  • In this paper, we consider an Inventory system with multi-suppliers. A supply agreement is made with one of the suppliers, to deliver a fixed quantity Q evry review period ; That is, adapting to discounts of under the condition of free addition often implies that the timing and sizes of future replenishment orders are less predetermined. The replenishment decisions for the other supplier are governed by a replenishment policy. This paper, multiple suppliers strategy is a combination of a push system (the main supplier delivers every review period a predetermined quantity Q) and a pull system the replenishment orders placed at other suppliers are governed by replenishment policy. The costs are defined as the sum of the ordering, holding, purchasing and opportunity costs. Based on numerical results, conclusions follow about the division of the replenishment volume among the inventory policy.

  • Multi-item inventory problems can be well characterized by the nature of interaction of the quantities and timing. This interaction may be due to the effect of certain combination of orders. It is that the set-up cost of ordering individual items can be saved by jointly ordering at a time. This study finds a decision criteria of optimum inventory policy through the comparisons of individual multi-item order policy(IMP), joint multi-item order policy(JMP), augmented multi-item order policy(AMP) in cost ratio. Subsequently we assume that there exists a unique optimum order level corresponding to an optimum reorder range for the augmented multi-item order, at which a cost saying is maximum.

  • In this paper, we consider an economic order quantity(EOQ) and an optimal discount pricing policy for the monopsony related to the weapon system acquisition. In the monopsony case, a buyer wishes to maximize the profit. However, a seller wants to minimize the total inventory related cost since a buyer can determine the purchase price for the product. We develop a generalized version of EOQ model for the monopsony, including one seller-one buyer model and two seller-one buyer model. A model of buyer reaction to any given pricing scheme is developed to show that there exits a unified pricing policy which motivates the buyer to increase its ordering quantity per order, thereby reducing the joint(buyer and seller) ordering and holding costs in the system.

  • This paper concerns a joint replenishment problem for a single buyer who sells multiple types of items to end-customers. The buyer periodically replenishes the inventory of each item to a preset order-up-to-level to satisfy the end customers' demands, which may be non-stationary. A joint replenishment policy characterized by variable order-up-to-levels is proposed for the buyer who wishes to minimize the expected cost of operating the retail system. The proposed policy starts each period by calculating the expected cost of ordering and not ordering action based on the information of the current inventory position and forecasted demand for the upcoming period. It then takes advantage of an integer programming model to get a cost effective joint replenishment plan. Computer experiment was performed to test efficiency of the proposed policy. When compared with the most efficient policy currently available, our policy showed a considerable cost savings especially for the problems having non-stationary demands.

  • The Bidding System of the public IT project in Korea is fallen behind, because of the ordering habitual practice based old system, overcompetition based sealed bid and subcontract practice. To innovate this old-fashioned practice for public IT project bidding, this paper wants to generate a proper improvement direction of the public IT project contract law and the related policy through the literature review about the ordering and receiving system in Korea, the practical survey about bidding marketplace in Korea, and competition between bidding system and/or policy of major countries: USA, UK, France and Japan. As a result of practical survey, many problems of the current public IT project bidding system came out and improvement ideas toward future situation turned up. These outputs implicate that the current law and system related public IT project demands better improvement work for the future ubiquitous Korea. Therefore, this paper, to solve these problems about bidding systems and practice, propose the new public IT project contract law and the related policy, reflecting these improvement ideas by the practical survey and the literature review, and benchmarking points from bidding system of other countries.

  • Three inspection-ordering policies of a part with three types of lead times, i. e., expedited lead time, special lead time and regular lead time are considered. Policy I : The original part is replaced by a spare immediately after delivery, even if the original part is still operating. Policy II : The delivered spare is put into inventory until the original part failes. Policy III : The original part is inspected once again immediately after the delivery of the spare. If it is in a good state, the original part is used up to its mean degradation time, then replaced. If it is in a degradation state, the original part is replaced by a spare. A cost effectiveness for each policy is analyzed. Optimal inspection-ordering policy which maximizes a cost effectiveness is obtained. Time to degradation distribution and time to failure distribution are assumed to be Weibull and exponential, respectively. Variations of policies are observed with respect to variations of associated costs.

  • Trump's withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and his "America First" trade agenda ignite a second round of interest in mega-free trade agreements in the Asia-Pacific. Countries are evaluating alternative trade policy actions in a post-TPP era. Using national real GDP gains estimated by a modified GTAP model to construct "preference ordering" for 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations members and their six regional dialogue partners, this paper comes up with several policy-oriented findings. First, when multilateral agreements are not possible, countries are better off with a regional trading agreement than without one. Second, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership is likely to have higher beneficial impacts than the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. Third, for dual-track countries, implementing both agreements is better than each separately. Fourth, impacts of open regionalism are likely to be higher than those of a closed and reciprocal one. Going forward, this paper argues that countries should adopt a "multi-track, multi-stage" approach to trade policy.

  • This paper deals with the problem of determining the optimal ordering quantity under the condition of a free addition. It is assumed that the supplier permits a fixed free addition depending on the amount of the quantity purchased by the customer. Investigation of the properties of an optimal solution allows us to develop an algorithm whose validity is illustrated through an example problem.

  • A (s, S) inventory policy is studied for a continuous inventory model in which lead times are dependent on the ordering quantity. The model assumes that at most one order is outstanding and demands occur in a compound poison process. The steady-state probability distributions of the inventory levels are derived so as to determine the long-run expected average cost. And the computational procedure is presented.

  • We investigate pricing and ordering policies in a supply chain consisting of a single manufacturer and a single retailer. Demand at the retailer depends on the retail price and is assumed to be constant over time for the fixed price. The retailer places orders according to an EOQ policy and the manufacturer produces the order quantity according to a lot-for-lot policy. The retailer and the manufacturer cooperates each other to maximize the average profit for the supply chain. A mathematical model is presented and a solution procedure is developed to determine the optimal retail price and order quantity.
