미세조류 활성도 평가를 위한 Photosynthesis and Respiration (P&R) Analyzer 분석조건 최적화 (Photosynthesis and Respiration (P&R) Analyzer Analysis Optimization for Microalgal Activity Evaluation)

  • Photosynthesis and respiration rate of microalgae are important factors during advanced wastewater treatment research using microalgae, There are several equipments and measurement methods for measuring photosynthesis and respiration, with different challenges that occur during pretreatment and stabilization of the analysis process. Therefore, in this study, for accurate Photosynthesis and Respiration (P&R) analyzer measurement, the analysis process was divided into pre-processing, DO stabilization, and analysis stages and each was optimized to enable accurate evaluation. For this purpose, the effect of DO saturation of the sample on P&R analysis, DO stabilization according to the degassing flow rate, and photoinhibition of the OD level on photosynthesis was investigated. Based on our study results, when DO was supersaturated, photosynthetic efficiency decreased due to photorespiration, making it inappropriate as a P&R sample. In addition, 0.5 L-N2/min level was the optimal nitrogen degassing flow rate for DO desaturation. The inhibition of photosynthetic efficiency by self-shading caused by the increase in OD was observed from OD 2.0, and it was found that P& R analysis is preferably performed on samples with OD less than 2.0. In addition, based on the above three optimization results, an optimized P&R Analyzer instruction for accurate P&R analysis was also presented.

Foot analyzer를 이용한 만성 요통 환자들의 족저 압력 분석 (Foot Pressure Analysis of Chronic Low Back Pain Patients by Foot Analyzer)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the foot pressure distribution correlates with the lumbo-sacral curvature, and the Oswestry Disability Index in chronic low back pain patients. Methods : We measured the fore foot pressure and the rare foot pressure using the foot analyzer in 28 women subjects with chronic low back pain. The lumbo-sacral curvature and the Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) were also measured. Results : 1. Subjects with higher ODI(%) had significantly lower Fore foot pressure/Rare foot pressure ratio(F/R ratio) (p<0.01). 2. Lumbar lordotic angle and Ferguson angle were inversely related to ODI(%) (p<0.05, p<0.01). 3. Lumbar lordotic angle and Ferguson angle were positively related to F/R ratio (all p<0.05). Conclusions : Using the Foot Analyzer(FA-48S, Tech storm Inc.) we have shown that F/R ratio has significant correlation with the lumbo-sacral curvature and the Oswestry Disability Index. These result suggest that the Foot analyzer may be used in assessing back pain in chronic low back pain patients.

휴대형 혈액가스 분석시스템의 구현 (Implementation on the Portable Blood Gas Analyzer)

  • In this study, we implement the potable blood gas analyzer measuring pH, $pCO_2\;and\;pO_2$ of the arterial blood. The implemented system by this study is divided into hardware and software part and also the hardware portion is parted by mechanism and electronic circuit mit. The system program is composed of operating, washing, correcting and measuring program. And to correct the system, two-point calibration method is used, one-point calibration method is also added for more accuracy, and system program is coded. For verifying the implemented system, We examine to response property of each electrode. And evaluate accuracy of the system using standard reagent and was construed as statistical.

조류발생 경보 및 호수 수질관리를 위한 엽록소 자동측정기의 적용 및 타당성 연구 (Evaluation and Application of Algae Online Analyzer for Alarming Algal Bloom and Water Quality Management of Korean Reservoirs)

