This paper introduces models for preventive maintenance policies and considers periodic preventive maintenance policy with minimal repair when the failure of system occurs. It is assumed that minimal repairs do not change the failure rate of the system. The failure rate under prevention maintenance received an effect by a previously prevention maintenance and the slope of failure rate increases the model where it considered. Also the start point of failure rate under prevention maintenance considers the degradation of system and that it increases quotient, it assumed. Per unit time it bought an expectation cost from under this prevention maintenance policy. We obtain the optimal period time and the number for the periodic preventive maintenance by using Nakagawa's Algorithm, which minimizes the expected cost rate per unit time. Finally, it suppose that the failure time of a system has a Weibull distribution as an example and we obtain an expected cost rate per unit time the optimal period time and the number when cost of replacement and cost of minimal repair change.
Purpose: This paper proposes the non-periodic preventive maintenance policy based on the level of cumulative hazard intensity. We aim to construct a cost-effectiveness on the proposed model with relaxing the constraint on reliability. Methods: We use the level of cumulative hazard intensity as a condition variable, instead of reliability. Such a level of cumulative hazard intensity can derive the reliability which decreases as the frequency of preventive maintenance action increases. We also model the imperfect preventive maintenance action using the proportional age setback model. Conclusion: We provide a numerical example to illustrate the proposed model. We also analyze how the parameters of our model affect the optimal preventive maintenance policy. The results show that as long as high reliability is guaranteed, the inefficient preventive maintenance action is performed reducing the system operation time. Moreover, the optimal value of the proposed model is sensitive to changes in preventive maintenance cost and replacement cost.
The method in this study, which is more efficiency than the existing method, propose the optimal rehabilitation model based on the deterioration prediction of the laying pipe by using the deterioration survey method of the water distribution system. The deterioration prediction model divides the deterioration degree of each pipe into 5 degree by using the probabilistic neural network. Also, the optimal residual durability is estimated by the calculated deterioration degree in each pipe and pipe diameter. The optimal rehabilitation model by integer programming base on the shortest path can calculate a time and cost of maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement. Also, the model is divided into budget constraint and no budget constraint. Consequently, the model proposed by the study can be utilized as the quantitative method for the management of the water distribution system.

This research is to examine the selected method of optimal mixing proportion and cost analysis in the super flowing concrete. As confined water $ratio($\beta_p$)$ and K is introduced, itis to establish optimal mixing design of super flowing concrete according to the steps of paste, mortar and concrete. From paste and mortar test, it was led to $$\beta_p$$ and $K_p$satisfying the optimum condions depending on the kinds of binders. Then $$\beta_p$$ and $K_p$ is reflected to the mix condition of super flowing concrete. The result of test, the mix condition of super flowing concrete satisfied the quality performance of concrete with adjustment of additional rate of the superplasticizer. Besides, in case of design strength $350kg/\textrm{cm}^2$ of concrete, material cost in super flowing concrete is able to be reduced 5~16% in replacement of fly ash 30% in ordinary portland cement and slag cement.

