  • Piezoelectric characteristics of lead zirconate(PZ)-lead titanate(PT)-lead manganese antimony(PMS) ceramics with the various changes of calcination temperature in PMS were prepared. The range of their sintering temperature was from $1100^{\circ}C$ to $1250^{\circ}C$. The electro-mechanical properties of PZ-PT-PMS ceramics such as piezoelectric constant, electro-mechanical coupling coefficient, and mechanical quality factor are measured as a function of the calcination temperature of PMS. As increasing the calcination temperature of PMS mechanical quality factor is increased.

  • Purpose: Although premsnstrual syndromes(PMS) have long been recognized, there has been difficulty to evaluate the symtoms. Usually the questionnaire has been used to dignose the PMS. Objective is to investigate the relationship of body temperature between women with PMS and without PMS. Methods: We studied 23 patients visiting OO hospital from 26th December 2005 to 26th April 2006. The Questionnaire for PMS was used to evaluate physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms accompanying the menstrual cycle of the subjects. The subjects were categorized in two groups, non-PMS(11) and PMS group(12). Body temperature was assessed by Dorex spectrum 9000MB (DOREX Inc., USA). We measured CV4, CV3, CV12 and CV17 to evaluate the distribution of body temperature, compared the difference of temperature(${\Delta}T$) between CV17-CV4, CV17-CV3, CV17-CV12 and CV12-CV3. We investigated the of temperature and ${\Delta}T$ between two groups by Mann-Whitney U-test. Results: The temperature of CV3 and CV4 of PMS located in low abdomen were lower than those of non-PMS located in chest. But there was no statistical significance of temperature between two groups. There was lower temperature of low abdomen in PMS group than non-PMS group without statistical significance. Conclusion: The results suggest that DITI could be useful to assess the PMS objectively. But more research should be needed.

  • Excess application of paper mill sludge (PMS) in field can limit phosphorus uptake by crops because aluminum presented in the sludge can fix or adsorb available phosphorus which is necessary for crop growth. To investigate phosphorus (P) adsorption characteristics of PMS, we examined P adsorption maximum $(X_m)$ using Langmuir isotherm and P adsorption energy constant $(K_f)$ using Freundlich isotherm for PMS without alum, PMS with alum, and composted PMS with alum through a laboratory incubation test. The maximum P adsorption capacities were 800 ${\mu}g\;g^{-1}$ in soil, 47 $mg\;g^{-1}$ in PMS without alum and 61 $mg\;g^{-1}$ in PMS with alum. P adsorption capacity with alum treatment for PMS increased by 30%. That of PMS compost was 68 $mg\;g^{-1}$ and showed that composting increases 11% of P adsorption. Freundlich constant $K_f$ was 22 in check soil, while $K_f$ values in PMS without alum and in PMS with alum were 398 and 426, respectively. After composting, $K_f$ value of PMS compost significantly increased as 1,819. In conclusions, p adsorption capacity for PMS were increased by alum treatment or composting and therefore excess or continuous land application of alum-amended or composted PMS can limit P uptake for crops by reducing available P in sell.

  • In the paper, a smartphone-controlled personal mobility system(PMS) based on a compass sensor is developed. The use of a magnetic compass sensor makes the PMS move according to the heading direction of a smartphone controlled by a rider. The proposed smartphone-controlled PMS allows more intuitive interface than PMS controlled by pushing a button. As well, the magnetic compass sensor makes a role in compensating for the mechanical characteristics of motors mounted on the PMS. For adequate control of the robot, two methods: absolute and relative direction methods based on the magnetic compass sensor and wireless communication are presented. Experimental results show that the PMS is conveniently and effectively controlled by the proposed two methods.

  • Many young women suffer from premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of isoflavone on serum sex hormone and PMS during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. We investigated the incidence of PMS in 116 Korean female college students. The incidence of PMS was $19.8\%$. Among them, 9 PMS and 13 control were given 90 mg isoflavone per day during 2 menstrual cycles. The changes in anthropometric measurements, dietary intakes, serum parameters including sex hormones, and PMS symptoms were observed. Isoflavone supplementation did not affect anthropometric measurements. However, SBP and DBP were significantly decreased in control. Dietary intakes were not changed after supplementation of isoflavones. Serum SHBG was lower in PMS group than in control and significantly decreased in control with isoflavone supplementation. PMS symptoms such as backache, sweet, salty, and fatty food craving, coffee/tea drinking, and anxiety were significantly lessened. Based on these results, isoflavone supplementation may benefit young women by reducing some of PMS. Further studies of soy isoflavones effect on sex hormone and PMS may help to prepare for PMS management.

  • In this paper, we introduce PMS's main function and main effect which implemented medium and large scale software development project site, and we propose importance and improvement nacessity of PMS implementation. PMS's main functions are developed based on best practices which CMMI model and PMBOK. Also, each PMS has specialized unique function according to it's target industry area or related I.T solutions which has infra dependency. The effectiveness of PMS implementation on project site is seperated two types, one is qualitative effect, the other quantitative effect. Representative qualitative effects are improvement of enterprise's image and competency. Also representative quantitative effect is reduction of project management cost as a financial effect. As far as project size is increase, PMS's needs and necessariness will be increase, so we need to improve PMS;s function according to project management's global trend and software customer's requisition.

  • This study was designed to identify how the incidence and severity of premenstrual. syndrome (PMS) correlate with the nutrient intakes and exercise habit of women. The subjects of this study were 299 women residing in Busan metropolitan city. Each subject was asked to complete a menstrual discomfort questionnaire (MDQ) for PMS and nutrient intakes. PMS symptom scores of women in their twenties ranked in order of severity were: behavioral change (2.45), followed by pain (2.36) and water retention (2.28), negative effects (2.20), autonomic reaction (1.91), arousal (1.87), decreased concentration (1.76) and decreased control (1.74). For Women in their thirties, the symptom of pain was the most dominant (2.93) followed by autonomic reaction (2.69) and behavioral change (2.54), and for those in their forties, negative effect (3.06) was highest, followed by pain (2.97) and autonomic reaction (2.86). The overall symptoms of PMS significantly increased with age (20': 2.07 points, 30': 2.34 points, 40': 2.47 points). There was no correlation of the BMI of the subjects with the symptoms of PMS, but there was a significant negative correlation between the symptoms of PMS and exercise frequency for women in their thirties and forties. Subjects in their twenties exhibited a significant negative correlation for PMS symptoms with the intake of carbohydrate (p < 0.05), calcium (p < 0.05) and vitamin E (p < 0.05). For subjects in their thirties, PMS symptoms were negatively correlated with the intake of calcium (p < 0.05) and vitamin C (p < 0.05); and in women in their forties, calcium (p < 0.01) and carbohydrate (p < 0.05) intakes were negatively correlated with PMS symptoms. This suggests that PMS represents the clinical manifestation of a nutrient deficiency state, especially calcium. Therefore, we concluded that nutrient supplementation and exercise management are likely to be of benefit in relieving PMS symptoms.
