  • In mobile/wireless environment, mobility management is widely being focused as one popular researches. But, disruption happens when messages are exchanged between nodes as registration is made after handoff, and unnecessary traffic occurs because of the use of the Random-walk model, in which the probability for MN to move to neighboring cells is equal. In order to solve these problems, this study proposes a technique and algorithm for composing Directional Shadow Registration Region (DSRR) that provides seamless mobility. The core of DSRR is to prevent disruption and unnecessary traffic by minimizing the number o) neighboring cells with a high probability of handoff (AAAF). This study sensed the optimal time for handoff through regional cell division by introducing a division scheme, and then decided DSRR, the region for shadow registration, by applying direction vector (DV) obtained through directional cell sectoring. According to the result of the experiment, the proposed DSRR processes message exchange between nodes within the intra-domain, the frequency of disruptions decreased significantly compared to that in previous researches that process in inter-domain environment. In addition, traffic that occurs at every handoff happened twice in DSRR compared to n (the number of neighboring cells) times in Previous researches. As an additional effect, divided regions obtained from the process of composing DSRR filter MN that moves regardless of handoff.

  • Purpose - The current study is to compare the cognition of stakeholders on hosting a mega sports event between Korea and the United States. In particular, to understand their cognition and perceptual conflict towards hosting a mega sports event, the study employed conflict theory. Furthermore, the study reviewed the role of social capital in the process of managing the mega sports events. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Of homogeneous sampling, purposeful sampling method and criterion-based selection approach were used to collect interview data from key stakeholders who have been involved in hosting a mega sports events in Korea and the United States. In-depth interview transcripts were reviewed multiple tiems after transcription to extract concepts and meanings that were pertinenet to the experience involving hosting a mega sports event. Further member checks was conducted to increase the credibility of the results. Results - Results can be summarized as followed: First, stakeholders of Korea have a strong desire for positive economic effects of a mega sports event, compared to those in the United States who are more concerned in enhancing the public interests and concerns. Second, in Korea, various socio-political issues emerged at the same time and conflicts among multiple stakeholders have aggravated the situations to coordinate the issues. This was because legal system supporting socio-trust has not been established. On the other hand, major stakeholders of the United States consisted of community members who have socio-trust and networks. Thereby these social resources have been found playing a key role in building social capital that assists the stakeholders to coordinate the current issues and to solve them. Conclusions - The current study analyzed the cognition and perceptual conflict of stakehoders in a mega sports event. Social capital has beend found as a key catalyst to increase a network and cooperation among stakeholders. In order to enhance social capital in managing a mega sports event hosted in Korea, legal systems that establish networks and relationships among the related stakeholders need to be developed. Furthermore, the systematic guideline needs to be developed, organizing the sub-committees according to the types of stakeholders and the categorized common needs.

  • Among many open libraries under the rule of the Japanese imperialism, only the railroad library as the character of special library under the control of the Japanese Government General is remarkable for having opened its facilities to outsiders as well as the interior users. This study tries a) To look into what were the colonial background, aim and motive of the establishment of the railroad library under the Japanese rule, b) To analyze its activities and the change of its organization, c) And to find out its vestiges an the effects which it has on our country's library circles. The following are the result: A. The railroad library under the rule of the Japanese imperialism functioned as a public library by the outside book's circulation rather than the interior using. B. The outsiders were qualified to use it only when they got the joint guarantee for the city resident, which means that the o n.0, pportunity of the circulation was not free for the Koreans rather than the Japanese. C. From the aspect of collections, technical books such as natural science, and reference ones tended to be collected, and their whole composition was focused on the materials for the Japan-Korea identification scheme and development of the national spirit as the Japanese empire's subjects. D. In the respect of its organization, all the clerical employees, as well as the chief librarian were composed of the Japanese. Although the Koreans were in principle prohibited from working there, a few of them were employed as guard or servant as the China-Japan War was close to the end. E. The area of the outside book's, circulation service was expanded throughout the whole region along the railroad connecting Pusan with Manchuria. Such a service activity which contained several meanings, was tried by means of culture's books, circuit's books, train's books, hotel's books, mind's development books and reader's reading books etc. F. Such matters as the limitation on book circulating and the quantity of circulation book, the paid circulation and the partial restriction on free circulation mean the wartime system under the rule of the Japanese imperialism and also a n.0, ppeared as a factor of hampering the Koreans from getting accustomed to using library, which has affected them until now. G. The noticeable thing in the service activity is shown in attempting the diversified and positive way of service like free circulation in order to solidify the attitude of the Koreans toward war by organizing mind's development books as well as culture's books with the China-Japan War. H. On the other hand, it can not be passed over that the diversified service activity of the railroad library played a role of bridge in turning of today's library circles of ours to the modernization.

