  • Active queue management (AQM) is a leading congestion control system, which can keep smaller queuing delay, less packet loss with better network utilization and throughput by intentionally dropping the packets at the intermediate hubs in TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) networks. To accelerate the responsiveness of AQM framework, proportional-integral-differential (PID) controllers are utilized. In spite of its simplicity, it can effectively take care of a range of complex problems; however it is a lot complicated to track down optimal PID parameters with conventional procedures. A few new strategies have been grown as of late to adjust the PID controller parameters. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed a Squirrel search based PID controller to dynamically find its controller gain parameters for AQM. The controller gain parameters are decided based on minimizing the integrated-absolute error (IAE) in order to ensure less packet loss, high link utilization and a stable queue length in favor of TCP networks.

  • In this paper, we develop anti-sway control in proposed techniques for an ATC system. The developed algorithm is to build the optimal path of container motion and to calculate an anti-collision path for collision avoidance in its movement to the finial coordinate. Moreover, in order to show the effectiveness in this research, we compared NNP PID controller to be tuning parameters of controller using NN with 2 DOF PID controller. The experimental results for an ATC simulator show that the proposed control scheme guarantees performances, trolley position, sway angle, and settling time in NNP PID controller than other controller. As a result, the application of NNP PID controller is analyzed to have robustness about disturbance which is wind of fixed pattern in the yard. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm in this study can be readily used for industrial applications

  • PID제어는 수십년간 잘 사용이 되어 왔다. PID알고리즘은 적당한 튜닝법을 사용하여 파라미터를 구하여 제어시스템을 설계한다. 그러나 어떤 경우에는 다양한 평가지표가 필요하고, 따라서 이들 다양한 평가지표를 사용하여 설계할 제어시스템이 필요로 하는 조건들을 만족되게 해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 오차, 제어입력의 에너지 및 제어입력의 변화율 등의 시간영역지표들은 물론이고 견실성을 확보하기 위해서 견실성 지표 예들 들면 가중치를 부과한 상보감도함수의 무한대놈을 포함한 선형조합형태의 평가지표를 사용하여 2 자유도 PID제어기를 설계한다. 수치해석을 통하여 최적의 2 자유도 PID파라미터들을 구한다. 이들 I-PD형 등의 2자유도 형은 PID를 변형한 형태로서 단일의 PID제어기들에 비해 더 개선된 출력특성을 얻을 수 있음을 보인다. 시뮬레이션은 MATLAB m 및 mdl파일을 통하여 실행한다.

  • By increasing trades between countries, importance of harbors is becoming serious, including our country. When it comes to Container Crane Operation, the most important matter is how many containers are loaded in a truck or a ship by given time. This can be a crucial matter of harbors in taking care of materials. The present harbors' crane uses a wire-rope conveyance materials are transported in the air and have high free-angle of location. The sway can cause the delay of time, wrong position of Trolley and the damage of materials. In this study, we obtain the optimal PID parameters with GA(Genetic Algorithm) and apply those parameters to the PID Controller. In the result of the experimentation, we can see how effectively the PID controller, applied with the optimal parameters obtained by GA, can control the sway angle.

드럼보일러의 제어성 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Control System Performance of Drum Boiler)

  • The control system of a drum boiler is very complex since the evaporization process in the boiler is a multivariable system which is affected one another. This study is concerned with the dynamic characteristics of the boiler process and improving methods of performance of a drum boiler control system. The PID control with feedforward of disturbances and the optimal regulator are compared, and the effects of control parameters on the performance of a boiler control system are investigated. From simulation, it is found that profer adjustment of control parameters significant improvement of response and that performance of a optimal regulated control system is better than that of a conventional PID control system.

  • As constantly increasing wind power penetrates power grid, wind power plants (WPPs) are exerting a direct influence on the traditional power system. Most of WPPs are using variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) wind turbines equipped with doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) due to their high efficiency over other wind turbine generators (WTGs). Therefore, the analysis of DFIG has attracted considerable attention. Precisely measuring optimum reference speed is basis of utilized maximum wind power in electric power generation. If the measurement of wind speed can be easily taken, the reference of rotation speed can be easily calculated by known system's parameters. However, considering the varying wind speed at different locations of blade, the turbulence and tower shadow also increase the difficulty of its measurement. The aim of this study is to design fuzzy controllers to replace the wind speedometer to track the optimum generator speed based on the errors of generator output power and rotation speed in varying wind speed. Besides, this paper proposes the fuzzy adaptive PID control to replace traditional PID control under rated wind speed in variable-pitch wind turbine, which can detect and analyze important aspects, such as unforeseeable conditions, parameters delay and interference in the control process, and conducts online optimal adjustment of PID parameters to fulfill the requirement of variable pitch control system.

  • In this paper, we propose the LQ servo control method for the automatic train control of urban rail vehicle. Structures of the conventional PID control and LQ servo controller are compared in order to demonstrate the simplicity of the proposed controller which doesn't have zeros of the closed loop systems. The energy consumption is dealt with as an object function to be minimized, which consists of the quadratic performance indices for optimal control with the input of the feedback linearization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by the practical example, compared with the conventional PD controller.

RCGA를 이용한 PID 제어기의 모델기반 동조규칙 (Model-based Tuning Rules of the PID Controller Using Real-coded Genetic Algorithms)

  • Model-based tuning rules of the PID controller are proposed incorporating with real-coded genetic algorithms. The optimal parameter sets of the PID controller for step set-point tracking are obtained based on the first-order time delay model and a real-coded genetic algorithm as an optimization tool. As for assessing the performance of the controllers, performance indices(ISE, IAE and ITAE) are adopted. Then tuning rules are derived using the tuned parameter sets, potential rule models and another real-coded genetic algorithm A set of simulation works is carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed rules.
