chiro-Inositol (카이로이노시톨) 결핍성 대사질환 당뇨병과 대두 chiro-inositol의 영양학적, 의 ${\cdot}$ 약리학적 용도

  • 본 실험실에서는 혈당강하효과를 갖는 chiroinositol을 다량 함유하고 있는 식품이나 식용물질을 탐색하여 선발하고, 선택된 식품이나 식용물질에서 chiroinositol을 lab-scale로 분리 정제하여 제조된 chiroinositol의 추출물로 동물실험을 실시하여 혈당강하효과를 증명하고 그 기작을 연구하고 있다. 약 300여종의 식품 및 식용물질을 GC-MS 및 HPLC로 분석한 결과 식품으로 안전한 탈지대두와 두부 순물에서 chiroinositol의 함량이 각각 6.45mg/g, 20mg/g으로 조사되어 선택되었고, chiroinositol의 순도가 40-60%(w/w)인 chiroinositol의 추출물을 이용하여 동물실험을 통한 혈당강하효과를 조사한 결과, 1) steptozotocin(STZ)으로 유발된 고혈당쥐에 경구투여시, 농도 의존적으로 혈당을 감소시키는 탁월한 기능을 나타내었고, 2) 정상쥐의 혈당제거율 검사(glucose tolerance test)에서강한 제거율 및 6시간의 지속시간을 나타내었으며, 3) STZ로 유발된 고혈당쥐의 혈당제거율 검사에서 강한 혈당강하 효과(약 40%)를 나타내었으며 지속시간은 약 12시간이었다. 4) 극심한 고혈당(450 내지 500mg/d)의 경우, 경미한 고혈당(300내지 350mg/d)의 경우보다 혈당 감소율이 20% 가량 높았으며, 지속시간도 1시간 이상 긴 것으로 나타났으며, 5) 인슐린과 복합처리 했을 때 상승작용(synergy)을 나타내었으며, 저혈당증으로 전혀 발전되지 않았다.

형방패독산(荊防敗毒散)이 DNFB로 유발된 생쥐의 알레르기접촉피부염에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Hyeongbangpaedok-san (HBPDS) on Allergic Contact Dermatitis (ACD) induced by DNFB in Mice)

  • Objectives The present study was carried out to investigate effects of HBPDS on allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) induced by 2,4-Dinitro-1-fluorobenzene (DNFB) in mice. Methods In this experiment, effects of HBPDS on body weights, skin thicknesses, skin weights, histopathological changes, clinical aspects, erythema index, melanin index, production levels of cytokines in ACD mice were investigated. In addition, effects on proliferation rates, release of ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase and histamine were also investigated in vitro. Results & Conclusions 1) HBPDS inhibited enlargement of skin thickness and weight significantly (P < 0.05). 2) HBPDS treatment prevented spongiosis, edema and immune cell infiltrations. 3) Erythema, desquamation and keratosis were diminished by oral administration of HBPDS. 4) Production levels of TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma in serum were decreased by HBPDS treatment in vivo. 5) More than 200 ${\mu}g/ml$ of HBPDS treatment decreased ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase release and more than 400 ${\mu}g/ml$ of HBPDS treatment also decreased histamine release in vitro.

태음인(太陰人) 조열증(燥熱證)으로 진단한 관절염 동반 쇼그렌 증후군 치험례 (Case Report of Sjögren's Syndrome with Arthritis diagnosed as Taeeumin's Dry-febrile Symptom)

  • Objectives This study was designed to evaluate the effects of Korean medicine therapy(Cheongsimyeonja-tang) on Taeeumin patients diagnosed with Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome with arthritis. Methods The Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome with arthritis patient was treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang. The progress was evaluated with the visual analogue scale and erythrocyte sedimentation rate on hematologic examination. Results There was improvement in the patient's Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome symptoms. The patient's symptoms of the alimentary system, dried fever and arthralgia evaluated with the visual analogue scale improved. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate was decreased on hematologic examination. Conclusions This study suggests that Korean medicine(Cheongsimyeonja-tang) is effective in the treatment of Sj$\ddot{o}$gren's syndrome on Taeumin patients.