In this paper the new intensity measures (IMs) for probabilistic seismic analysis of RC high-rise buildings with core wall structural system are proposed. The existing IMs are analysed and the new optimal ones are presented. The newly proposed IMs are based on the existing ones which: 1) comprise a wider range of frequency velocity spectrum content and 2) are defined as the integral along the velocity spectrum. In analysis characteristics of optimal IMs such as: efficiency, practicality, proficiency and sufficiency are considered. As prototype buildings, RC high-rise buildings with core wall structural system and with characteristic heights: 20-storey, 30-storey and 40-storey, are selected. The non-linear 3D models of the prototype buildings are constructed. 720 non-linear time-history analyses are conducted for 60 ground motion records with a wide range of magnitudes, distances to source and various soil types. Statistical processing of results and detailed regression analysis are performed and appropriate demand models which relate IMs to demand measures (DMs), are obtained. The conducted analysis has shown that the newly proposed IMs can efficiently predict the DMs with minimum dispersion and satisfactory practicality as compared to the other commonly used IMs (e.g., PGA and $S_a(T_1)$). The newly proposed IMs overcome difficulties in calculating of integral along the velocity spectrum and present adequate replacement for IMs which comprise a wider range of frequency velocity spectrum content.
The optimal conditions for the continuous production of $\gamma$-aminobutyric acid by immobilization of Lactobacillus brevis BH-21 using column type reactor were investigated. The optimal conditions of operation were 2.2 mm diameter bead of 3.0% sodium alginate at 10 mL/h of substrate feeding rate. Continuous production by immobililzed cells showed the highest productivity with replacement of fresh medium in every 48h for fourth fermentatoin cycle following the rendition of $\gamma$-aminobutyric acid productivity. A productivity of $\gamma$-aminobutyric acid could be obtained for 25 days by continuous column type reactor under optimal conditions.

In a general fractional factorial design, the n-levels of a factor are coded by the $n^{th}$ roots of the unity. Pistone and Rogantin (2007) gave a full generalization to mixed-level designs of the theory of the polynomial indicator function using this device. This article discusses the optimal blocking scheme for nonregular designs. According to hierarchical principle, the minimum aberration (MA) has been used as an important criterion for selecting blocked regular fractional factorial designs. MA criterion is mainly based on the defining contrast groups, which only exist for regular designs but not for nonregular designs. Recently, Cheng et al. (2004) adapted the generalized (G)-MA criterion discussed by Tang and Deng (1999) in studying $2^p$ optimal blocking scheme for nonregular factorial designs. The approach is based on the method of replacement by assigning $2^p$ blocks the distinct level combinations in the column with different blocks. However, when blocking level is not a power of two, we have no clue yet in any sense. As an example, suppose we experiment during 3 days for 12-run Plackett-Burman design. How can we arrange the 12-runs into the three blocks? To solve the problem, we apply G-MA criterion to nonregular mixed-level blocked scheme via the mixed-level indicator function and give an answer for the question.

This study was carried out to analyze water suspension in the water supply system through fault tree analysis. And quantitative factors was evaluated to minimize water suspension. Consequently the aim of this study is to build optimal planning by analyzing scenarios for water suspension. Accordingly the fault tree model makes it possible to estimate risks for water suspension, current risks is $92.23m^3/day$. The result of scenario analysis by pipe replacement, risks for water suspension was reduced $7.02m^3/day$ when replacing WD4 pipe. As a result of scenario analysis by water district connections, the amount of risk reduction is maximized when it is connecting to network pipe of D Zone. Therefore, connecting to network pipe for D Zone would be optimal to reduce risk for water suspension.

This paper proposes an algorithm that seeks the optimal solution for an assignment problem through a simplified process. Generally it is Hungarian algorithm that is prevalently used to solve a given assignment problem. The proposed algorithm reduces 4 steps Hungarian algorithm into 2 steps. Firstly, the algorithm selects the minimum cost from a matrix and deletes the rest of the rows and columns. Secondly, it improves on the solution through reassignment process. For 27 balanced assignment problems and 7 unbalanced problems, the proposed algorithm has successfully yielded the optimal solution, which Genetic algorithm has failed. This algorithm is thus found to be an appropriate replacement of Hungarian algorithm.
In this study, based on a 12L class diesel engine, a natural gas-diesel dual fuel engine was developed by adding natural gas fuel supply system. For optimal control of dual fuel engine, a conventional diesel engine ECU and a dual fuel ECU were utilized. To convert the dual fuel engine, MPI natural gas injectors were installed on the new modified intake manifold adapter. As a results, the dual fuel engine showed same level of torque, power performance and exhaust gas emissions as those of a diesel base engine.. Furthermore, overall fuel replacement rate was 70~76 % and total fuel cost saving was 37~40%.
