Study on Optimization Technique for Design of the Road Tunnel Ventilation System (도로터널 환기시스템 설계 프로그램 개발)

  • In this study, the computer code for the optimal design of road tunnel ventilation system based on one-dimensional analysis of the air flow was developed. The control volume method was used to calculate the air velocities and the concentration distribution of pollutants(CO, NOx, Particulate) for various tunnel ventilation system. This code was validated by comparing the calculation results to the practical design data for the road tunnel ventilation system. The calculation results were in accord with the practical design data.

  • Faster and cheaper transportation of the war supplies to the frontlines is essential for winning a war. This paper proposes a method to select the optimal location of the strategic military base, e.g., the Quartermaster Corps, that minimally connects three frontlines using the optimization technique. The results are also compared to the Steiner Tree theoty.

  • In the last two decades, many researchers proposed various usages of the orthogonal functions such as Walsh, Haar and BPF to solve the system analysis, optimal control, and identification problems from and algebraic form. In this paper, a simple procedure to design and algerbraic observer for the descriptor system is presented by using block pulse function expansions. The main characteristic of this technique is that it converts differential observer equation into an algerbraic equation. And furthermore, a simple recursive algorithm is proposed to obtain BPFs coefficients of the observer equation.

  • 본 논문에서는 높은 승 강압비를 갖는 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터에 대한 최적의 스위칭 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 CCM에서도 소프트 스위칭이 가능하여 스위칭 손실뿐만 아니라 인덕터의 발열도 줄일 수 있다. 또한 모든 소자의 전압 정격과 수동소자의 부피도 기존 양방향 컨버터 보다 작아 고효율 및 고전력밀도의 달성을 기대 할 수 있다. 1.5kW 시작품의 실험을 통해 본 논문의 타당성을 검증하였다.

Network Enlarging Search Technique (NEST) for the Crew Scheduling Problem

  • We consider an algorithm for the Crew Scheduling Problem (CSP) based on the Transportation Problem approach. The main flows of the algorithm are arranged in three steps. First we propose a heuristic algorithm of the greedy principle to obtain an initial feasible solution. Secondary we present a method of formulating CSP into a Modified Transportation Problem format. Lastly the procedures of network search to get the optimal solution are presented. This algorithm can be applied to the general GSP and also to most combinatorial problems like the Vehicle Routing Problems. The computational results show that the large size CSP's could be tackled.

  • 생산스케쥴링의 기준이 되는 정보는 각 부품의 생산시간이나 생산비용인데, 이들은 고정된 값으로 취급되는 경우가 많다. 그러나, 실제적으로는 가공조건에 의하여 그 값들이 변화한다. 가공조거는 절삭깊이(depth of cut), 이송속도(feed rate), 및 절삭속도(cutting speed)로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 주어진 조건에 있어서 가공의 최적절삭조건을 최적이론의 하나인 페널티 함수이론(SUMT)을 이용하여 결정하는 할고리즘을 개발하였다. 알고리즘에서 목표함수(objective functions)로는 표면거칠기, 파워 소비, 등을 고려했다. 개발된 알고리즘 프로그램의 유용성을 증명하기 위해 선반가공의 예를 실행하여 그 결과를 예시하였다.

  • This paper describes the flow path design of unidirectional automated guided vehicle systems. The objective is to find the flow path which will minimize total travel time of unloaded as well as loaded vehicles. The allocation of unloaded vehicles is determined by applying the transportation simplex method. The problem is solved using a branch-and-bound technique. A simple illustrative example is discussed to demonstrate the procedure.

  • In this article, we propose and analyze a new nonconforming primal mixed finite element method for the stationary Stokes equations. The approximation is based on the pseudostress-velocity formulation. The incompressibility condition is used to eliminate the pressure variable in terms of trace-free pseudostress. The pressure is then computed from a simple post-processing technique. Unique solvability and optimal convergence are proved. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the method.

  • This paper suggests a model for the economic evaluation and the selection of alternatives using teletraffic. Economic evaluation is analyzed by the comparison of revenue loss which happens without trunk extension and additional revenue which results from trunk extension. Simulation technique is used as a methodology to apply economic evaluation to telephone system. The study results will provide a support in a optimal decision about investment strategies.

  • Under an open transmission access, the generation dispatch is determined by the bidding process of market participants. Congestion occurs when the dispatch would result in the violation of operational constraints. Congestion problem is formulated and solved by OPF(optimal power flow) calculation. The objective functions in OPF are given as quadratic cost functions or piecewise linear functions of bidding functions. In this study, the optimization technique of generation dispatch is presented for the combination of two types of quadratic and linear cost functions.
