Traffic offloading is a promising solution to solve the explosive growth of mobile traffic. One of offloading schemes, in LIPA/SIPTO(Local IP Access and Selected IP Traffic Offload) offloading, we can offload mobile traffic that can satisfy QoS requirement for application. In addition, it is necessary for traffic offloading using social context due to large traffic from SNS. Thus, we propose the LIPA/SIPTO offloading algorithm using social context. We define the application selection probability using social context, the application popularity. Then, we find the optimal offloading weighting factor to maximize the QoS(Quality of Service) of small cell users in term of effective data rate. Finally, we determine the offloading ratio by this application selection probability and optimal offloading weighting factor. By performance analysis, the effective data rate achievement ratio of the proposed algorithm is similar with the conventional one although the total offloading ratio of the proposed algorithm is about 46 percent of the conventional one.

In this paper, we consider a renewable repair-replacement warranty strategy with age-dependent minimal repair service and propose an optimal maintenance model during post-warranty period. Such model implements the repair time limit under warranty and follows with a certain form of system maintenance strategy when the warranty expires. The expected cost rate is investigated per unit time during the life period of the system as for the standard for optimality. Based on the cost design defined for each failure of the system, the expected cost rate is derived during the life period of the system, considering that a renewable minimal repair-replacement warranty strategy with the repair time limit is provided to the customer under warranty. When the warranty is finished, the maintenance of the system is the customer's responsibility. The life period of the system is defined and the expected cost rate is developed from the viewpoint of the customer's perspective. We obtain the optimal maintenance strategy during the maintenance period by minimizing such a cost rate after a warranty expires. Numerical examples using field data are shown to exemplify the application of the methodologies proposed in this paper.

PURPOSES : A composite pavement utilizes both an asphalt surface and a concrete base. Typically, a concrete base layer provides structural capacity, while an asphalt surface layer provides smoothness and riding quality. This pavement type can be used in conjunction with rollercompacted concrete (RCC) pavement as a base layer due to its fast construction, economic efficiency, and structural performance. However, the service life and functionality of composite pavement may be reduced due to interfacial bond failure. Therefore, adequate interfacial bonding between the asphalt surface and the concrete base is essential to achieving monolithic behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the bond characteristics at the interface between asphalt (HMA; hot-mixed asphalt) and the RCC base. METHODS : This study was performed to determine the optimal type and application rate of tack coat material for RCC-base composite pavement. In addition, the core size effect, temperature condition, and bonding failure shape were analyzed to investigate the bonding characteristics at the interface between the RCC base and HMA surface. To evaluate the bond strength, a pull-off test was performed using different diameters of specimens such as 50 mm and 100 mm. Tack coat materials such as RSC-4 and BD-Coat were applied in amounts of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, and $1.1l/m^2$ to determine the optimal application rate. In order to evaluate the bond strength characteristics with temperature changes, a pull-off test was carried out at -15, 0, 20, and $40^{\circ}C$. In addition, the bond failure shapes were analyzed using an image analysis program after the pull-off tests were completed. RESULTS : The test results indicated that the optimal application rate of RSC-4 and BD-Coat were $0.8l/m^2$, $0.9l/m^2$, respectively. The core size effect was determined to be negligible because the bond strengths were similar in specimens with diameters of 50 mm and 100 mm. The bond strengths of RSC-4 and BD-Coat were found to decrease significantly when the temperature increased. As a result of the bonding failure shape in low-temperature conditions such as -15, 0, and $20^{\circ}C$, it was found that most of the debonding occurred at the interface between the tack coat and RCC surface. On the other hand, the interface between the HMA and tack coat was weaker than that between the tack coat and RCC at a high temperature of $40^{\circ}C$. CONCLUSIONS : This study suggested an optimal application rate of tack coat materials to apply to RCC-base composite pavement. The bond strengths at high temperatures were significantly lower than the required bond (tensile) strength of 0.4 MPa. It was known that the temperature was a critical factor affecting the bond strength at the interface of the RCC-base composite pavement.
Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) application study on enhancing the flexibility of AC power system has continued to make progress. A thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) is a useful FACTS device that can control the power flow by adjusting line impedances and minimize the loss of power flow and voltage drop in a transmission system by adjusting line impedances. Reduced power flow loss leads to increased loadability, low system loss, and improved stability of the power system. This study proposes the optimal location and compensation rate method for TCSCs, by considering both the power system loss and voltage drop of transmission systems. The proposed method applies a multi-objective function consisting of a minimizing function for power flow loss and voltage drop. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated using IEEE 14- and a 30-bus system.