  • This paper is focused on verifying time-space repetition of the highway accident and finding the their causes and deterrents. We classify all months into several seasonal groups, develop the model for each seasonal group and analyze the results of these models for Joong-bu highway. The existence of seasonal effect is verified by the analysis or self-organizing map and the accident indices. Agglomerative hierarchical cluster analysis which is used to decide the seasonal groups in accordance with accident patterns, winter group, spring-fall group. and summer group. The accident features of winter group are that the accident rate is high but the severity rate is low. while those of summer group are that the accident rate is low but the severity rate is high. Also, the regression model which is developed to identify the accident Pattern or each seasonal group represents that the season-related factors, such as the amount of rainfall, the amount of snowfall, days of rainfall, days of snowfall etc. are strongly related to the accident pattern of evert seasonal group and among these factors the traffic volume, amount of rainfall. the amount of snowfall and days of freezing importantly affect the local accident Pattern. So, seasonal effect should be considered to the identification of high-risk road section. the development of descriptive and Predictive accident model, the resource allocation model of accident in order to make safety management plan efficient.

  • This longitudinal quasi-experimental research was conducted to develop parent role education program and to evaluate the effect of this program for mother-infant interaction, childrearing environment and infant development. The subjects were the healthy infants weighing over 2,500gm at birth, whose gestational age was more than 37weeks, and their healthy mothers. The sample consisted of eighteen mother-infant dyads for intervention group and sixteen dyads for control group. Data were collected from March 15th in 1999 to Jun 20th in 2000. The intervention group received programmed education consisted of discharge education, telephone counselling, and home visiting care. But control group were collected data without programmed education. In this study, the Nursing Child Assessment Teaching Scale(NCATS) devised by Barnard was used to determine the mother-infant interaction, HOME was used to determine the childrearing environment, and Griffiths mental development scale was used to determine the infant development. The data were analyzed using SPSS Win using chi-square test, t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA. This study was focused on the results of twelve months time point. Summaries of the results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference in mother-infant interaction(NCATS) between intervention group and control group. But both of two groups showed significantly higher in interaction score at twelve months than at six months in the subscales of social-emotional growth fostering, and responsiveness to caregiver. 2. There was no significant difference in childrearing environment(HOME) between two groups at twelve months. But when each subscale of HOME was examined, intervention group showed higher scores in the dimensions of maternal involvement with child(p=.001), and maternal emotional-verbal responsivity(p=.048). 3. There was no significant difference in GQ of the Griffiths mental development scale between two groups, although significant difference was found in performance subscale. 4. Infant development at twelve months showed significant correlation with mother-infant interaction and childrearing environment at six months, although mother-infant interaction and childrearing environment at twelve months did not show significant correlations with infant development at twelve months. 5. Developmental scores at six months showed significant correlations with variety in daily stimulation, and mother's emotional, verbal responsivity, whereas developmental scores at twelve months showed significant correlations with acceptance of child behavior at six months, and appropriate play material at twelve months. In conclusion, the maternal education program for primipara showed long term effect in some categories in organizing the childrearing environment, and fostering the infant development. We suggest further study and implications of parent role education program for high risk parents such as parents in low economic status or with premature babies.

  • This paper aims to design and implement a collaborative learning system based on the augmented reality. The existing augment reality-based learning systems have just focused on interactivity between a system and learners without consideration of cooperability, thereby leading to an ineffective approach to encouraging an learning system to be more supportive and conducive of and to cooperation among learners. The collaborative learning system is a learning method, with which learners achieve a common objective through critical thinking and cooperative teamwork so as to seek solutions to such fulfillment. This requires positive interdependence, proactive interactions, a sense of responsibility shared by individuals as well as the group, and development of teamwork among learners. Educators and systems assume a critical role in helping the collaborative education be effective. An educator is responsible for defining a project at the outset of learning activities, organizing groups for learners, and providing evaluation criteria applied to a group's project activities. Meanwhile, a system shall support interactions to take place while facilitating learning activities. Furthermore, an educator shall provide a system for managing and evaluating activities involving interactions among learners. This paper suggests and embodies a collaborative learning system based on the augmented reality with consideration of the aforementioned collaborative education.

