There is a recognition that traditional resource sharing methods such as interlibrary lending and document delivery are now inadequate to meet user needs in the increasingly networked environment. The current study identifies barriers to resource sharing and provides analysis of stakeholders engaged in resource sharing. Focused interviews with six professional librarians were also carried out to seek out deeper understanding of perceptions of barriers among librarians. Results show that the size of the library was not necessarily result in active resource sharing. There was a wide gap among librarians in terms of their attitudinal and organizational orientations towards resource sharing. Barriers specifically identified in the study include the narrowly defined notion among librarians of what constitutes research and the untested fear of swamping where there is an imbalance of collections. Overall, while resource sharing is recognized as an integral part of library services, it seriously lacks funding and staff. The study recommends earnest efforts to build librarians' community to invigorate resource sharing among libraries.
In logistic environments, a process, in that it manages the flow of materials among partners, involves more than one organization. In this regard, a logistic process, as a combined process consisting of multiple sub processes, needs to be managed with controling interaction among partners. In achieving systematic management of a logistic process, traditional Business Process Management (BPM) cannot be used for the entire flow, since it lacks the ability to manage interactions among partners. Particularly in logistic environments where RFID technologies are used, how to deal with the connection between RFID event and logistic flow has not been properly addressed. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a new method of managing multi-organizational logistic processes based on RFID events. We define inter-workflow pattern, and suggest ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules for auto triggering of logistic processes. To adjust the rules to RFID events, we invent RFID-based ECA rules using complex event. A prototype system has been developed for the purpose of demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.

This study presents the strategic directions for Korean multi-brand fashion stores by running in-depth industry research and market analysis. Over 20 professionals were selected from Korean multi-brand fashion stores for this study and in-depth interviews were conducted to evaluate related subjects. The results of the study were as follows. First, Korean multi-brand fashion stores could be classified into three criteria: operating ownership, merchandise mix, and store identity. Second, operating ownership criterion was chosen for further investigations of strategies and directions of the multi-brand fashion stores. The operating ownership criterion consists of three types; department store types, specialty store types, and boutique types. Each type deploys different buying practice, organizational strategies, and distribution channels. Lastly, the suggested strategic directions for each type are summarized as follows. The 'department store type' should utilize its strong direct buying capabilities and acquisition of merchandising can be more effectively managed. The store should utilize its strong buying power as a tool to develop new private brands (PBs). For 'specialty store type', two key factors have been derived: market share expansion and positioning themselves to become a new distribution channel. To respond to these factors, the store needs to be perceived as a brand then diversify its business. Strengthening its brand will allow it to expand into a new distribution channel and also enable a strategic partnership with its competitor brands. The factors influencing 'boutique type' is personalization and uniqueness. With an emphasis on the uniqueness of products and merchandising it will be able to implement the role as a personal shopper and stylist to provide a very personalized service to its customers.
Objective: The benefits of screening and early detection of breast cancer, including reduced morbidity and mortality, have been well-reported in the literature. In 2011, a breast cancer screening program was launched in Meknes-Tafilalt region of Morocco. The aim of this study was to evaluate the early performance indicators of this program. Materials and Methods: This retrospective evaluative study was conducted between April 2012 and December 2014, in Meknes-Tafilalt region of Morocco. Several performance indicators of the breast cancer screening program were calculated: the compliance rate, the positivity rate, the referral rate, the cancer detection rate and the organizational indicators. Results: During 2012-2014, a total of 184,951 women participated in the breast cancer screening program. The compliance rate was 26%, the positive rate was 3.3%, the referral rate was 36.7%, and the cancer detection rate was 1.2 per 1,000 women. The median time between the date of clinical breast examination and the date of biopsy (or cyto-puncture) was 36 days. The median time between the date of positive mammography and the date of biopsy (or cyto-puncture) was 6 days. The median time between the date of clinical breast examination and the date of the first received treatment was 61 days. Conclusions: The program needs better monitoring, as well as implementation of quality assurance tools to improve performance in our country.
Determining of Strategic Business Units in the organization is a major critical process for improving the organizational performance. On increasing the demands for extension in function of health center, many health centers are trying to provide the various services. But most health center determined the kind and level of service without scientific considerations. The purposes of this study are to develope the model for determination of strategic business units in health center and to test the availability of implementation for it. Our model is rooted from the McKinsey matrix analysis of Product Portfolio Analysis which used widely in marketing field. We modified the evaluation criteria of the McKinsey matrix analysis for health care field appropriately. Our evaluation criteria are categorized into two concepts; contribution of service, availability of service. At first, in terms of contribution of service, market size, market growth rate, needs and demands of regional people, existences of alternative services in that region, correspondence with health policy. The other component, availability of service are included the availability of manpower, financial availability, the level of knowhow on service, acceptance of health care manpower. In the result of analysis, we could conclude that antismoking and antialcoholics education programs, health screening program are important strategically in that aspects of contributions and availability of services. Also, vaccination program is important in that aspect of service availability and diet and exercise program, health library are meaningful in the aspect of service contribution. Therefore, we think that efforts to investigate the evaluation criteria for priority setting or determination of service area in health center are useful challenges.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan to establishment and management for a library for old adults. Therefore, the library for old adults defined to the concept of providing a specialized service by providing the necessary material with an elderly user over 65 focus. And presenting the basic direction and specific direction, organizational plan, and ordinance on establishment and management of a library for older adults. In addition, after conducting a semi-structured interview based on a pre-prepared questionnaire targeting 30 elderly people aged 65 or older who had experiences using public libraries, the results were analyzed, and 20 responses indicated that the purpose of using the library was a way to participate in the program as an essential service for the elderly. 12 respondents stated that the purpose of using the library was possibly a necessity for such things as writing autobiographies and reflections of historical events. Lastly, investigating the operational cases of two public libraries that already utilize elderly learning and health information rooms, it was concluded that the operation of the elderly library also needs to reflect the regional differences and characteristics unique to older adults.