김치와 김치의 건강기능성 (Kimchi and Its Functionality)

  • Kimchi is a traditional Korean fermented vegetable probiotic food. The use of high quality ingredients and predominant LAB (lactic acid bacteria)-whether it be ambient bacteria or adding starters, low temperature and facultative anaerobic condition for the fermentation are important factors for preparing kimchi with better taste and functionality. The predominated LAB genera are Leuconostoc, Lactobacillus, and Weissella in kimchi fermentation. The representative species are Leu. mesenteroides, Leu. citrium, Lab. plantarum, Lab. sakei, and Wei. koreensis. Kimchi, especially the optimally fermented kimchi, has various health benefits, including control of colon health, antioxidation, antiaging effects, cancer preventive effect, antiobesity, control of dyslipidemic and metabolic syndrome, etc.; due to the presence of LAB, various nutraceuticals, and metabolites from the ingredients and LAB. The kimchi LAB are good probiotics, exhibiting antimicrobial activity, antioxidant, antimutagenic and anticancer effects, as well as immunomodualatory effect, antiobesity, and cholesterol and lipid lowering effects. Thus, kimchi ingredients, LAB, fermentation methods, and metabolites are important factors that modulate various functionalities. In this review, we introduced recent information showing kimchi and its health benefits in Korean Functional Foods (Park & Ju 2018).

Comparative Analysis of Historical National Image Advertising in Korea - Video Advertisements Produced between 1998-2017

  • Since national image video advertisements are a means of public relations with wide delivery and major repercussions at home and abroad, this study performs a comparative analysis of video advertisements aired by previous governments as reported by Daejung Kim, Moohyun Roh, Myungbak Lee, and Geunhye Park. The characteristics of the previous governments, whether or not social trends were reflected, and the importance of traditional and modern elements were examined. As we describe, there are clear differences in video advertisements by government regime, and while messages expressing traditional values of Eastern culture have gradually decreased, reflecting the trends of the times, the messages emphasizing the modern values of the West have gradually increased. Our research confirmed that traditional elements such as 'Samulnori' and 'Taekwondo' are gradually disappearing. In addition, it was confirmed that the collective values, traditional values, and humanism represented by the 'large crowd' and 'traditional elements' in the Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun administration changed in the Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye administrations to more individualistic, materialistic, Western values. This study is meaningful in that it analyzed the components and characteristics of national image advertisements by governments in the past, how social trends were reflected, and the weight difference between traditional and modern elements. Based on this research, the significance of the current Moon Jae-in government's groundwork for follow-up research should not be understated.

Inhibition of Interleukin-4 and β-Hexosaminidase Release in RBL-2H3 Cells by Compounds Isolated from Lobelia chinensis

  • Lobelia chinensis Lour. has commonly been used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of antidote, diuretic, diarrhea, and inflammation. This study aimed to identify the active compounds in an aqueous extract of L. chinensis responsible for its anti-atopic effect in vitro using RBL-2H3 cells. A chemical investigation of secondary metabolites in an aqueous extract of L. chinensis led to the isolation of nine chemical constituents, which included the four marker compounds, and these were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on IL-4 mRNA expression and the release of β-hexosaminidase in propidium iodide-induced RBL-2H3 cells. We found diosmetin and fraxidin inhibited cellular IL-4 mRNA expression, and that diosmetin and 6,8-dimethoxycoumarin inhibited DNP-specific IgE-induced degranulation in these cells. Our study suggests that diosmetin, fraxidin, and 6,8-dimethoxycoumarin are potential candidates for the treatment of atopic diseases.