  • We study convergent factors to depression(CES-D: Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale) among administrative staff in general hospital. The questionnaire was used using an unregistered self-administered questionnaire for 201 staff from 9 general hospitals located in J area from Jul. 3rd, 2017 to Jul. 29th, 2017. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis shows the following results. The depression of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(RES) is lower, a group in which Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(MFS) is higher, a group in which Psychosocial Well-being Index Short Form(PWI-SF) are higher. The results show explanatory power of 32.5%. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase RES, and to decrease MFS and PWI, are required to improve the depression among administrative staff in general hospital. These results could be used in organizing human resource management and industrial health education to lower the level of depression in general hospital administration staff. Following studies need to analyze the structural equation model that effects the depression levels of administrative staff in general hospital.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the home economics(hereafter HE) curriculum in Victoria State, Australia, and to derive the implications for the HE curriculum in Korea. To accomplish the purposes, the contents of the curriculum were analyzed through the relevant web pages, and the actual conditions of the HE curriculum implementation were identified through e-mail and interviews with HE teachers and administrator. The results of this study were as follows. First, the HE curriculum for F-10 was one of the cross-curriculum resources based on the content descriptions and achievement standards of 'Design and Technologies' and 'Health and Physical Education' curriculum. Because the HE curriculum is competency-based curriculum and did not stipulate what was to be taught then, HE teachers had lots of autonomy in organizing and operating the curriculum, which led to the need for professionalism. Second, VCE subjects, both 'Food Studies' and 'Health and Human Development', which are HE elective curriculum for 11th and 12th graders, require students to take written tests produced by the VCAA. Because there are no specific details to be taught in the curriculum, the HE teacher had the need to devise and operate various classes to foster problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, etc. Third, HE teachers had the discretion to create all the subject names, contents to deal with, and evaluations to prepare for the school curriculum, and thus were exerting their professionalism. This was due to the fact that the system was well equipped and VCE subjects were audited, even though teachers' performances were related to their individual competencies.

  • The Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry hosted the $24^{th}$ IAPD Congress in Seoul, Korea on June 12-15, 2013. The main theme of the congress was the "New visions in Pediatric Dentistry" A total number of 1,855 participants, including exhibitors and press from 67 countries, participated in the 24th IAPD Congress. The scientific program consists of 85 invited lectures, 126 oral presentations, and 553 poster presentations. 46 companies and organizations have supported and participated in Seoul IAPD Congress. Overall the congress was a success in terms of high attendance rate from 67 countries over the world. Considering the fact that Korea is located in the far-east, the number of overseas delegates(943) are remarkable. Also it is desirable to have over 100 delegates from developing countries which eventually aim to collaborate worldwide. The scientific program covered a variety of topics and many of the delegates stayed in the session room until the last day of the congress. Although it could have been more beneficial to allot more time for each speaker to discuss further, the program fit the Congress theme "New Visions for Paediatric Dentistry". All social event tickets were sold out early and it attracted participants with interesting program enabling participants to interact and exchange ideas outside of the meeting.

  • The Necessity and Purpose of the Study Recently the number of patients with chronic diseases and the aged patients is increasing steadily. Furthermore, due to the expansion of health insurance system, the number of patients hospitalized in the general hospital is increasing at a surprising speed. However, hospitals urge the early discharge of the patients for the efficiencies of hospital administration, and therefore, the number of patients who must be taken care of in their home is also increasing. Homecare nursing is one of the health care service for the patients at home who require continual attention and care, and now increasing attentions are given to it as one of the professional nursing fields. However, it was almost impossible to find a study on the actual experiences of the homecare nurses written by their own language in Korea, that it also posed a great difficulty in understanding their diverse experience. Considering these situation, this study will help understanding of them, and provide the fundamental data on their experiences for making policies to develop homecare nursing. Methods of Research Phenomenological research method was employed to analyze the lived experiences of homecare nurses fundamentally. Data collection Data were collected from August 1998 to December 1998 from ten homecare nurses who worked for patients under the homecare nursing setting as model cases designated by Seoul Nurses Association and who agreed to the purpose of this study after listening to and understanding the explanation completely. The in-depth interview was carried at the time which was convenient both for the researcher and participants for one or two hours, and recovered with the approval participants. The first interview covered diverse and broad areas like the situation of homecare nursing, and their feelings and thoughts over it, and in the second and third interviews, more specific questions are asked. Data Analysis For the phenomenological analysis, contents analysis was employed. The data collected from the participants were analyzed into the following procedures according to Van Manen 's phenomenological analysis. 1) Reserve the preconception of the researcher by restricting it inside parenthesis. 2) Make a thorough observation of the lived experiences by insight process. 3) Analyze the contents (Find out the repetitive factors) 4) Interpret the essence found. 5) State the meaning of the interpretation. Results and discussion 1. Fear and expectation for the first visit. (unfamiliarity, awkwardness, anxiety, shivering) 2. Mingle with the family (feeling friendly with the family, becoming like a family member) 3. Being proud of her own know-how (learning the know-how, organizing alternatives, building up confidence) 4. Pity for the poor. (criticizing the current government, feeling ashamed, feeling anger) 5. Difficulty of constructing cooperative system with physicians (strenuousness, frustration) 6. Helplessness due to the lack of support system (difficulty to get supplies, annoyance, embarrassment by institutional restraints) 7. Anxiousness for heavy traffic and parking (annoyance, hastiness) 8. Ethical conflicts (pity for the patients and family, skepticism about lengthening life maintenance) 9. Burden for the possible accident (pressure, anxiety, conflict, physical exhaustion) 10. Establishment of identity as a professional (fulfillment, worth, joy) 11. Being distressed at other's ignorance
