In this paper, we derive unbiased estimators for the sensitivities of expected performance measures in a Markov renewal process. We restrict our derivation to the performance measures during a busy cycle and apply smoothed perturbation analysis method to find those esti-mators. The results show all the terms in the derived estimators can be obtained from a single sample path.

The performance study shows the result using two different methods which are used to control missile or aircraft. One is the Thrust Vector Control(TVC) method for the aviation of next generation and the other is the present effective Shroud Jet-vane System(SJVS) method for the satellite effector development. The research was done through the performance estimation using the numerical simulation analysis, the modelling, the performance measuring using the model, the investigation of the flow visualization and aerodynamic performance with the enforced power to the vane and the result comparison.

In this paper, we propose the model to measure and compare the performances of the Linux, PC_Solaris and FreeBSD which are the heterogeneous PC based UNIX kernels connected by network. Using the stop-watch timer with the $mutextrm{s}$ unit, we measure the important performance indices of UNIX kernels which are the primitive and command execution time and disk I/O time. Also we measure the message transfer time using the TCP, UDP and RPC methods to compare the network performance of UNIX kernels. And we compare the performance of NFS for each UNIX kernels. And we display the measured data on internet.

In this study we consider a CONWIP system studied in Park and Lee [1] in which the processing times at each station follow a Coxian distribution and the demands for the finished products arrive according to a compound Poisson process. The demands that are not satisfied Immediately are either backordered or lost according to the number of demands that exist at their arrival instants. For this system using the results in [1] we develop an approximation method to calculate order based performance measures such as the mean time of fulfilling a customer order and the mean number of customer orders. To test the accuracy of the approximation method, the results obtained from the approximation method are compared with those obtained by simulation. Comparisons with simulation have shown that the approximate method provides fairly good results.

Several synthetic testing methods have widely been used for the performance evaluation of ultra high-voltage circuit breaker. Among these synthetic method, in the paper, capacitance switching testing method which can meet the test requirements and increase the testing capacity has been proposed. This method is made up of two separated sources of short-circuit generator for current source and L-C resonance circuit for voltage source. By using this method, KERI will perform the performance evaluation of capacitive current switching performance for the 800kV GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker).

In this paper, the position control performance of networked control systems is analyzed when time delay through the network is considered. Integrating a control system into a network has great advantages over the traditional control system which uses point to point connection: it allows remarkable reduction in wiring, makes it easy to install and maintain the system, and improves compability. However, a networked control system has the critical defect that network uncertainties, such as time delay, can degrade the control system's performance. Therefore, the major concern of a networked control system is analyzing the effect of network uncertainties. This paper is concerned with PID controller performance for stability region, critical stability region and unstability region under the time delay in the Controller Area Network.

Precast beam column joints with thru-connectors are developed from precedent study. The seismic performance is evaluated by experimental method. The test results of the precedent study showed that failure modes for all specimens were a compression failure by characteristics of unbonded tendon. Thus, variable considered in the research program for a tensile failure include the use of dog-boned longitudinal steel and concrete confined with steel spirals. The analysis of structural characteristics and evaluation of seismic performance of specimens was conducted by the experimental way. Comparison of result with the test specimens indicates that seismic performance is higher than the precedent study due to concrete confinement effect from steel spirals.

The present study aims at establishing the design procedure of regenerative pumps. It is based on the new momentum exchange theory proposed in Yoo, Park and Chung. Salient feature of the present design procedure is that it does not require input of any kinds of empirical design data. Using the design procedure, a prototype regenerative pump has been designed and manufactured to confirm its validity. Comparison between the predicted performance and the experimental measurement reveals that the prototype pump has its maximum efficiency at the design flow rate and that the proposed performance analysis method satisfactorily predicts the machine performance.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify nurses' self-leadership, organizational commitment and their nursing performance, and examine the relationship among them. Method: A total of 330 clinical nurses with more than one year nursing experiences were recruited from 10 hospitals in G city and J province in Korea. Data were collected using questionnaires from March, 12 to April 21, 2007. For data analyzed using SPSS 12.0 for windows program, Results: There were significant positive correlations between self-leadership, organizational commitment, and independent, dependent, and interpersonal nursing performances. In addition, the organizational commitment had significant positive correlations with independent, dependent, and interpersonal nursing performances. Conclusion: These findings suggest that nurses' organizational commitment and nursing performance ability will be enhanced by hospitals' active supports such as empowering individual nurses' self-leadership through enlarging their autonomy and strengthening their ability to control themselves.

The Performance of in-line duct fan depends on the design parameters of impeller and guide vane. such as sweep back angle of impeller, the number of blades, outlet blade angle, guide vane angle etc. In this experimental study total four kinds of impellers having different sweep back angles, $90^{\circ},\;72.5^{\circ},\;55^{\circ},\;37.5^{\circ}$ with 8 guide vanes, different the number of blades, 6ea, 8ea, 10ea, 12ea, different kinds of outlet blade angles, $30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ}.\;60^{\circ}$ and different kinds of guide vane angles, $15^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ}$ were selected and their performance measured to investigate the effects of them. The results were non-dimensionalized to compare their performance.
