  • This paper introduces a program by which we can extract the optimal parameters from the statistical model, the amplitude probability distribution(APD), of the electromagnetic noise using genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm used in this program has the advantages of the reduction of calculation time, the automation of extraction process, and the operation of global optimization.

  • This paper describes on RF circuit simulation technique, especially on a RF modeling and a model extraction of a LDMOS(Lateral Diffused MOS) that has gate-width (Wg) dependence. Small-signal model parameters of the LDMOSs with various gate-widths extracted from S-parameter data are applied to make the relation between the RF performances and gate-width. It is proved that a source inductance (Ls) was not applicable to scaling rules. These extracted small-signal model parameters are also utilized to remove extrinsic elements in an extraction of a large-signal model (using HP Root MOSFET Model). Therefore, we can omit an additional measurement to extract extrinsic elements. When the large-signal model with Ls having the above gate-width dependence is applied to a high-power LDMOS module, the simulated performances (Output power, etc.) are in a good agreement with experimental results. It is proved that our extracted model and RF circuit simulation have a good accuracy.

  • A relationship between the activity coefficients of tri-n-butylphosphate(TBP) and europium complex was studied in the extraction of europium by TBP in nitric acid solution. Diluents chosen are cyclohexane, toluene, benzene and chlorobenzene. Concentrations of TBP were varied from 5 to 50 by volume percent and the composition of inorganic layer was kept constant. A method of estimating the solubility parameter of TBP is suggested.

  • In this paper, we have fabricated short channel MOSFETs with these parameters to verify the validity of process parameters extraction by DTC method. The experimental results of fabricated short channel devices according to the optimal process parameters demonstrate good device characteristics such as good drain current-voltage characteristics, low body effects and threshold voltage of$\leq$+-.1.0V, high punch through and breakdown voltage of$\leq$12V, low subthreshold swing(S.S) values of$\leq$105mV/decade.

A Novel Phase Extraction for the Detection of Time Parameters in Signal

  • A unique technique to extract the phase in time domain is proposed in order to measure the time parameters such as speed and depth by transmitting sound and electric waves. In the signal analysis processing, the phase of pulse signal can be transformed and digitalized with local data in real time without the effect of direct current bias and Nyquist limits. This method is sensitive to base frequency of pulse signal with high spacial resolution and is effective to compare two signals which have different forms. It is expected that the phase analysis technique will be applied to the measurement of the speed and depth accurately by ultrasonic pulse signal in water.

  • This paper proposes a extraction of feature lines on a polygonal model using local implicit surface fitting technique. To extract feature lines on a polygonal model, the previous technique addressed to compute the curvature and their derivatives at mesh vertices via global implicit surface fitting. It needs a user-specified precision parameter for finding an accurate projection of the mesh vertices onto an approximating implicit surface and requires high-time consumption. But we use a local implicit surface fitting technique to estimate the local differential information near a vertex by means of an approximating surface. Feature vertices are easily detected as zero-crossings, and can then be connected along the direction of principal curvature. Our method, demonstrated on several large polygonal models, produces a good fit which leads to improved visualization.

  • The preliminary study was carried out to utilize the rolling porous pendulum plate as a hybrid system combining blocking and extracting of wave energy. The Galerkin method suggested by Porter and Evans (1995) was used to solve the diffraction and radiation problems to obtain reflection and transmission coefficient, roll displacement, extracted power. The Galerkin method provides better convergence than the matched eigenfunction expansion method (MEEM), which improves the accuracy of the analytical solution even if the CPU time is shorter. The porous plate can not be said to be more effective than the impermeable plate in terms of wave energy extraction and wave blocking, but it has the advantage of reducing the wave load and exchanging seawater.

  • The series parasitic resistances ($R_s$, $R_g$, $R_d$, $R_{sub}$) of BSIM3v3 RF MOSFET macro model were directly extracted from measured S-parameters in the GHz region by using simple 2-port parameter equations. Also, overlap capacitance and junction capacitance parameters were extracted by tuning $S_{11}$, $S_{12}$, and $S_{22}$ respectively while DC-parameters and all parasitic resistances are fixed at previously extracted values. These data are verified to be accurate by observing good correspondence between modeled and measured S-parameters up to 10GHz.

  • The energy parameter is widely used in pre-processing of speech signals, because it represent the phoneme characteristics of well But, the energy parameter is affected by the window length during the extracting. Thus, in this paper, the window length effects are studied in detail, and we proposed a new energy extraction algorithm that reduces the length effects. The energy contours with this algorithm are well representing for the characteristics of speech phonemes. And the computations to implement the algorithm are only required one subtraction, one addition, and two comparison aperation per speech sample.

  • We used a three-dimensional inductance extraction program, Fasthenry for optimal design of the spiral inductors on silicon substrate. The inductance and quality factor of the spiral inductors with various design parameters were calculated so that the optimal parameter value was determined. The spiral inductors then were fabricated using different foundary processes and were measured using the network analyzer and microwave probes. The pad and other parasitics of measurement system were de-embedded using the y-parameter calibration technique. the inductors fabricated using the LG 0.8um process and HP 0.5um process showed the quality factor of 5.8 and 3, respectively. Finally the equivalent circuit farameters of the spiral inductors on silicon substrate were extracted from the measurement data using the matlab.
