In this paper, parallel type fuzzy controller is designed by using a hybrid connected type fuzzy-PID controller and a model reference fuzzy controller. The first controller that consists a fuzzy-PI and a fuzzy-PD making a hybrid type fuzzy-PID controller plays a role as firstly reaching stable responses and secondly overcoming disturbance in plants. The second controller, model reference fuzzy controller, plays a role as reaching faster responses than other controllers. We have confirmed that we get rapid and stable responses and the controller overcomes disturbance in a short time when there happens disturbance by using parallel type fuzzy controller applying to DC motor in this paper.

A pointwise PD-optimal control method is proposed for the continuous path control of robot manipulators with bounded inputs. The controller employs the desired acceleration plus PD (proportional and derivative) actions in the Cartesian space. The gain parameters of the controller are adjusted so that the Euclidean norm of the deviation between the actual and desired accelerations is minimized subject to the constraints of bounded input torques and the system guarantees negative feedback. To show the Validities of the proposed mithods, computer simulations are performed for a SCARA type robot.
This paper presents a fuzzy PD speed control scheme for the robust speed tracking of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). Motivated by the common control engineering knowledge that transient performance can be improved if the P gain is big and the D gain is small in the beginning, a linearizing control scheme with a fuzzy PD controller is proposed. The global system stability is analyzed and the proposed control algorithm is implemented using a TMS320F28335 DSP. Simulation and experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we describe performances of P-PD controllers in the quadrotor system with steady-state error compensation by adding a corrective term to the system input. A decentralized control system using P-PD controllers was successfully implemented on a quadrotor platform. We also presented the results of a mathematical modeling analysis for control the quadrotor and experimental results for each response performance according to the heading reference value in accordance with the mathematical modeling and P-PD controller design. A control experiment with the real system was implemented for the test platform, and the results were evaluated and compared.

This Paper considers the heading and depth control problem for an underactuated AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) HW200. The HW200 is a torpedo-type AUV that is developed from Hanwha corporation R&D Center for military operation such as MCM (Mine Counter Measures). The HW200 controls horizontal and vertical motion with two stern plane and two rudder plane. It is well known that fine control of an AUV motion is not easy because of model uncertainties, highly nonlinear and coupled motions. To overcome those kind of uncertainties, a number of control methods have been presented. In this paper, the motion controllers of the HW200 are designed using PD controller design method based on the linear and perturbed model of the typical 6-DOF equations of an AUV, and confirmed the effectiveness of the controller through simulations and field test.

Many control techniques have been proposed in order to improve the control performance in the control system. In the feedback control system the output of controller is generally used as the input of a plant But the undesired noise is included in the output of a controller. Therefore, there is a need to use a precompensator for rejecting the undesired noise and improving the response characteristic of a system. In this paper, the design method of a precompensator is proposed for the model following control in the I-PD control system. The proposed precompensator is implemented with a neural network. The games of a precompensator are adjusted automatically to obtain a desired response of a system when the response characteristic of a system is changed under a condition.

Simple tuning methods of PI, PD and PID controller are proposed for an integrating process with time delay. This is based on matching the coefficients of corresponding powers of s in the numerator and that in the denominator of the closed-loop transfer function. For set-point tracking problem, the derived controller is found to be a PD controller which is shown by Lee's tuning rule based on minimizing the performance indexes (ISE, IAE, ITAE) using a real-coded genetic algorithm. A method can be also proposed PI, PID controllers according to tuning parameter lambda $({\lambda})$ similar to IMC method. Simulation example is given to illustrate the set-point tracking and disturbance rejection performance of the proposed method.
A new method to control a robot manipulator by neural networks is proposed. The controller is composed of both a PD controller and a neural network-based feedforward controller. MLP(multi-layer perceptron) neural network is used for the feedforward controller and trained by BP(back-propagation) learning rule. Error terms for BP learning rule are composed of the outputs of a PD controller and the acceleration errors of manipulator joints. We compare the proposed method with existing ones and contrast performances of them by simulation. Also, We discuss the real application of the proposed method in consideration of the learning time of the neural network and the time required for sensing the joint acceleration.

This paper describes an analysis of an architecture and control system of a firefighting cannon manipulator (FCM) composed of two joint axes and one water-shooting actuator. Because the orienting FCM motion is disturbed by the reaction force from water shooting, the water shooting force has been modeled for robust control. The dynamics model of the manipulator has been set up including the external force of water-shooting reaction on the manipulator. A PD Controller and Sliding Mode Controller have been designed and their performance been tested through simulation to track a desired trajectory under the disturbance of a water-shooting reaction. The simulation shows that the performance of the Sliding Mode Controller is better than that of the PD controller.
A delivery ship is used to handle the cargo with the crane to/from the ships. The ship is inclined in the direction of a cargo which is hung on a crane. In this case, a arc shaped rail should be in the equilibrium state to get good anti-rolling performance. In this study, a device and control algorithm are developed to take accurate and quick equilibrium of the rail. The device is composed of a hinged immovable support, screw jack and damper. And the control system is based on I-PD control law to consider of control input saturation and overshoot. The controller is composed of integral controller of feedforward path and proportional-derivative controller of feedback path. The parameters of controller is designed to follow the reference signal and to remove overshoot. The simulation results show that the desirable control performance is achieved.
