Development of a Monitoring Equipment of Current and Potential on Power Transmission Line for 66kV

  • We propose portable equipment that monitors current and voltage of high-potential power transmission lines. In the equipment, a current and voltage sensor are attached to an insulator that supports a power transmission line: A clamped to the power line and the detected current signal is transmitted to the ground station by a wireless optical link using transmission line is detected by a high resistance element, zinc oxide (ZnO). That acts as a potential divider between the power line and ground. We make an experimental device for 66kV power line and demonstrate that it can monitor currents proposed equipment is small-sized, light, and inexpensive in comparison with the conventional CT (current transformer) and PT (potential transformer) since it does not require high potential insulators and magnetic cores, further, the equipment is easily installed owing to its small size and its simple structure.

  • PT of epoxy mold type have tendency to occur dielectric breakdown in high voltage system. These are using for measurement of voltage or protection of system and application voltage is 25.8kV. Therefore, for improving a lots of problems like as partial discharge, we had analyze on the destroyed Epoxy molded type PT and processing of production. As a results, we concluded that the reason of dielectric breakdown was defect of processing and degradation of insulation by electrical stress. In this work, We presented a method of solution in processing of production. which is reduction of the PO which was occurred at the insulation material. so we must many try to remove faults, these problems are mainly to winding methods of 1st coil. the other side, Reformation of 1st coil improved property of PD and we could prove it with experiments.

  • This paper describes the analysis resulates on the P.T ferroresonance at 154kV GIS(Gas Insulated Substation) by EMTP(Electromagnetic transient program). We had simulated the PT ferroresonance between a potential transformer(PT) and open circuit braker's grading capacitance. The ferroresonance leads to very large power frequency overvoltage on PT bus and subsequent insulation failure. The damping circuit connected on the secondary winding were considered in the model. The actual countermeasure include a saturable inductor and a resistor series mounted, but the 2 ohms of damping resistance was used in the computational model.

Features of Transient Overvoltages Observed at 22.9kV Consumer's Substation (22.9kV 수전설비에서 측정된 과도과전압의 특성)

  • The aims of this paper are to characterize the transient overvoltages(TOVs) and to evaluate the risk occurring at 22.9kV consumer's substation. The measurements of lightning- and switching-caused TOVs were made during Mar. 2013 and Feb. 2014. As a consequence, 47 events of TOVs were recorded and 4 of them were higher than the input voltage envelope(IVE) of the information technology industry council(ITI) curve. The measured TOVs are characterized by longer front times and longer durations compared to the $1.2/50{\mu}s$ standard impulse voltage waveform, and some of them represent bipolar waves with lower oscillation frequencies. It suggests that the test of non-standard impulse voltage waveforms is needed for effective risk assessments of power apparatus. Lightning- and switching-caused TOVs exceeding IVE of ITI curve are induced at the secondary of 22.9kV potential transformer(PT). We may, therefore, conclude that the surge protection devices should be applied at the secondary of PT and the surge absorbers should be installed at the primary of VCB or PT. The results presented in this paper could be useful to design the reasonable insulation coordination for 22.9kV consumer's substation.

Development of ADWHM(Advanced Digital Watt-Hour Meter) for Remote Management of Distribution Systems (배전원격관리를 위한 차세대 디지털 적산전력계 개발)

  • This paper develops an ADWHM(Advanced Digital Watt-Hour Meter) which integrates and implements the voltage management data record function and the load management data record function in the electronic watt-hour meter. ADWHM is developed based on PIC16F874 which is 8bit micro-controller of RISK type for the easy of programing and maintenance, and electronic power signal processing module is located at front of it to reduce the computing load of processor. Also, a 16kbyte EEPROM is used to record the voltage management data and load management data for a week as well as watt-hour data and USART communication mode is used to transfer data from ADWHM to PC. The accuracy of the voltage and unt measuring for ADWHM is verified by identifying the LCD display values of the ADWHM after the voltage signals of id levels from digital function generator is applied to PT(Potential Transformer) and CT(Current Transformer) output under state which it is separated from real power line. On the its basic functions such as watt-hour data recording function, voltage management data recording function and load management data recording function was verified by showing data for three days among the collected data to PC by RS232C communication from ADWHM which was connected to real power lines for a week.

