High-Speed Elevator Controlled by Voltage-Type PWM Inverter (전압형 PWM 인버터 제어 고속 엘리베이터 시스템)

  • To satisfy the requirements of a stable speed control, comfortable ride and precise landing in the high-speed elevator. The induction motor driving elevator is controlled by inverter using vector control method which calculates optimum torque to apply to the Induction motor. This paper describes the control system of high-speed elevator that consists of the voltage-type PWM converter with an unity input power factor and sinusoidal input current and the voltage-type PWM inverter with a precise speed control and sinusoidal output current. The test results of actual elevator are presented.

  • In this paper, a carrier-based pulse with modulation (PWM) strategy for three-phase three-level inverter is dealt with, which can keep the common mode voltage constant with minimized switching frequency. The voltage gain and the switching frequency in overall operating ranges including overmodulation are investigated and the analytic equations are presented. Finally, the leakage current reduction effect is confirmed by carrying out simulation and experiment. It will be pointed out that the leakage current cannot be perfectly eliminated because of the dead time.

  • This paper proposes the method to reduce output leakage current in single phase induction motor driven a PWM inverter. A proposed method applies to a new PWM switching algorism to reduce low-order harmonic in an inverter system with a feedback circuit of leakage current. Simulation is done to confirm a validity of method Proposed.

  • As a method to improve harmonics in the voltage source PWM inverter, 5 level stair case wave method is used. The complementary transistor inverter (CTI) bridge circuit has this characteristics. This circuit required synchronous type 3 level PWM signal. In this paper, the 3 phase PWM digital signals within about 10 modulation error of the natural sampling was caculated, and a ROM table out of it for the digital signal of the control system was made. According to this table, the digital control method was proposed, and DTI circuit operated by this method was reviewed. It was confirmed to make V/F control possible by the select modulation ratio to the frequency.

  • This paper describes a current control method for a single-phase PWM inverter. The proposed PWM inverter utilizes the instantaneous control method which is based on the real-time digital feedback control and the microprocessor-based deadbeat control. For the deadbeat current controller, the system's order becomes a high order and increases computation delay time. Therefore, The delay time produces current ripple. To minimize the current ripple, a new method based on deadbeat control theory for current regulation is proposed. It is constructed by a reduced-order state observer which predicts the output current in next sampling instant.

  • In PWM inverter fed traction motor drive systems, the switching frequency is restricted and thus the electromagnetic acoustic noise is generated. To reduce such an audible noise, we propose the modified RSF(Randomized Switching Frequency)-PWM method. In the proposed RSF-PWM method, both triangular wave and sawtooth wave are used in one period as carrier waves. Because the proposed method has inherently the same property as sinusoidal PWM method, there is no problem of linearity. To verify the validity of the modified RSF-PWM method, computer simulations are carried out.

  • This paper proposes a static vu compensator using hybrid cascade 5-level PWM inverter, Circuit DQ transformation is used for modeling and analysis of the system, and it reveals the important characteristics and related equations of the system. Also, a multilevel PWM technique suitable to hybrid structure Is proposed for less harmonics in the input currents of the system. Finally, the validity of tile characteristics analysis is shown through PSIM simulations.

  • This paper describes distribution characteristics of switching surge voltage in stator windings of induction motor driven by IGBT PWM inverter. To analyze the voltage distribution between the turns and coils of stator winding, equivalent circuit model of induction motor including cable was proposed and high frequency parameter is computed by using finite-element method (FEM). From the electro-magnetic transient program (EMTP) simulation of the whole system for induction motor, feeder cable, and PWM inverter, the variable effect on rising time of the inverter, cable length, and switching frequency on the voltage distribution is also presented. In order to experiment, an induction motor, 380[V], 50[HP], with taps from one phase are built to consider the voltage distribution so that these results can be helpful when filter was designed to remove high dv/dt.

  • The efficient electric power demand management in electric power supply industry is currently being changed by distributed generation. Meanwhile, small-scale distributed generation systems using renewable energy are being constructed worldwide. Several small-scale renewable distributed generation systems, which can supply electricity to the grid at peak load of the grid as per policy such as demand response programs, could help in the stability of the electric power demand management. In this case, the power quality of the small-scale renewable distributed generation system is more significant. Low prices of power semiconductors and multilevel inverters with high power quality have been recently investigated. However, the conventional multilevel inverter topology is unsuitable for the small-scale renewable distributed generation system, because the number of devices of such topology increases with increasing output voltage level. In this paper, a single-phase multilevel inverter based on H-bridge, with DC_Link divided by bi-directional switches, is proposed. The proposed topology has almost half the number of devices of the conventional multilevel inverter topology when these inverters have the same output voltage level. Double Fourier series solution is mainly used when comparing PWM output harmonic components of various inverter topologies. Harmonic components of the proposed multilevel inverter, which have been analyzed by double Fourier series, are compared with those of the conventional multilevel inverter. An inverter prototype is then developed to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis.

  • In this paper, new photovoltaic system that has 3 step output voltage is proposed. This system use new PWM method named as equivalent area PWM. This method is based on the criterion of the calculation that each area of voltage pulses equals to the integrated value of each time shared division of the reference sinusodial waveform to make a PWM pulse. We applyed this method to 2 step inverter and 3 step inverter and analyzed waveform using FFT.