  • 호수내 엽록소를 상시적으로 측정하기 위한 자동측정기(AOA)를 적용하고 타당성을 평가하기 위하여 서울-경기지역 상수원수인 팔당호 현장수가 직접 유입되는 제2취수장에서 시료를 채취하였다. 분석은 조류 현존량 및 종 조성 분석, 흡광광도법과 자동측정기에 의한 엽록소측정 등을 동시에 실시하여 그 결과를 비교 조사하고 현장 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. 연구결과. 조류분류군별 엽록소 기여도는 규조류가 83.6%로 가장 높았으며, 녹조류, 남조류, 크립토조류의 순으로 나타났다. 자동측정법과 흡광광도법에 의한 엽록소 농도는 전체적으로 매우 유의한 상관성을 보였으나(.=0.87, n=302, p<0.001), 시기 또는 공 조성에 따라 차이를 보였다. 자동측정기의 민감포는 크립토조 (r=0.83, p=0.00154)와 규조 (r=0.73,p=0.010)가 높았으며 현존량이 낮은 녹조(r=-0.13)와 남조(r=-0.16)에 대해서는 상관성을 보이지 않았다. 결과적으로 엽록소 자동측정법은 고전적인 아세톤 추출 방법에 비해 신속성과 경제성은 매우 인정되지만 출현종의 밀도나 종 천이 등을 고려한 조류분석 및 엽록소 직접측정 등이 병행되어야 할 것으로 사료되었다.

해양 퇴적물내 총탄소 및 유기탄소의 분석기법 고찰 (Methodological Comparison of the Quantification of Total Carbon and Organic Carbon in Marine Sediment)

  • 해양의 퇴적물내 함유된 총탄소와 유기탄소의 정확한 정량적 이해는 저서환경해석을 위한 기본적인 자료이다. 원소분석기(CHN Analyzer)는 정량적인 탄소분석을 위해 개발되었고 현재 퇴적물내의 탄소성분 분석에 가장 흔히 사용되고 있는 기기이다. 원소분석기의 정확도와 정밀도는 Acetanilide($C_8H_9NO$), Sulfanilammide($C_6H_8N_2O_2S$)와 표준하구 퇴적물인 BCSS-1를 이용하여 점검하였다. 이러한 분석결과, 원소분석기는 탄소 및 질소 분석 시 오차백분율이 3.28% 이하의 높은 정밀도를 가지고 있으며 상대표준편차가 1.26% 이하의 높은 정확도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 무기탄소분석에 많이 이용되는 탄소분석기(Coulometeric Carbon Analyzer)와 원소분석기 사이의 탄소분석 비교에서 다양한 퇴적물내에서 측정된 총탄소량 사이에 높은 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다($R^2=0.9993$, n=84). 두 기기로부터 얻어진 값은 서로 중요한 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났다(paired t-test, p=0.0003). 이러한 두 기기 사이의 높은 상관관계는 유기탄소 분석 비교 실험에서도 유사하게 나타났다($R^2=0.8867$, n=84, p<0.0001; paired t-test, p=0.0006). 탄산염 연니 같은 무기 탄소량이 높은 퇴적물 분석시 오차가 크게 나타날 가능성도 있지만, 일반적인 해양퇴적물의 유기탄소 분석 시에는 원소분석기를 이용하여 정확한 값을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 이와 같은 결과로부터 얻어진 유기탄소분석 방법은 일반적인 퇴적물의 유기탄소분석에 적용될 수 있으며, 분석 소요시간의 단축과 높은 정밀도 및 정확도로 반복적인 유기탄소분석에 유용할 것으로 사료된다.

THE EFFECT OF FORMATION OF PAPER FROM EUCALYPTUS CHEMIMECHANICAL PULP ON PRINTABILITY

  • The relation between the paper formation analyzer by image process system and smoothness, compressibility uniform of ink absorption is studied. There results indicate that the paper with bad formation has higher apparent bulk than the paper with good formation. The bad formation of paper results in the nonuniform calendering and decrease of the compressibility. The bad formation of paper also results in deformation and omission of printing dots, which affects the reproduction of the printing images.

