Personal value and lifestyle have been regarded as the common factors in many studies of the destination selection. And the evaluations by visitors or tourists of certain destinations have been conducted in many respects. Based on those influential factors and measures from the review of the previous researches, this article considers the impact of residents' evaluation of the tourism resources in their own resident area on selecting destinations of their future overseas trips as well as their personal value and lifestyle. This article is aimed to reveal whether the impact exists, and if so, to what extent this impact can expand. According to the result, perception of tourism resources in residential area has impact on preferred destination, although its impact was relatively less than those of personal value and lifestyle. The more highly perceived the tourism resources are found, the more preferred tourist destination with abundant tourism attractions are. And the lowly perceived the cost of living in residential area is found, the more preferred the consumption-oriented tourist destinations are. It would be helpful for the product developers like travel agents or product marketers to know and predict the tendency of people s present evaluation of their areas and the future destination selection tendency for their trips.

Cytauxzoonosis is caused by Cytauxzoon felis (C. felis) in wild and domestic cats. However, cytauxzoonosis is uncommon in Asia. Additionally, clinical reports of C. felis infection along with associated complications are rare. A seven-year-old neutered male Maine Coon cat was presented with acute dyspnea and lethargy despite the absence of a history of overseas travel. Mild regenerative anemia and autoagglutination were detected in hematological investigations. The parasitic and viral PCR assays revealed infection with C. felis and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Thoracic radiographs showed pleural effusion with secondary bacterial infection. Ultimately, a diagnosis of infection-induced secondary immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) and pyothorax was established. The cat was treated with a combination of atovaquone, prednisolone, and cyclosporine over 6 months and the final treatment was completed 8 months after initiation of therapy. This is the first report of its kind demonstrating successful management of feline IMHA and fatal pyothorax induced by FIV and C. felis in South Korea.

A complicated case of echinococcosis with multiple organ involvement is reported in a 53-year-old businessman who frequently traveled overseas, including China, Russia, and Kazakhstan from 2001 to 2007. The patient was first diagnosed with a large liver cyst during a screening abdomen ultrasonography in 2011, but he did not follow up on the lesion afterwards. Six years later, dizziness, dysarthria, and cough developed, and cystic lesions were found in the brain, liver and lungs. The clinical course was complicated when the patient went through multiple surgeries and inadequate treatment with a short duration of albendazole without a definite diagnosis. The patient visited our hospital for the first time in August 2018 due to worsening symptoms; he was finally diagnosed with echinococcosis using imaging and serologic criteria. He is now on prolonged albendazole treatment (400 mg twice a day) with gradual clinical and radiological improvement. A high index of suspicion is warranted to early diagnose echinococcosis in a patient with a travel history to endemic areas of echinococcosis.

Simian malaria is a zoonotic disease caused by Plasmodium knowlesi infection. The common natural reservoir of the parasite is the macaque monkey and the vector is the Anopheles mosquito. Human cases of P. knowlesi infection has been reported in all South East Asian countries in the last decade, and it is currently the most common type of malaria seen in Malaysia and Brunei. Between 2007-2017, 73 cases of P. knowlesi infection were notified and confirmed to the Ministry of Health in Brunei. Of these, 15 cases (21%) were documented as work-related, and 28 other cases (38%) were classified as probably related to work (due to incomplete history). The occupations of those with probable and confirmed work related infections were border patrol officers, Armed Forces and security personnel, Department of Forestry officers, boatmen and researchers. The remaining cases classified as most likely not related to work were possibly acquired via peri-domestic transmission. The risk of this zoonotic infection extends to tourists and overseas visitors who have to travel to the jungle in the course of their work. It can be minimised with the recommended use of prophylaxis for those going on duty into the jungles, application of mosquito/insect repellants, and use of repellant impregnated uniforms and bed nets in jungle camp sites.

The development of web 2.0 technologies created the popularization of social media. People use social media for information communication with many purposes. Under such an environment, this paper examines the acceptance of word-of-mouth information dissemination through social media. The determinants of acceptance and the effect of acceptance on purchase intention as the result of information on social media pertaining to overseas tourism are researched in detail. The consumer choice for international travel involves a decision making with high uncertainty and thus people are using the word of mouth information strongly. Empirical analysis using SPSS, AMOS analysis software was performed on sample data consisting of 385 collected surveys. This paper shows the neutrality of eWOM, the professionalism of senders, and that the practicability of eWOM significantly affects the acceptance of the information. In addition, the acceptance of eWOM information has a significant effect on the spread of eWOM and customers' purchase intention. The paper shows that the practicability of information and the professionalism of word-of-mouth information should be improved.

