  • Dynamic modelling and controller design technique for constant-frequency series resonant converter with buck type preregulator are mainly described in this paper. An equivalent circuit model is derived and a state equation is developed from this model. To improve the dynamic performance, a negative feedback of inductor current is added to the proportional and integral control of output voltage. Furthermore, an optimization technique with prescribed eigenvalue region is applied to the determination of feedback gains. With the presented design method, much better dynamic performance can be obtained.

  • A fundamental study for the production of an internal combustion engine piston by forging is performed through UBET(Upper Bound Elemental Technique) analysis and experiments. In UBET analysis, an optimal preform of the aluminum piston is predicted and the results are compared with the experimental results. The internal flow pattern and and the forging loads according to the different friction condition are investigated.

  • A space diversity technique was applied to the conventional optimal beamforming structure using antenna arrays at the base station receiver in the wireless mobile communication system to get performance enhancement due to interference rejection and fading resistance ability of it. To demonstrate the benefit of proposed system, we derived output signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of combined signal from all sub-array groups considering the fading effects and compared with the beamforming-only system. From the analysis and simulation results, we showed that the proposed system can provide high performance gain under Rayleigh fading channel.

  • Dynamic resistance equalization is a viable technique to balance SOC of cells in a parallel-connected battery configuration due to high equalization performance, simplicity and low-cost. However, an inappropriate design of the equalization resistor can degrade the equalization performance and increase the power loss. This paper proposes an optimization process to design the equalization resistors to minimize power loss and equalization error. The simulation results show that the optimally designed resistor significantly enhance the performance in comparison with the conventional fixed-resistor equalization.

  • We argue that the combination of optimal control synthesis and QFT tuning enables design of controllers with levels of performance that surpasses what can be achieved using only a single technique. Using a constructive example, we demonstrate how the strength of each technique is utilized to arrive at a particularly desired controller in terms of tradeoffs between performance and controller complexity.

  • The selection technique for optimal operation position selection technique is used to present the initial bow and stern draft with minimum resistance, for achievingthat is, the optimal fuel consumption efficiency at a given operating displacement and speed. The main purpose of this studypaper is to develop a program to select the optimal operating position with maximum energy efficiency under given operating conditions based on the effective power data of the target ship. This program was written as a Python-based GUI (Graphic User Interface) usingbased on artificial intelligence techniques sucho that ship owners could easily use the GUIit. In the process, tThe introduction of the target ship, the collection of effective power data through computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the learning method of the effective power model using deep learning, and the program for presenting the optimal operation position using the deep neural network (DNN) model were specifically explained. Ships are loaded and unloaded for each operation, which changes the cargo load and changes the displacement. The shipowners wants to know the optimal operating position with minimum resistance, that is, maximum energy efficiency, according to the given speed of each displacement. The developed GUI can be installed on the ship's tablet PC and application and used to determineselect the optimal operating position.

  • The Optimal filter yielding optimal texture feature separation is a most effective technique for extracting the texture objects from multiple textures images. But, most optimal filter design approaches are restricted to the issue of supervised problems. No full-unsupervised method is based on the recognition of texture objects in image. We propose a novel approach that uses unsupervised learning schemes for efficient texture image analysis, and the band-pass feature of Gabor-filter is used for the optimal filter design. In our approach, the self-organizing neural network for multiple texture image identification is based on block-based clustering. The optimal frequency of Gabor-filter is turned to the optimal frequency of the distinct texture in frequency domain by analyzing the spatial frequency. In order to show the performance of the designed filters, after we have attempted to build a various texture images. The texture objects extraction is achieved by using the designed Gabor-filter. Our experimental results show that the performance of the system is very successful.

  • The objective of this paper is to propose the methodology for automated generation of the optimal security defense strategies using evolutionary techniques. As damages by penetration exploiting vulnerability in computer systems and networks are increasing, security techniques have been researched actively. However it is difficult to generate optimal defense strategies because it needs to consider various situations on network environment according to countermeasures. Thus we have adopted a genetic algorithm in order to generate an optimal defense strategy as combination of countermeasures. We have represented gene information with countermeasures. And by using simulation technique, we have evaluated fitness through evaluating the vulnerability of system having applied various countermeasures. Finally, we have examined the feasibility by experiments on the system implemented by proposed method.

  • The objective of this study is to develop efficient numerical method to enable solution of optimal control problems of Navier-Stokes flows and to apply these technique to the problem of viscous drag minimization on a bluff body by controlling boundary velocities on the surface of the body. In addition to the industrial importance of the drag reduction problem, it serves as a model for other more complex flow optimization settings, and allows us to study, modify, and improve the behavior of the optimal control methods proposed here. The control is affected by the suction or injection of fluid on portions of the boundary, and the objective function represents the rate at which energy is dissipated in the fluid. This study shows how reduced Hessian successive quadratic programming method, which avoid converging the flow equations at each iteration, can be tailored to these problems.
