용액성장법에 의한 ZnS 나노 박막의 제작과 광학적 특성 (Chemical Bath Deposition and the Optical Properties of Nanostructured ZnS Thin Films)

  • Nanostructured ZnS thin films were grown on the slide glass substrate by the chemical bath deposition using an aqueous so1ution Of ZnSO$_4$and CH$_3$CSNH$_2$at 95$^{\circ}C$. The average grain sizes of the ZnS thin film estimating from the Debye-Scherrer formula are 4.8 nm. The optical transmittance edge of the ZnS thin films (4.0 eV) was shifted to the shelter wavelength compared with that of the bulk ZnS (3.67 eV) due to the quantum size effects. The ZnS thin films showed a strong photoluminescence intensity and a sharp emission band from 410 to 480 nm 3t room temperature. The PWHM of photoluminescence peak was about 40 nm. For the viloet(410 nm) and blue(480 nm) emission of the ZnS thin films, the temperature dependence can be described by an Arrhenius equation with an activation energy of 168 and 157 meV, respectively.

Determination of Optical Constants of Thin Films in Extreme Ultraviolet Wavelength Region by an Indirect Optical Method

  • In this study, we propose a simple and indirect method to determine the optical constants of Mo and ITO thin films in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) wavelength region by using X-ray reflectometry (XRR) and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS). Mo and ITO films were deposited on silicon substrates by using an RF magnetron sputtering method. The density and the composition of the deposited films were evaluated from the XRR and RBS analysis, respectively and then the optical constants of the Mo and ITO films were determined by an indirect optical method. The results suggest that the indirect method by using the XRR and RBS analysis will be useful to search for suitable high absorbing EUVL mask material quickly.

코팅 조건에 따른 BST 박막의 표면 이미지 특성 (The Surface Image Properties of BST Thin Film by Depositing Conditions)

  • The optical memory devices of BST thin films to composite $(Ba_{0.7}\;Sr_{0.3})TiO_{3}$ using sol-gel method were fabricated by changing of the depositing layer number on $Pt/Ti/SiO_{2}/Si$ substrate. The structural properties of optical memory devices to be ferroelectric was investigated by fractal analysis and 3-dimension image processing. The thickness of BST thin films at each coating numbers 3, 4 and 5 times was $2500[\AA]$, $3500[\AA]$ and $3800[\AA]$. BST thin films exhibited the most pronounced grain growth. The surface morphology image was roughness with coating numbers. The thin films increasing with coating numbers shows a more textured and complex configuration.

  • A new technique to grow a manganese-doped zinc-sulfide(ZnS:Mn) has been proposed using the repeated deposition of the Hot Wall method. The optical characteristics and crystallinity for the ZnS and ZnS:Mn thin films deposited on a quartz glass substrate by the method were investigated. Also, The ZnS:Mn thin film elcetroluminescent devices were fabricated by the method to study luminescence characteristics. All films showed (111)-oriented cubic structure. By the repeated deposition, the deposition rates were decreased, and the optical characteristics and crystalline properties were improved, which clarifies that the method is effective to deposit the thin films with good crystallinity Futhermore, the crystallinity was more improved by the doping of Mn. Only one peak emission at around 585nm originating from Mn luminescent center is observed In the photoluminescent and electroluminescent spectra of ZnS:Mn films and the luminance of the ZnS:Mn-based thin film electroluminescent devices was obtained below 60cd/$m^2$ . The optical and crystalline properties, luminescence characteristics are discussed in terms of the effects of the repeated deposition and Mn-doping.

  • In this study, PLZT stock solutions were prepared by Sol-Gel processing after the compositions were selected in the memory region of PLZT bulk phase diagram. PLZT solutions were deposited on the ITO glass substrate by spin-coating method. The thin films were annealed by rapid thermal processing. The electric characteristics, hysteresis loop, C-V characteristics of thin films in the memory region were measured in order to investigate the electrical characteristics of PLZT thin films. In selected compositions the decrease in Zr/Ti ratio led to an increase in dielectric constant and the decrease in remanent polarization and coercieve field which brought about slim hysteresis loop.

  • This paper describes the deposition and characteristics of electrochromic tungsten oxide thin films for electrochromic smart windows. Tungsten Oxide thin films(WO$_3$) are deposited by thermal evaporation techniques. By varying deposition parameters, WO$_3$ thin films exhibit different optical properties. The electrochromic devices are consist of ITO glass/ WO$_3$ thin films/ LiClO$_4$-propylene carbonate electrolyte/ counter electrode. The electrochromic properties of tungsten oxide thin films with different deposition condition ale investigated.

  • Aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films were deposited on coming glass substrates using an Nd:YAG pulsed laser deposition technology. The AZO thin films were deposited with various growth conditions such as the substrate temperature and oxygen partial pressure. In this work, we used various measurement technologies in order to investigate the electrical, structural, and optical properties of the AZO thin films. Among the AZO thin films, the one prepared at the substrate temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial pressure of 5 mTorr showed the best properties of an electrical resistivity of $4.63{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, a carrier concentration of $9.25{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$, and a carrier mobility of $31.33cm^2/V{\cdot}s$. All the AZO thin films showed an high average optical transmittance over 90 % in visible region.

투명 전극 ITO/Ag/ITO 박막의 광학적 및 전기적 특성 향상 연구 (Improvement of Optical and Electrical Properties of ITO/Ag/ITO Thin Films for Transparent Conducting Electrode)

  • Herein we studied the electrical and optical properties of indium tin oxide ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer thin films for application in transparent conducting electrodes. The ITO and Ag thin films were deposited onto soda lime glass (SLG) using radiofrequency and DC-sputtering methods, respectively. The as-synthesized ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer thin films were analyzed using 4-point probe, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and Hall measurement. We observed a rapid increase in electron concentration with increasing Ag thickness. However, electron mobility decreased with increasing Ag thickness. Finally, ITO/Ag/ITO multilayer thin films showed a characteristic low sheet resistance of $18{\Omega}/sq$ and high optical transmittance value (80%) with variation of Ag thickness (5~10 nm).

  • We described the growth of undoped ZnO thin films and their optical properties changing with a various growth temperature. The un doped ZnO thin films were grown on c-$Al_2O_3$ substrates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) at room temperature, 200, 400, and $600^{\circ}C$, respectively. Field emission microscopy (FE-SEM) measurements showed that the grain size of undoped ZnO thin films are increasing as a increase of growth temperature. In addition, we were investigated that the structural and optical properties of undoped ZnO thin films by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) studied. Also, we could confirmed that the exciton luminescence was strongly related to charge trap by grain boundary of the samples using micro-PL measurement.

  • Fluorine-doped $SnO_2$ thin films were deposited on soda-lime glass substrates by reactive DC magnetron sputtering method. Crystallinity as well as electrical and optical properties of $SnO_2$ : F thin film were investigated as the variations of deposition conditions such as substrate temperature, DC Power, $O_2$ gas pressure, $SF_6$ gas pressure. $SnO_2$ : F thin film deposited with 5% $SF_6$ gas pressure showed electrical resistivities of $2.5\times10^{-3}$cm with the average optical transparency (about 80%) These electrical and optical properties were found to be related to the crystallinity of $SnO_2$ : F thin films.
