Auto-Tuning Of Reference Model Based PID Controller Using Immune Algorithm

  • In this paper auto-tuning scheme of PID controller based on the reference model has been studied by immune algorithm for a process. Up to this time, many sophisticated tuning algorithms have been tried in order to improve the PID controller performance under such difficult conditions. However, in the actual plant, they are manually tuned through a trial and error procedure, and the derivative action is switched off. Therefore, it is difficult to tune. Simulation results by immune based tuning reveal that tuning approaches suggested in this paper is an effective approach to search for optimal or near optimal process control.

  • 산업 자동화의 고정밀도에 따라 직류 전동기는 강인제어가 요구되고 있다. 하지만 PID 제어기를 갖는 전동기 제어 시스템이 부하 외란의 영향을 받게되면 제어 시스템의 강인제어는 어렵게 된다. 이에 대한 보완적인 한 방법으로 본 논문에서는 전동기 제어시스템을 위한 PID-자기동조 제어기법을 제시하였다. 만약 오차가 구속영역 내에 있고, 시스템이 안정한 상태에 있다면 자기동조는 사용되지 않고 PID 제어기만 동작한다. 자기동조 제어기는 오차가 구속 경계에 도달하게 되면 오차를 구속 영역내로 들어가도록 제어를 시작한다. PID-자기동조 제어 시스템의 오차가 시스템 설계자의 허용한도 내에서 유지되고 전체적으로 안정함을 증명하였다.

  • This paper suggests an inverse optimal PID control design method for the trajectory tracking case of mechanical systems. Also, simple coarse/fine performance tuning laws are suggested based on the analysis for performance limitation of inverse optimal PID controller. Experimental results for a robot manipulator show the validity of our analysis for the performance tuning methods.

  • In thermal power plant, the efficiency of a combined power plant with a gas turbine increases, exceeding 50%, while the efficiency of traditional steam turbine plants is approximately 35% to 40%. Up to the present time, the PID controller has been used to operate this system. However, it is very difficult to achieve an optimal PID gain without any experience, since the gain of the PID controller has to be manually tuned by trial and error procedures. This paper focuses on the neural network tuning of the 2-DOF PID controller with a separated 2-DOF parameter (NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID controller), for optimal control of the Gun-san gas turbine generating plant in Seoul. Korea. In order to attain optimal control, transfer function and operating data from start-up, running, and stop procedures of the Gun-san gas turbine have been acquired, and a designed controller has been applied to this system. The results of the NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID are compared with the PID controller and the conventional 2-DOF PID controller tuned by the Ziegler-Nichols method through experimentation. The experimental results of the NN-Tuning 2-DOF PID controller represent a more satisfactory response than those of the previously-mentioned two controller.

  • This paper is a study on robust PID controller tuning technique using the frequency region model matching method.To design the robust PID controller satisfying disturbance attenuation and robust tracking property for a reference input first an {{{{ETA _$\infty$}}}} controller satisfying given performances is designed using an H$_{\infty}$ control method, And then the parameters(proportional gain integral gain and derivation gain) of the robust PID controller with the performances of the desinged H$_{\infty}$ controller are determined using the model matching method at frequency domain. in this paper this PID controller tuning technique is applied to PID speed controller design for BLDC motors. Consequently simulation results show that the proposed PID speed controller satisfies load torque disturbance attenuation and robust tracking property and this study has usefulness and applicability for the speed control system; design of BLDC motors.

  • This paper presents a simple two-degree of freedom PID tuning table based on the CDM design method. The structure of the control system will be composed of plant, P or PI or PID controller and a pre-filter. The finalized formula can be used based on the experimental test of the plant in the same manner as the Ziegler-Nichols' second method. That is; users just need to find the critical gain and critical period experimentally and the parameters of the P, PI or PID controller with the pre-filter can be obtained by substituting the values of critical gain and critical period in the tuning table. The simulation results of the control systems utilizing the proposed controllers compared with those using the Ziegler-Nichols' second method will also be demonstrated.

  • One of the advantages of the well-known PID controller is that it is a sufficiently flexible controller for many applications. But, when the plant parameters and disturbances are unknown or change with time, it is desirable to make automatic tuning of PID controller in order to achieve an acceptable level of performance of the control system. This paper presents a reformulation of the self-tuning pole-zero placement controller subject to some conditions and restrictions. It has the structure of a digital PID controller and is based on Vogel and Edgar's pole-zero placement design method. Various properties of this self-tuning PID controller are described and illustrated by simulation examples.

  • PID auto-tuning controller was designed via fuzzy logic. Typical values such as error and error derivative feedbackwere changed as heuristic expressions, and they determine PID gain through fuzzy logic and defuzzification process. Fuzzy procedure and PID controller design were considered separately, and they are combined and analyzed. Obtained auto-tuning PID controller by Fuzzy Logic showed the ability for less than 3rd order plant control.

  • 산업현장에서 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 PID제어기의 이론적인 배경을 토대로 실제 DCS 기반 플랜트에서 PID Tuning Method에 의한 PID제어기를 구현하고 제어성능을 확인한다. 또한 DCS(Distribute Control System)의 PID Controller를 분석하고 전 공정제어 System 중 일부분을 ARMA Modeling하여 만족스런 성능이 구현되도록 최적의 PID gain Parameter를 찾는다.