Comparison of the bovine blood gas parameters produced with three types of portable blood gas analyzers

  • Background: A definite diagnosis should be made in the bovine practice field, however, it was difficult to perform laboratory analysis immediately. Currently, three types of portable blood gas analyzers are available in Korea. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the correlations among these three analyzers. Methods: Seventy-two plasma samples from Holstein-Friesian cows were used for blood gas analysis, and three instruments (EDAN i15 Vet, VETSCAN i-STAT, and EPOC) were operated simultaneously. Moreover, plasma calcium levels were compared between these portable analyzers and blood chemistry device, which is usually used in a laboratory environment. Pearson analysis was performed to confirm the correlation of each parameter produced with the three instruments and blood chemistry analyzer. Results: As results, high correlation was observed in parameters of pH, pO2, potassium ion, ionized calcium, and glucose (p < 0.001, r > 0.7). In addition, pCO2 showed a moderate correlation among the three analyzers (p < 0.001, r > 0.5), and there was no correlation among all instruments for sodium ions. There was also a high correlation between ionized calcium from the three portable devices and total calcium from the biochemistry analyzer (p < 0.001, r > 0.9). Conclusions: In conclusion, there was a high correlation between results from the three different blood gas analyzers used in the bovine clinical field in Korea. Thus, a consistent diagnosis can be made even with different equipment if the operator is aware of the strengths and weaknesses of each piece of equipment and operates it properly.

자동화학 분석기 Toshiba 120 FR의 평가 (Evaluation of Autochemical Analyzer Toshiba 120 FR)

  • The lower limit of detection, precision, setting method of target value, reportable range determination, recovery, linearity, and comparison study with another equipment was evaluated for the Toshiba-120FR chemistry autoanalyzer which was newly introduced at the Daejeon Veteran Hospital in Dec. 2003. Nineteen kinds of test for AST, ALT, ALP, LDH, GGT, TP, ALB, GLU, T-cho, T-bil, TG, UA, CAL, IP, AMY, HDL-C, LDL-C, Cre and BUN were performed to evaluate the lower limit of detection, precision, setting method of target value, reportable range determination, recovery, linearity, and comparison study with other equipment according to the NCCLS guidelines(EP5-A, EP6-P, EP9-A). The Toshiba-120FR autochemical analyzer showed good precision for all tested items. The data concerning the lower limit of detection, precision(total CV 0.47%~3.65%), setting method of target value, reportable range determination, recovery(93%~111%), linearity($R^2=0.997{\sim}0.999$), and comparison study(r=0.977~0.999) with other equipment was acceptable for all tested items. The results of evaluation for the Toshiba-120FR autochemical analyzer showed that this equipment could be used as an alternative to other equipment.

공진 주파수 분석법에 의한 임플랜트의 안정성 측정에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE MEASUREMENT OF THE IMPLANT STABILITY USING RESONANCE FREQUENCY ANALYSIS)

  • Statement of problem : Successful osseointegration of endosseous threaded implants is dependent on many factors. These may include the surface characteristics and gross geometry of implants, the quality and quantity of bone where implants are placed, and the magnitude and direction of stress in functional occlusion. Therefore clinical quantitative measurement of primary stability at placement and functional state of implant may play a role in prediction of possible clinical symptoms and the renovation of implant geometry, types and surface characteristic according to each patients conditions. Ultimately, it may increase success rate of implants. Purpose : Many available non-invasive techniques used for the clinical measurement of implant stability and osseointegration include percussion, radiography, the $Periotest^{(R)}$, Dental Fine $Tester^{(R)}$ and so on. There is, however, relatively little research undertaken to standardize quantitative measurement of stability of implant and osseointegration due to the various clinical applications performed by each individual operator. Therefore, in order to develop non-invasive experimental method to measure stability of implant quantitatively, the resonance frequency analyzer to measure the natural frequency of specific substance was developed in the procedure of this study. Material & method : To test the stability of the resonance frequency analyzer developed in this study, following methods and materials were used : 1) In-vitro study: the implant was placed in both epoxy resin of which physical properties are similar to the bone stiffness of human and fresh cow rib bone specimen. Then the resonance frequency values of them were measured and analyzed. In an attempt to test the reliability of the data gathered with the resonance frequency analyzer, comparative analysis with the data from the Periotest was conducted. 2) In-vivo study: the implants were inserted into the tibiae of 10 New Zealand rabbits and the resonance frequency value of them with connected abutments at healing time are measured immediately after insertion and gauged every 4 weeks for 16 weeks. Results : Results from these studies were such as follows : The same length implants placed in Hot Melt showed the repetitive resonance frequency values. As the length of abutment increased, the resonance frequency value changed significantly (p<0.01). As the thickness of transducer increased in order of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 mm, the resonance frequency value significantly increased (p<0.05). The implants placed in PL-2 and epoxy resin with different exposure degree resulted in the increase of resonance frequency value as the exposure degree of implants and the length of abutment decreased. In comparative experiment based on physical properties, as the thickness of transducer increased, the resonance frequency value increased significantly(p<0.01). As the stiffness of substances where implants were placed increased, and the effective length of implants decreased, the resonance frequencies value increased significantly (p<0.05). In the experiment with cow rib bone specimen, the increase of the length of abutment resulted in significant difference between the results from resonance frequency analyzer and the $Periotest^{(R)}$. There was no difference with significant meaning in the comparison based on the direction of measurement between the resonance frequency value and the $Periotest^{(R)}$ value (p<0.05). In-vivo experiment resulted in repetitive patternes of resonance frequency. As the time elapsed, the resonance frequency value increased significantly with the exception of 4th and 8th week (p<0.05). Conclusion : The development of resonance frequency analyzer is an attempt to standardize the quantitative measurement of stability of implant and osseointegration and compensate for the reliability of data from other non-invasive measuring devices It is considered that further research is needed to improve the efficiency of clinical application of resonance frequency analyzer. In addition, further investigation is warranted on the standardized quantitative analysis of the stability of implant.