The proliferation of online reviews on dining experiences has significantly affected consumers' choices of restaurants, especially overseas. Food quality, service, ambiance, and price have been identified as specific attributes for the choice of a restaurant in prior studies. In addition to these four representative attributes, cultural factors, which may also significantly impact the choice of a restaurant for tourists, in particular, have not received much attention in previous studies. This study employs the text mining technique to analyze over 10,000 online reviews of 76 Korean restaurants posted by Chinese tourists on dianping.com to explore the influence of cultural factors on the consumer's choice of restaurants in the overseas travel context. The findings reveal that "Hallyu (Korean Wave)" influences Chinese tourists' dining experiences in Korea and their satisfaction. Moreover, Korean food-related words, such as cold noodle, bibimbap, rice cake, pig trotters, and kimchi stew, appeared across all the review topics. Our findings contribute to the existing tourism and hospitality literature by identifying the critical role of cultural factors on consumers', especially tourists', satisfaction with the choice of a restaurant using text mining. The findings also provide practical guidance to restaurant owners in Korea to attract more Chinese tourists.

Echinococcus granulosus, an intestinal tapeworm of dogs and other canids, infects humans in its larval stage and causes human echinococcosis or hydatid disease. In the Republic of Korea, 31 parasite-proven human echinococcosis cases have been reported, most of which were imported from the Middle East. We recently examined a 61-year-old Korean man who had a large cystic mass in his liver. ELISA was negative for tissue parasitic infections, including echinococcosis, cysticercosis, paragonimiasis, and sparganosis. The patient underwent surgery to remove the cyst, and the resected cyst was processed histopathologically for microscopic examinations. In sectioned cyst tissue, necrotizing protoscolices with disintegrated hooklets of E. granulosus were found. In some areas, only freed, fragmented hooklets were detected. The patient had traveled to western and central Europe in 1996, and had no other history of overseas travel. We report our patient as a hepatic echinococcosis case which was probably imported from Europe.

This study analyzed the persuasive marketing communication strategy which applied by showhost for TV homeshopping sales. Specifically, the current study focuses on the comparative analysis of tangible goods and intangible goods sales. Four sales homeshopping TV programs were selected for analysis: two overseas travel package products, one climbing clothes product and one produce of walnut. The method of rhetorical content analysis was conducted to analyze the strategy of persuasive communication. The results shows that , , were commonly used for both tangible and intangible products sales. But , , and were heavily utilized only for intangible products sales. The result of this study can contribute to provide theoretical background for future advanced research, although it has a limitation of only analyzing four sales programs.

The global medical tourism industry including Asian market has been activating recently. That is as medical tourists are motivated to seek the higher quality of healthcare with lower costs, as well as of travel. The consumers in this field tend to need customized services of medical tourism. It is needed that the consumers get customized information on medical services and traveling, the clinics and hospitals resolve the issues of offering translation and luring medical tourists from overseas, and the guides, who offer tour and translation service, provide the consumers and the clinics with customized services so that they get the services needed for one another. This research studies the Offline to Online, called O2O, matching platform based on global clinics, which connects medical facilities, patients, and guides for traveling and language services. It presents the customized marketing plans by utilizing customers' experiences from medical services and traveling they use.

In recent years, large scale damages from arbovirus infections by mosquitoes have been reported worldwide due to factors such as change in global climate, increased overseas travel, and increased logistics movement between countries. Among them, Zika virus and dengue virus belonging to genus Flavivirus are representative. In this study, we performed in-depth analyses of the envelope (E) protein that perform essential functions for host infection of Zika virus and dengue virus based on bioinformatics databases. The domain analysis of E protein was performed to determine the type, location, and function, and homology analysis for each domain. From these results, EDIII showing low homology was identified. The homology and immunogenicity of each peptide constituting EDIII were analyzed and three-dimensional structures were modeled. Furthermore, we discussed their biological meaning and how they could be used.