There are growing interests for knowledge-based information to build up competitiveness both in public and in private. Construction industry compared to other industries, shows strong knowledge usages in products and process. R&D investment over the construction industry has been decreased since economic crisis (IMF), so technology status of domestic construction industry has gap of 4.6 years with developed countries. Information infra also lowers in use of information and investment than other industries. In case of knowledge management, usage of information technology and vision establishment show high status but knowledge sharing and evaluation stay in low level. For the administration of knowledge-based information, there are needs of continuous R&D investments, educations for inspiring employees to knowledge share, systems for knowledge estimation and evaluation, and organizational culture.
Information sharing is one of the key factors enhancing government efficiency and public convenience. However, critics argue that Korean government is now facing various kinds of barriers such as insufficient collaboration among agencies, inappropriate statutes, and technical problems. Thus, this study aims to develop policy alternatives that help resolve the existing problems suggested above. In order to achieve research objectives, this study employs both quantitative and qualitative methods as ways to investigate different dimensions of information sharing in government. Both survey and interview include six dimensions such as organization, technology, culture, management, policy and law. The results show that Korean government needs to implement following alternatives; developing its own database that helps support government decision making, changing organizational culture, continuous extension in terms of the number of object information and affiliated agency, and developing a statute dealing with government information sharing.

The purpose of this descriptive, correlational study was to identify, describe the patterns of nursing unit culture, nursing performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention in the hospital setting, and to analyze the relationships between nursing unit culture, nursing performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention among the characteristic of the subjects The subject consisted of 223 nurses who were employed in medical & surgical units of 3 different University hospitals in Seoul. Data collection was done in November, 1996 by means of questionnaire. The instruments used for this study were the questionnaire based on the Nursing unit cultural assessment tool developed by Coeling(1993), Nursing performance scale used by Yoon(1991), Job satisfaction scale developed by Slavitt, et al.(1978) and Turnover intention scale used by Lee(1995). The data were analyzed by percentage distribution. Pearson correlation coefficient and ANOVA. The summarized results were as follows: 1. There was significant differences in the nursing unit culture between individual cultural behavior and group cultural behavior. 2. There was positive correlation between nursing unit culture, nursing performance and job satisfaction. 3. There was negative correlation between nursing unit culture and turnover intention. 4. There was significant difference in nursing performance efficiency according to the age, educational level, professional carrier in the nursing unit, in the hospital. 5. There was significant difference in turnover intention according to the age, educational level. According to these results, the following implications can be made ; 1. It needs to study on the nursing unit culture in other size hospitals and compare them to these results. 2. It is necessary to assess nursing unit culture and endeaveor good climate for the nursing organizational outcomes and prepare the training course of leadership of nurse manager. 3. In nursing administration, there should be an emphasis on assessment of staff nurses' cultural behavior in case of nurses' orientation, allocation, recruitment, continuning education, so that staff nurses' performance and job satisfaction will be increased and trunover intention will be decreased.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among psycho-social well-being, and health perception and behavior in clinical nurses. Methods: The data were collected from 362 nurses employed at five general hospitals. A self-reported questionnaire was used to assess demographics and job characteristics, health perception and behavior, depression, and psycho-social stress. The data were analysed using Cronbach's alpha, descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Results: While nurses perceived themselves to be in good health, represented by a high mean for health perceptions, actual health behavior was poor as the mean for health behavior was low. Forty two percents of the subjects were categorized as having major depression and high-stress levels. There were statistically significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to age, marital status, years of employment, and monthly salary. Also, there were significant differences in psycho-social well-being according to health perception, regular meals and exercise, sufficient sleep, job related injury and accident, and absences for ill. Conclusion: In order to prevent depression and improve psycho-social well-being among clinical nurses, organizational support and health management needs to be focused on high-risk nurses. Furthermore, it is essential to consider the health perception and behavior of clinical nurses.
