This paper provides the steady-state UPFC model referred as UPFC injection model for power flow control. The application of UPFC for the line overload alleviation is demonstrated through a numerical example. It is shown that UPFC has the capability of regulating the power flow, therefore alleviating the line overload.

We have investigated the electrical characteristics of a MOSFET-structured silicon field emitter by employing Maxwell 2D and Silvaco simulators. The potential distribution is obtained by Maxwell 2D simulator and the field emission current is calculated by Fowler-Nordheim equations. The characteristics of MOSFET is simulated by Silvaco simulator. Simulated results are almost identical to the experimental results. Also, we have studied the emission characteristics as funtions of several geometric parameters.

본 논문에서는 자외선 처리방식의 선박평형수 처리시스템의 최적 설계를 위하여 동일 소비전력에서 살균 챔버의 구성에 따른 해수처리성능에 대하여 기술하였다. 20 W 저압 자외선 램프 9개를 설치한 살균챔버와 10 W 저압 자외선 램프를 18개 사용한 2단 구성의 살균챔버를 사용하여, 15 $m^3$/h로 해수를 처리하고 처리 전후의 해수내 미생물에 대한 처리성능을 비교.분석하였다.

본 논문에서는 에너지 절감형 선박평형수 처리시스템 개발을 위하여, 저압 자외선 램프의 살균효율의 증대를 위한 광촉매 처리방법에 대하여 기술하였다. $TiO_2$ 광촉매를 석영관 주위에 감싸는 방법으로 살균챔버 내부에 설치하고 253.7 nm파장의 자외선과 광촉매에 의한 해수내 미생물 살균효과를 분석하였다.

The ${\Delta}^5$ sterols were measured in be sediments of Jinhae Bay surrounded by industrial cities to assess the sewage-derived contamination. The total concentrations of total sterols ranged from 2.03 to 19.56 ${\mu}g/g$ dry wt. The principal sterol was cholesterol with a contribution of more than 50% to total sterols. Coprostanol, providing an indication of long-term sewage loads, was found in all sediment samples and the concentrations were 0.03-3.86 ${\mu}g/g$ dry wt, accounting for 1-26% to total sterols. The cluster analysis of sampling stations indicated that the sewage-derived contamination was localized in inner Masan Bay.

This paper describes the measurement and location method of partial discharges in high voltage CV cables. Coupling capacitors were used to detect partial discharge signal. Impedance characteristic of the coupling circuit and an amplifier with a high Common Mode Rejection Ratio(CMRR) were studied to improve sensitivity of the circuit. From the calibration experiment, the sensitivity of the partial discharge detection circuit was about 100pC. Also, we confirmed that the location of partial discharges in cables can be estimated by calculation of time difference between the first pulse and the second one reflected from the other end of the cable.

This paper deals with the design rule and performance results of the surge protective devices (SPDs) for low-voltage mains on shipboard. The proposed SPDs consists of a metal oxide varistors (MOV) and a L-C filter to improve noise-elimination performance. Three kinds of SPDs are fabricated and tested by using a combination surge generator which produce the standard impulse current of 8/20${\mu}s$ 2.1kA. As a results, the proposed SPDs with series L-C filter have more excellent transient blocking and noise reduction performance than the conventional ones.