대한민국 정권별 아동복지정책 관련 뉴스 기사 분석: K-평균 군집 분석 (Analysis of News Articles on Child Welfare Policies in South Korea: K-Means Clustering)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze changes of child welfare policies and provide insights based on the collection and classification of newspaper articles. Methods: Articles related to child welfare policies were collected from 1990, during the Kim, Young-sam administration, to May 9, 2022, under the Moon, Jae-in administration. K-Means clustering and keyword Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency analysis were utilized to cluster and analyze newspaper articles with similar themes. Results: The administrations of Kim, Young-sam, Kim, Dae-jung, Roh, Moo-hyun, and Park, Geun-hye were classified into two clusters, and the Lee, Myung-bak and Moon, Jae-in administrations were classified into three clusters. Conclusion: South Korea's child welfare policies have focused on ensuring the safety and healthy development of children through diverse policies initiatives over the years. However, challenges related to child protection and child abuse persist. This requires additional resources and budget allocation. It is important to establish a comprehensive support system for children and families, including comprehensive nursing support.

통일기반 구축을 위한 DMZ 세계평화공원 조성 추진 전략 (Proceeding Strategies for Establishing of the DMZ World Peace Park for the Laying of the Foundation for Unification)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 박근혜정부가 내세우는 DMZ 세계평화공원 조성과 관련하여 남 북한 간의 화해와 협력의 분위기를 조성하여 평화통일의 길로 나아가 궁극적으로 세계평화와 한반도의 항구적인 평화를 구축하기 위한 전략적 추진 과제에 대한을 내용을 분석하고 개선 방향을 도출하고자 연구하였다. 본 연구의 절차와 방법은 DMZ 세계평화 공원 조성은 남 북한과 국제사회의 이해관계 반영 및 남 북한 협의 전략을 비롯하여 분야별 8대 추진 전략에 대한 내용을 분석하여 남북한의 공동 이익과 세계평화에 기여할 수 있도록 전략을 제시하였다. 연구 결과로는 DMZ 세계평화공원 조성을 위한 8대 전략의 추진 가능성을 확인하였으며, 국가와 지방자치단체의 정책적 발전과 지원이 절실하며, 남한 지역만이라도 우선적으로 조성이 필요하다고 보았다. DMZ 세계평화공원 조성 전략의 구체화와 지자체와의 계속적인 공동 노력, 국민들의 공감대 형성 및 홍보 강화 방안 등의 추후 연구 과제를 제시하였다.

국민행복형 소프트웨어 플랫폼 도입 이슈와 구축 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Policy Directions for Implementing the Happy Korea-oriented Software Platform)

  • 박근혜 정부는 국정비전으로 "국민행복, 희망의 새 시대"를 내걸었다. '국민행복형'이란 직접적인 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있고, 사회문제 해결을 가능하게 해준다는 의미를 담고 있으며, 이를 해결할 수 있는 기술은 곧 국민행복형 기술이 된다. 국민행복형 기술의 특성상, 공급자와 수요자 이외에 혜택을 받는 수혜자 집단이 존재하여 두 집단 간의 교류가 제3의 집단에게도 편리를 제공해준다는 점에서 플랫폼의 개념과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국민행복형 소프트웨어 플랫폼을 구축하는 데 있어서 제기되는 이슈와 이를 토대로 나아갈 정책 방향을 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구 목표를 달성하기 위해 먼저 플랫폼 관련 문헌을 검토하고, 전문가 인터뷰를 통해 경제적, 기술적, 인력적 이슈를 도출하였다. 나아가 국민행복형 소프트웨어 플랫폼이 구축 확산되기 위해 필요한 정책방안을 제시하였다.

다결정 다이아몬드 필름의 신경종양세포(SH-SY5Y) 배양 특성 (Characteristic of neuroblastoma cell (SH-SY5Y) culture on the crystalline diamond film)

  • In order to fabricate high sensitive and stable biosensors, we require the material with superior biocompatibility and physical-chemical stability. Many kinds of biomaterials have been evaluated to apply for bioindustry. Recently, carbon based diamond thin films have been focal pointed as bio-applications and their possibility has been evaluated. Diamond thin film has many advantages for electrochemical and biological applications, such as wide potential window (3.0-3.5V), low background current and chemical-physical stability. In this work, we have cultured neuroblastoma cell (SH-SY5Y) on the crystalline diamond films. We use MTT assay to evaluate the characteristic of cell culture on the substrates. As a result, neuroblastoma cell was cultured on the crystalline diamond film as similar as cell culture dish.
