  • This study aims to develop a conceptual framework linking antecedents and consequences of online platform experience in the context of hospitality businesses. In doing so, an introduction to online platform experience in the hospitality industry was made, and environmental stimuli, that is, enablers of online platform experience were identified: information, entertainment and relation. Additionally, the theoretical review attempted to explain how customers are likely to be engaged in, and to be loyal to, the hospitality organizations' provisions in the context of online platforms. When presenting the theoretical model, a Stimulus-Organism-Response paradigm was employed to propose the hypotheses predicting positive online platform experience, which seems to derive from internally provoked cognition and affection within individuals, leading to behavioral consequences. This model is expected to be applicable to the online context, where hospitality businesses tend to adopt the concept of gamification and to implement associated loyalty programs. Finally, theoretical and practical implications, along with potential avenues of future research, were discussed.

  • Topology may described a pattern of existence of elements of a given set X. The family ${\tau}(X)$ of all topologies given on a set X form a complete lattice. We will give some topologies on this lattice ${\tau}(X)$ using a topology on X and regard ${\tau}(X)$ a topological space. A topology ${\tau}$ on X can be regarded a map from X to ${\tau}(X)$ naturally. Such a map will be called topology field. Similarly we can also define pe-topology field. If X is a topological flow group with acting group T, then naturally we can get a another topological flow ${\tau}(X)$ with same acting group T. If the topological flow X is minimal, we can prove ${\tau}(X)$ is also minimal. The disjoint unions of the topological spaces can describe some topological systems (topological organisms). Here we will give a definition of topological organism. Our purpose of this study is to describe some properties concerning patterns of relationship between topology fields and topological organisms.

  • A novel bioabsorbable suture material, poly(glycolide-caprolactone) (PGLCL) monofilament, was prepared by spinning of the PGLCL copolymer. The physical properties, strength retention, biocompatibility, and organism resolvability of the PGLCL monofilament were investigated. The results showed that the knot pull strength of the monofilament was higher than that stated in European Pharmacopoeia. The in vivo retention strength following implantation was 64%, 23%, 7%, and 0% after one, two, three, and four weeks, respectively. Mortality, clinical signs, validation, and sterility tests indicated that all items had passed. Organism resolvability tests showed that the PGLCL monofilament, as a suture, was absorbed within 91 days.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary school students' understanding of the human body by drawing the human organism. Data was gathered by open questionnaires of drawing for human body. The open questionnaire was taken with 530 elementary school students from 3rd to 6th grade. The results were as following: First, elementary school students show the highest understanding of the skeletal system, the digestive systems, the respiratory systems, the circulating system and the muscular system respectively. Second, elementary school students' understanding of the human body improved as the grade goes up. Third, it seems that elementary school students have had their own knowledge about the human body through environmental surroundings before learning about the human body.

  • A yeast-like organism was isolated from a urine sample of a 6-year-old neutered male miniature poodle dog with urinary tract infection, diabetes ketoacidosis, and acute pancreatitis. We identified the yeast-like organism to be Candida glabrata and found that this fungus was highly resistant to azole antifungal drugs. To understand the mechanism of azole resistance in this isolate, the sequences and expression levels of the genes involved in drug resistance were analyzed. The results of our analysis showed that increased drug efflux, mediated by overexpression of ATP transporter genes CDR1 and PDH1, is the main cause of azole resistance of the C. glabrata isolated here.

  • Fusarium wilt of lisianthus occurred severely throughout all cultivation areas, especially in alpoine areas during summer season and the disease incidence was 5 to 30 percent in Korea. The major symptoms of the disease were wilt with chlorosis and water deficiency, stunted plants and scorched leaves. Severe symptoms appeared just after high temperature period around late August in Daekwallyong area. Whit and pale red colored mycelia were developed on stems of infected plants near the soil surface. The causal organism of Fusarium wilt of lisianthus was isolated and identified as Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. eustomae on the basis of pathogenic and cultural characteristics. The causal organism was reisolated from all infected and inoculated stems of plants. This is the first report referring to F. oxysporum f. sp. eustomae of lisianthus in Korea.

  • This paper proposes a method for extracting tissue cells from an organism image by an electron microscope and getting the whole cell number and the area from the cell. In general, the difference between the cell color and the background is used to extract tissue cell. However, there may be a problem when overlapped cells are seen as a single cell. To solve the problem, we split them by using cell size and curvature. This method has a 99% accuracy rate. To measure the cell area, we compute two areas, the inside and boundary of the cell. The inside is simply calculated by the number of pixels. The cell boundary is obtained by applying super sampling, linear interpolation, and cubic spline interpolation. It improves the error rate, 18%, 19%, and 120% respectively, in comparison to the counting method that counts a pixel area as 1.

  • Frequent isolation of Enterococcus faecalis from root canal treated teeth with apical periodontitis, has proposed the role of this organism in endodontic treatment failures. Different factors have been suggested in the pathogenicity of this organism. In this study, 22 E. faecalis isolates from canals of root-filled teeth were identified, and phenotypic and genotypic characteristics were investigated. No resistance to vancomycin and gentamicin was noted, and most isolates (91%) were susceptible to ampicillin. Biofilm formation was detected in 73% of the isolates and may be considered as the most important virulence factor involved in the pathogenesis of these isolates.

  • Although it has been intensively studied over the past few decades, pancreatic cancer remains one of the most lethal cancers. Eriodictyol, a plant-derived flavonoid mainly found in citrus fruits, exerts diverse biological effects, including anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study, we investigated the anticancer properties of eriodictyol and its mechanisms of action in pancreatic cancer cells. In both SNU213 and Panc-1 cells, eriodictyol decreased viability, induced apoptosis, and decreased clonogenicity. In addition, eriodictyol treatment increased the phosphorylation level of JNK and decreased the phosphorylation levels of ERK, FAK, and AKT. These observations provide insight into the molecular mechanisms of eriodictyol-induced apoptosis in pancreatic cancer cell lines, and could contribute to the development of candidate compounds for treating pancreatic cancer.
