The purpose of this study is to research and develop solid polymer electrolyte(SPE) for Li polymer battery. This paper describes temperature dependence of conductivity, impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical properties of PVDF/PAN electrolytes as a function of a mixed ratio. PVDF/PAN based polymer electrolyte films were prepared by thermal gellification method of preweighed PVDF/PAN, plasticizer and Li salt. The conductivity of PVDF/PAN electrolytes was 10-3S/cm. 20PVDF5PANLiCIO$_4$PC$\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte shows the better conductivity of the others. 20P7DF5PANLiCI$_4$PC$\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte remains stable up to 5V vs. Li/Li$\^$+/. Steady state current method and ac impedance used for the determination of transference numbers in PVDF/PAN electrolyte film. The transference number of 20PVDF5ANLICIO$_4$/PC $\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte is 0.48
The purposed of this paper is to investigate the electrical and thermal stability of Polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) organic thin films prepared by the vapor deposition method. The differential scanning calorimetry curve of the PVDF organic thin films prepared by increasing substrate temperature showed that the melting curve increased from $128^{\circ}C$ to $142^{\circ}C$. This result implied that the PVDF organic thin film prepared by increasing substrate temperature increased intermolecular force in the crystalline region. The anomalous properties in dielectric constant and dielectric loss at low frequency and high temperature were described for PVDF organic thin film containing impurity carriers. It was confirmed that in view of electric conductive characteristics the ohm's law is satisfied in the range of lower electric field and ln J was proportional to the electric field ln E as like the conventional property of ionic conduction in the range of higher electric field. It was confirmed that major carrier of conductivity was ions. The electrical stability was improved according to an increase of the substrate temperature. On the basis of this experimental result, it could be observed that the optimum temperature of substrate for the electrical and thermal stability was at $105^{\circ}C$.
In this study, the PVDF organic thin film was fabricated by the physical vapor deposition method to be dry-process. The distance of heat source and substrate was 5[cm] and the temperature of substrate was 30[.deg. C], when the pressure had reached 2.0 x 10$^{-5}$ [Torr], the temperature of heat source was reached to 285[.deg. C] to heat at 6-8[.deg. C/min] rate, the shutter was opened and deposition was started. TG-DTA(Thermogravimetric-Differential Thermal Analysis) spectrum of PVDF pellets showed that endothermic peak arose at 170[.deg. C] and exothermic peak at 524[.deg. C], but that of thin PVDF film showed that endothermic peak arose at 145[.deg. C] and exothermic peak at 443[.deg C]. The current density was increased linearly with increasing voltage but increased nonlinearly with higher electric field than 250[kV/cm] and activation energy was about 0.667[eV] at the temperature of 30-90[.deg. C].

In this paper, we fabricated flexible CNT/PVDF (carbon nanotube / polyvinylidene fluoride) piezoelectric composite device with flexible poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) : polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) conducting polymer electrode using spray coating method. We tried to improve the piezoelectric performance from the CNT/PVDF composite film by enhancing electrical conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS electrodes. Electrical conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS electrode was enhanced by dipping it into the EG (ethylene glycol) solvent. Changes of chemical composition of the PEDOT:PSS electrode were analyzed with the dipping time by XPS (x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) in terms of oxygen (O1s). Finally, Piezoelectric performances such as output voltage and current were measured with the dipping time. We found that enhanced electrical conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS electrodes resulted in improvement of the piezoelectric performance of the CNT/PVDF films.

An acoustic sensor using PVDF film is proposed in this paper. And its properties, such as sensitivity level, identification of sound source frequencies. and directivity, were experimented. Sensitivity level measured at the distance of 1[m] was limited in the range of ${\pm}$10dB. Adjacent three frequencies were also tested to identify the frequency of sound sources. In the range of audible frequencies, it could distinguish the frequencies of a complex sound. In addition, it was found that the sensor outputs were maximum in the coincided direction with a source, when directivity was experimented with three sound sources and FFT. The proposed PVDF film sensor has good characteristics of directivity and identifying ability as an acoustic sensor.

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a promising coating material because of its outstanding processability. The PVDF coating, however, has limitations in anti-corrosion application due to its weak hydrophobicity compared to that of other fluoropolymers. In this study, plasma fluorination was performed using carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) gas to improve anti-corrosion properties of PVDF. The fluorine content and hydrophobicity of PVDF were investigated in different CF4 flow rates, followed by the determination of anti-corrosion properties. The fluorine content on the surface of the PVDF film increased by up to 46.70%, but the surface free energy was independent of CF4 flow rate. Meanwhile, the surface roughness of the PDVF film tended to increase by up to 150% and then decrease with increasing CF4 flow rate. It is considered that the plasma fluorination affects the surface free energy due to the introduction of fluorine functional groups and surface etching. In addition, the degree of corrosion of the PVDF-coated Fe plate was significantly reduced from 49.2% to 19.0% compared to that of the uncoated Fe plate. In particular, the degree of corrosion of the fluorinated PVDF-coated Fe plate was 13.6%, which was 28.4% lower than that of the PVDF-coated Fe plate, showing improved anti-corrosion protection.

In this study, we develop a Korotkoff sound based automatic blood pressure measurement device including sensor, hardware, and analysis algorithm. PVDF-based sensor pattern was developed to function as a vibration sensor to detect of Korotkoff sounds, and the film's output was connected to an impedance-matching circuit. An algorithm for determining starting and ending points of the Korotkoff sounds was established, and clinical data from subjects were acquired and analyzed to find the relationship between the values obtained by the auscultatory method and from the developed device. The results from 86 out of 90 systolic measurements and 84 out of 90 diastolic measurements indicate that the developed device pass the validation criteria of the international protocol. Correlation coefficients for the values obtained by the auscultatory method and from the developed device were 0.982 and 0.980 for systolic and diastolic blood pressure, respectively. Blood pressure measurements based on Korotkoff sound signals obtained by using the developed PVDF film-based sensor module are accurate and highly correlated with measurements obtained by the traditional auscultatory method.
This paper represents the development of an array-type flexible tactile sensor using PVDF(polyvinylidene fluoride) film and flexible circuitry. The tactile sensor which has $8{\times}8$ taxels is made by using PVDF film and FPC(flexible printed circuit) technique. Experimental results on static and dynamic properties are obtained by applying arbitrary forces and frequencies generated by the shaker. In the static characteristics, the threshold and the linearity of the sensor are investigated. Also dynamic response of the sensor subjected to the variable frequencies is examined. The signals of a contact force to the tactile sensor are sensed and processed in the DSP system in which the signals are digitalized and filtered. Finally, the signals are integrated for taking the force profile. The processed signals of the outputs of the sensor are visualized on a personal computer, the shape and force distribution of the contacted object are obtained using two and three-dimensional image in real time. The reasonable performance for the detection of contact state is verified through the experiment.

In this study, the PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) piero-film sensor was applied to measure the internal quality of apple. The developed sensor detected the response signal through apple after mechanical impact on the surface of apple. The acoustical parameters at time domain such as rise time (RT), ring down count (RC), energy (EN), event duration (ED) and peak amplitude (PA) and acoustical parameter at frequency domain such as spectral density (SE) were analyzed. The size of waveform decreased as storage time of apple increased. The frequency at maximum magnitude was shifted to lower frequency band according to the storage time. The acoustical parameters showed strong relationship with storage time. The multiple linear regression equation was developed to estimate storage time of apple using the acoustical parameters at time domain and its coefficient of determination was 0.97. The internal quality of apple according to storage time is predictable using developed PVDF sensor and acoustical parameters defined in this study.
