Throughout this paper we analyze the system at output point t of two stage cyclic queueing model. Our main result characterize the stochastic process (X$^{o}$ , T$^{o}$ ), the system at output point, as a Markov renewal process. The subsequent lemma exhibits the semi-Markov kernel of (X$^{o}$ , T$^{o}$ ) with state dependent feedback, the possibility of a reducible state space arises. A simple necessary and sufficient condition for the irreducibility of (X$^{o}$ , T$^{o}$ was determinded. This irreducibility implied that (X$^{o}$ , T$^{o}$ ) was aperiodic.
In the steady-state simulation, it is important to identify initialization bias for the correct estimates of the simulation model under study. In this paper, the methods from chaos theory are applied to the determination of truncation points in the simulation data for controlling the initial bias. Two methods are proposed and evaluated based on their effectiveness for estimation the average waiting time in M/M/1($\infty$) queueing model.
The randomness of the input variables in simulation experiments produce output responses which are also realizations of random variables. The random responses make necessary the use of statistical inferences to adequately describe the stochastic nature of the output. The analysis of the simulation output of non-terminating simulations is frequently complicated by the autocorrelation of the output data and the effect of the initial conditions that produces biased estimates. The regenerative method has been developed to deal with some of the problems created by the random nature of the simulation experiments. It provides a simple solution to some tactical problems and can produce valid statistical results. However, not all processes can he modeled using the regenerative method. Other processes modeled as regenerative may not return to a given demarcating state frequently enough to allow for adequate statistical analysis. This paper shows how the state transformation concept was successfully used in a queueing model and a job shop model. Although the first example can be analyzed using the regenerative method. it has the problem of too few recurrences under certain conditions. The second model has the problem of no recurrences. In both cases, the state transformation increase the frequency of the demarcating state. It was shown that time state transformations are regenerative and produce more cycles than the best typical discrete demarcating state in a given run length.
This paper proposes the new structural MOQ(Multiple Input/Output-Queued) switch which guarantees QoS while maintaining high efficiency and deals with the Anti-Empty algorithm which is new arbitration algorithm to be used for the proposed switch. The new structure of the proposed switch based on MIQ, MOQ is designed to have the same buffer speed as the external line speed. Also, the proposed switch makes it possible to remove the weak point of existing methods and introduces the new method of the MOQ operation to support QoS. Therefore, this switch is equal to the Output Queued switch in efficiency and delay, and guarantees the high-speed switching supporting QoS without cell loss.

With the increase of Internet protocol (IP) packets the performance of routers became an important issue in internetworking. In this paper we examined the matching algorithm in gigabit router which has input queue with virtual output queueing. Port partitioning concept is employed to reduce the computational burden of the scheduler within a switch. The input and output ports are divided into two groups such that the matching algorithm is implemented within each input-output pair group in parallel. The matching is performed by exchanging input and output port groups at every time slot to handle all incoming traffics. Two algorithms, maximal weight matching by port partitioning (MPP) and modified maximal weight matching by port partitioning (MMPP) are presented. MMPP has the lowest delay for every packet arrival rate. The buffer size on a port is approximately 20-60 packets depending on the packet arrival rates. The throughput is illustrated to be linear to the packet arrival rate, which can be achieved under highly efficient matching algorithm.

In this paper, we propose the adaptive separated-queueing ATM switching model for the effective processing of the various types of multimedia traffic by virtue of ATM switching network with multiple outlets which is the essential part of B-ISDN. This proposed model employs the dynamically separated buffering mechanism in the processing of two classes of cell, realtime service traffic and non-realtime service traffic, at the output buffer to enhance the overall QoS(Quality of Service). The adopted ATM switch architecture has Batcher-banyan based network, but it uses different topologies and control techniques 6to resolve the cell contention. For the performance evaluation of our proposed method, we have done both analytical modeling and simulation. The both results show that our proposed queueing strategy is quite appropriate to the ATM switch with multiple outlets and can quarantee the QoS requirements of the incoming multimedia traffic.

In a group-testing method, instead of testing a sample, for example, blood individually, a batch of samples are pooled and tested simultaneously. If the pooled test is positive (or defective), each sample is tested individually. However, if negative (or good), the test is terminated at one pooled test because all samples in the batch are negative. This paper considers a queueing system with a two-stage group-testing policy. Samples arrive at the system according to a Poisson process. The system has a single server which starts a two-stage group test in a batch whenever the number of samples in the system reaches exactly a predetermined size. In the first stage, samples are pooled and tested simultaneously. If the pooled test is negative, the test is terminated. However, if positive, the samples are divided into two equally sized subgroups and each subgroup is applied to a group test in the second stage, respectively. The server performs pooled tests and individual tests sequentially. The testing time of a sample and a batch follow general distributions, respectively. In this paper, we derive the steady-state probability generating function of the system size at an arbitrary time, applying a bulk queuing model. In addition, we present queuing performance metrics such as the offered load, output rate, allowable input rate, and mean waiting time. In numerical examples with various prevalence rates, we show that the second-stage group-testing system can be more efficient than a one-stage group-testing system or an individual-testing system in terms of the allowable input rates and the waiting time. The two-stage group-testing system considered in this paper is very simple, so it is expected to be applicable in the field of COVID-19.

In this paper, performance analysis of video traffic shaper for Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) video traffic in on ATM network are investigated. Traffic shaping for MPEG video traffic is proposed as a traffic control function in ATM networks. The proposed shaper smoothes video traffics by controling the output rate of the buffer, which is placed in an MPEG source, according to I,B,P frame sequences of MPEG. In performance analysis of an video traffic shaper, a periodic botch arrival model is suggested to describe cell streams in a frame of MPEG video traffic. The queueing model which has periodic independent botch arrival and periodic deterministic service time is used to obtain the cell loss ratio, the mean cell delay, and the measure of smoothing effect. Simulation results are used to validate this queueing model. The cell loss performance of ATM multiplexer is measured by simulation study with real MPEG-1 data. From the viewpoint of traffic load, the cell loss ratio is observed to be considerably high, which is considered to result from the burstiness of MPEG video traffic. As a result, it is shown that the shaping decreases cell loss ratio of multiplexer. The results of this paper can be employed to establish a basic guideline in the implementation of a traffic control scheme and the design of ATM multiplexer for MPEG video traffic.

Analyzing autocorrelated data set is still an open problem. Developing on easy and efficient method for severe positive correlated data set, which is common in simulation output, is vital for the simulation society. Bootstrap is on easy and powerful tool for constructing non-parametric inferential procedures in modern statistical data analysis. Conventional bootstrap algorithm requires iid assumption in the original data set. Proper choice of resampling units for generating replicates has much to do with the structure of the original data set, iid data or autocorrelated. In this paper, a new bootstrap resampling scheme is proposed to analyze the autocorrelated data set : the Threshold Bootstrap. A thorough literature search of bootstrap method focusing on the case of autocorrelated data set is also provided. Theoretical foundations of Threshold Bootstrap is studied and compared with other leading bootstrap sampling techniques for autocorrelated data sets. The performance of TB is reported using M/M/1 queueing model, else the comparison of other resampling techniques of ARMA data set is also reported.