흉수의 pH 측정에서 혈액가스분석기계, pH meter, pH Strip 방법의 비교 (Comparision of Blood Gas Analyser, pH Meter and pH Strip Methods in the Measurement of Pleural Fluid pH)

  • 연구배경 : 흉수의 pH 측정은 흉막천자시 흉수의 원인 진단을 위해 시행되는 중요한 검사항목이며, 특히 부폐렴흉막염이 농흉화되는지를 확인할 수 있는 지표중 하나이다. 흉수의 pH 측정은 혈액가스분석기계를 이용하는 것이 표준이나, 상황에 따라서는 pH meter나 pH strip을 이용하기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 흉수중 삼출액을 대상으로 위의 세가지 방법으로 pH를 측정하고 측정치들을 비교하여 보았다. 방법 : 1999년 8월부터 2000년 3월까지 중앙대학교 부속 용산의료원에 입원하여 삼출성 흉수로 의심되어 흉막 천자를 시행한 34례 (결핵성 흉막염 16명, 부폐렴성 흉수 9명, 폐암 5명, 농흉 3명, 심부전 1명)의 흉수에서 혈액가스분석기계, pH meter, pH strip의 세 가지 방법으로 pH를 측정하였다. 혈액가스분석기계와 pH meter에 의한 측정은 천자후 $0^{circ}C$로 유지하면서 30분 내에 시행하였으며, pH strip 측정은 흉막천자 직후에 pH strip으로 pH를 측정하고, 상온 상태로 검사실에 내려서 보고되는 결과를 이용하였다. 결과 : 34례 흉수의 pH 값 (평균값$\pm$표준편차)은 혈액가스 분석법 7.34$\pm$0.12, pH meter 법 7.52$\pm$0.25, pH strip 법 중, 흉막천자후 즉시검사의 경우에는 7.37$\pm$0.16 였으며, 검사실에서 측정한 pH strip법은 6.93$\pm$0.20으로, 혈액가스분석법을 기준으로 한 평균치 분석에서 검사실에서 측정한 pH strip 법은 의미있는 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 혈액가스분석법과 pH meter 방법, 그리고 혈액가스 분석법과 천자직후 pH strip법의 사이에는 의미있는 상관관계가 있었고, 혈액가스분석법과 pH strip 법 사이에는 의미있는 상관관계가 없었다. 결론 : 흉수천자 직후에 측정한 pH strip 법은 비교적 간단하고 정확하게 흉수의 pH를 측정할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