  • 전류 및 전압을 측정하는 것은 오래전부터 CT(current transformer)/PT(potential transformer) 가 많이 사용되어져 왔지만, 이들은 iron core를 사용하기 때문에 포화특성이 발생하게 되어, 오차를 유발하게 된다. 이에 대한 대처 방안으로서 현재는 로고스키코일 및 분압방식을 이용한 ECT/EVT에 대한 적용이 진행이 되고 있다. ECT/EVT는 포화특성이 없고, 선형성이 매우우수하며, 소형, 경량이라는 점에서 현재 배전반의 변화 추세를 구현할 수 있는 충분한 능력을 지니고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ECT/EVT를 제작하여, 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 특이점은 ECT/EVT가 EPOXY SPACER에 내장이 되어 사용이 되며, 이런 사용조건하에서의 이들의 특성이 변화 될 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 EPXOY 몰딩하에서도 그 선형성을 잃지 않았으며, 원하는 오차인 ${\pm}1%$에 부합되는 결과를 나타내었다.

  • 기계적에너지를 전기적에너지로 변환하는 발전기를 내 외부 고장으로부터 보호하기 위해 보호계전기가 설치되어 있으며, 이러한 보호계전기의 동작신호 중 하나인 전압신호를 검출하기 위해 발전기와 변압기를 연결하는 모선에 설치된 계기용변성기를 이용한다. 본 논문은 발전기의 보호계전기용 계기용변성기 손상원인에 관한 연구로서, 계기용변성기의 철공진에 이한 손상가능성을 고찰하였고 발전소에 많이 사용되는 G사의 계기용변성기와 손상된 I사의 계기용변성기에 대한 전기적 시험결과를 비교하였으며, 계기용변성기를 직접 절개하여 제작 및 적용특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 발전기 전압신호 검출용 계기용변성기는 발전기 중성점 접지형태에 관계없이 반드시 Line to Line type을 적용해야 함을 도출했다.

AC Insulation Breakdown Properties of the EMNC to Application of Distribution Molded Transformer (배전용 몰드변압기 적용을 위한 EMNC의 교류절연파괴특성 연구)

  • A conventional epoxy-microsilica composite (EMC) and an epoxy-microsilica-nanosilicate composite (EMNC) were prepared in order to apply them to mold-type transformers, current transformers (CT) and potential transformers (PT). Nanosilicate was exfoliated in a epoxy resin using our electric field dispersion process and AC insulation breakdown strength at $30{\sim}150^{\circ}C$, glass transition temperature and viscoelasticity were studied. AC insulation breakdown strength of EMNC was higher than that of EMC and that value of EMNC was far higher at high temperature. Glass transition temperature and viscoelasticity property of EMNC was higher than those of EMC at high temperature. These results was due to the even dispersion of nanosilicates among the nanosilicas, which could be observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). That is, the nanosilicates interrupt the electron transfer and restrict the mobility of the epoxy chains.

A Study on the Development of Harmonic Limit Device for Stabilizing Main Circuit Equipment of Train (열차운행 안정화를 위한 주회로 기기의 고조파 제한장치 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes the application of harmonic constraints to address the problems caused by abnormal voltage increases when electric railway vehicles are running. The AC line that supplies the train with power during operation is used to provide electricity of 25kV/60 Hz, but gradually the size and frequency of harmonics involved in the line are varied with the technological evolution of the railroad vehicle electrical equipment. An increase in heat losses due to the failure of the instrument transformer (PT), the main circuit device, which is a serious problem with the recent train safety operation, or to the main displacement voltage. When high frequency components are introduced through low frequency Transformers of the main circuit device, the high intensity of the components is caused by the high intensity of the core and the current flow of the parasitic core is increased, thus generating heat. To solve this problem, the recent adjustment of the sequence has applied artificial NOTCH OFF of the power converter. However, the method of receiving and controlling the OFF signal operates by interaction between the ground and the vehicle's devices, thus it is invalid in the event of failure, and an actual accident is occurring. Therefore, the harmonic currents were required to prevent possible flow of harmonics, and conducted a study to prevent accidental occurrence of train accidents and to verify feasibility of the device through the simulations of the train's experimental analysis and the simulations of the train for safe operation.
