in applied field of 50,000 Oe at 14.2 K thereby demonstrating its ability to be applied as an effective magnetic refrigerant towards the re-liquefaction of hydrogen.
The thin film that is electrically conductive and optically transparent is called conductive transparent thin film. ITO(Indium-Tin Oxide) which is a kind of conductive transparent thin film has been widely used in solar cell, transparent electrical heater, selective optical filter, FDP(Flat Display Panel) such as LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and so on. Especially in PDP, ITO films is used as a transparent electrode in order to maintain discharge and decrease consumption power through the improvement of cell structure. In this study, we prepared ITO by reactive r.f. sputtering with indium-tin(Sn wt 10%) alloy target instead of indium-tin oxide target. The ITO films deposited at low temperature $150^{\circ}C$ and 8% $O_2$ partial pressure showed about $3.6{\Omega}/{\square}$. At the end of firing, the resistance of ITO was decreased, the optical transparence was improved above 90%.
Austenitic stainless steel (STS304) has been carburized using glow discharge plasma and its microstructure, wear resistance and corrosion property have been investigated. A repeat boost-diffuse carburizing was used as an effective plasma carburizing method. The effective case depth of the plasma carburized specimens was increased with the carbon concentration at the surface area. The specimens prepared by 3 hours plasma carburizing under $600^{\circ}C$ did not have the standard hardness for the effective case depth, but the specimen prepared by 11 hours plasma carburizing at $500^{\circ}C$ had nearly the same hardness with the specimen plasma carburized for 3 hours at $800^{\circ}C$. The wear resistance increased with temperature but the corrosion properties of the specimens prepared over $600^{\circ}C$ decreased rapidly due to the grain boundary sensitization. However, the specimen plasma carburized for 11 hours at $500^{\circ}C$ had nearly the same wear resistance with the specimen plasma carburized for 3 hours at $800^{\circ}C$ without deterioration of corrosion property. This could be resulted from the fact that the microstructure of the specimen plasma carburized for 11 hours at $500^{\circ}C$ was composed of martensite and austenite, because a partial martensite transformation was occurred only in the specimen plasma carburized for 11 hours at 50$0^{\circ}C$.

In the last decade it has been witnessed significant developments in the area of nano particles and nano scale fillers on electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties of polymeric materials such as resins, varnishes, enamel and bakelites. The electric and thermal properties were more important in the electrical equipments for both steady state and transient state conditions. This paper deals with the characterization of the electric and thermal properties of the pure varnish and zirconia (ZrO2) filler mixed varnish. The electric properties such as dielectric loss (tan δ), dielectric constant (ε), dielectric strength and partial discharge voltage were analyzed and detailed for different samples. It was observed that zirconia nano filler mixed varnish has the superior dielectric and thermal properties when compared to those of standard varnish. It has shown that at power frequency the 1wt% nano composite sample has the higher permittivity value when compared to other samples. It has been examined that the 1wt% sample was having higher inception and extinction voltages when compared to other samples. It has been observed that 1wt% sample has higher dielectric strength when compared with other samples. There has been an improvement of thermal property by adding few weight percent of zirconia nano fillers. There was not much variation in glass transition among the nano mixed composites. The weight loss was improved at 1wt% of the zirconia nano fillers.
In this paper, chamber(Circuit breaker compartment of C-GIS) made of stainless steel with 4 mm width is used. Artificial defect was made on enclosure or HV conductor of chamber and $SF_6$ gas was injected into it according to pressure. In this experiment, Acoustic emission sensors of different types was used to compare sensitivity to detect acoustic signal occurred by Partial discharge(PD) of according to types and resonance frequency in $SF_6$ gas atmosphere. Sensors used in tests was R6I, R15I and 2/4/6 Pre-Amplifier connected with R6IU without pre. amp. In case of R6IU, gain was adjusted with 40 dB like other sensors and operated by differential mode. Post amplifier(post. amp) and band pass filter(BPF) were developed Gain of post. amp. is 60 dB and BPF has band width of $50{\sim}300$ kHz. Also, envelope circuit developed reduces frequency of AE sensor. As a result, in $SF_6$ atmosphere, R6IU and R6I had resonance frequency of 60 Hz was better than R15I. Also, R6IU was better than R6I because of type property of pre.amp. had differential mode.

As rechargeable metal-air batteries will be ideal energy storage devices in the future, an active cathode electrocatalyst is required with bi-functionality on both oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) during discharge and charge, respectively. Here, a class of perovskite cathode catalyst with a micro-tubular structure has been developed by controlling bi-functionality from different Ru and Ni dopant ratios. A micro-tubular structure is achieved by the activated carbon fiber (ACF) templating method, which provides uniform size and shape. At the perovskite formula of $LaCrO_3$, the dual dopant system is successfully synthesized with a perfect incorporation into the single perovskite structure. The chemical oxidation states for each Ni and Ru also confirm the partial substitution to B-site of Cr without any changes in the major perovskite structure. From the electrochemical measurements, the micro-tubular feature reveals much more efficient catalytic activity on ORR and OER, comparing to the grain catalyst with same perovskite composition. By changing the Ru and Ni ratio, the $LaCr_{0.8}Ru_{0.1}Ni_{0.1}O_3$ micro-tubular catalyst exhibits great bi-functionality, especially on ORR, with low metal loading, which is comparable to the commercial catalyst of Pt and Ir. This advanced catalytic property on the micro-tubular structure and Ru/Ni synergy effect at the perovskite material may provide a new direction for the next-generation cathode catalyst in metal-air battery system.