Optimal path planning refers to find the safe route to the destination at a low cost, is a major problem with regard to autonomous navigation. Sampling Based Planning(SBP) approaches, such as Rapidly-exploring Random Tree Star($RRT^*$), are the most influential algorithm in path planning due to their relatively small calculations and scalability to high-dimensional problems. $RRT^*$-Smart introduced path optimization and biased sampling techniques into $RRT^*$ to increase convergent rate. This paper presents an improvement plan that has changed the biased sampling method to increase the initial convergent rate of the $RRT^*$-Smart, which is specified as m$RRT^*$-Smart. With comparison among $RRT^*$, $RRT^*$-Smart and m$RRT^*$-Smart in 2 & 3-D environments, m$RRT^*$-Smart showed similar or increased initial convergent rate than $RRT^*$ and $RRT^*$-Smart.
This study was carried out to investigate the optimal application rate and time of mixed expeller cake (MEC) for the replacement of chemical fertilizer. Dongjin-1, as cultivated rice was used at Fluvio-marine deposit in Honam plain paddy field. Soil chemical properties were improved by the application of MEC. Contents of total nitrogen and organic matter were higher in 70%, 100% plots of basal dressing than standard fertilizer application (SFA) plot. Cation exchangeable capacity was highly increased in 70% plot of basal dressing. Also, the content of organic matter in soil was increased with MEC application. Cation exchangeable capacity, total nitrogen and available phosphate were decreased according to late application time. The content of inorganic nitrogen in soil showed high tendency at more application rate of MEC, and nitrogen mineralization at harvest season have finished in 50%, 70% plots of basal dressing. The content of inorganic nitrogen in soil was increased according to late application time, however it was decreased in the late period of growth. Leaf color value became darker with increased application rate of MEC. Leaf color was dark green in MEC application plots at panicle formation stage, on the other hand, it was light green in 50%, 70% plots of basal dressing at heading stage. SPAD reading value of leaf-color was high during the whole growth stage in MEC application plots. More application rate of MEC showed higher tendency of fertilizer nitrogen absorption. Nitrogen use efficiency was the highest in 70% plot of basal dressing. Absorbed amount of fertilized nitrogen was increased in 10~15days before transplanting and nitrogen use efficiency was high according to the late application time. The ratio of perfect kernel and the content of protein on hulled rice showed high tendency at the less application rate of MEC. The ratio of head rice on milled rice showed high tendency at the less application rate of MEC. Rice yield increased 4% in 100% and 70% plots of basal dressing compare with SFA ($5.18Mg\;ha^{-1}$) plot respectively. Ear and culm length of rice were long according to the late application time, while the numbers of spikelet and ear were increased and the percentage of ripened grain was decreased. Rice yield was increased 2~5% in all MEC application plots compared to SFA plot and especially, increased 10~15days before transplanting in application plots. The optimal application rate and time of MEC on normal paddy field in plain were concluded that 70% basal dressing and 10~15days before transplanting
To determine the optimal application level of fertilizers, nitrogen, phosphate, potassium and lime in ramie(Beohmeria nivia Hooker et Arnot), the experiments were conducted for four years from seedling stage propagated by suckers to fully-grown stage under various comibinations of $N, P_2O_5, O$ and lime. Increasing in application rate of N and $K_2$O enhanced stem growth of ramie greatly, and it appeared that lime application also had large effect on increase of stem growth. Yield increased greatly by increasing of application rate with two or three times in N and two times in $K_2$O as much as the standard application rate of fertilizers N-$P_2O_5$-$K_2$O =9-3-9kg/l0a. Especially, treatment with 18kg N, 3kg $P_2O_5, $, 18kg $K_2$O and 200kg lime per l0a showed higher percentage of productive culm and increased yield of crude fiber about 33%. The variation among treatments was relatively small in stem length but larger in fresh weight of shoot and stem. The variation was large at early stage of experiment, that is, from one to two years after planting, but decreased progressively from three years after planting. There was no large difference in number of stems among application rates of fertilizers from three years after planting which was fully-grown stage. However, increasing in application rate of Nand $K_2$O twice as much as the standard rate had large effect on increasing the percentage of productive culm, and hence increased yield greatly.
This study is concerned with a job sequencing method using the concept of sampling technique in the case of Job Shop. This is the follow study of Kang and Ro (1988) which examined the possibility of application of sampling technique to determine the Job Sequence in the case of Flow Shop. Not only it is very difficult, but also it takes too much time to develop the appropriate job schedules that satisfy the complex work conditions. The most job sequencing algorithms have been developed to determine the best or good solution under the special conditions or assumptions. The application areas of these algorithms are also very narrow, so it is very hard to find the appropriate algorithm which satisfy the complex work conditions. In this case it is very desirable to develop a simple job sequencing method which can select the optimal job sequence or near optimal job sequence with a little effort. This study is to examine the effect of sampling job sequencing which can select the good job of 0.01%~5% upper good group. The result shows that there is the sets of 0.05%~23% job sequence group which has the same amount of performance measure with the optimal job sequence in the case of experiment of N/M/G/$F_{max}$. This indicates that the sampling job sequencing method is a useful job sequencing method to find the optimal or good job sequence with consuming a small amount of time. The results of ANOVA show that the only one factor, number of machines is the significant factor for determining the job sequence at ${\alpha}=0.01$. It takes about 10 minutes to compare the number of 10,000 samples of job sequence by personal computer and it is proved that the selection rate of the same job sequence with optimal job sequence is 23.0%, 3.9% and 0.065% in the case of 2 machines, 3 machines and 4 machines, respectively. The area of application can readily be extended to the other work condition.

WiFi Direct (WD) is a state of the art technology for a Device-to-Device (D2D) communication in 802.11 networks. The performance of the WD system can be significantly affected by some key factors such as the type of application, specifications of MAC and PHY layer parameters, and surrounding environment etc. It is, therefore, important to develop a system model that takes these factors into account. In this paper, we focus on investigating the design parameters of the PHY layer that could maximize the efficiency of the WD 802.11 system. For this purpose, a basic theoretical model is formulated for a WD network under a 2x2 Multiple In Multiple Out (MIMO) TGn channel B model. The design level parameters such as input symbol rate and antenna spacing, as well as the effects of the environment, are thoroughly examined in terms of path gain, spectral density, outage probability and Packet Error Rate (PER). Thereafter, a novel adaptive algorithm is proposed to choose optimal parameters in accordance with the Quality of Experience (QoE) for a targeted application. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms the standard method thereby achieving an optimal performance in an adaptive manner.
