A newly designed haptic interface enables an operator to control a remote robot precisely. It transmits position information to the remote robot and feeds back the interaction force from it. A control algorithm of haptic interface has been studied to improve the robustness and stability to uncertain dynamic environments with a proposed contact dynamic model that incorporates human hand dynamics. A simplified hybrid parallel robot dynamic model fur a 6 DOF haptic device was proposed to from a real time control system, which does not include nonlinear components. LQC/LTR scheme was adopted in this paper for the compensation of un-modeled dynamics. The recovery of the farce from the remote robot at the haptic interface was demonstrated through the experiments.
In the virtual environment, force feedback to the human operator makes virtual experiences more realistic. However, the force feedback using active actuators such as motors can make the system active and sometimes unstable. To ensure the safe operation and enhance the haptic feeling, stability should be guaranteed. Both motors and brakes are commonly used for haptic device. A brake can generate a torque only against its rotation, but it is intrinsically stable. Consequently, motors and brakes are complementing each other. In this research, a two degree-of-freedom (DOF) haptic device equipped with both motors and brakes has been developed to provide better haptic effects. Each DOF is actuated by a pair of motor and brake. Modeling of the environment and the control method are needed to utilize both actuators. For various haptic effects, contact with the virtual wall and representation of friction effect are extensively investigated in this paper. It is shown that the hybrid haptic system is more suited to some applications than the motor-based active haptic system.
This paper explains problems of force-reflecting teleoperation grinding work and proposes some methods to solve those. For stable contact between robot tool(grindstone) and contact surface the mechanical impedance force control is used. The sliding phenomenon of grindstone has been appeared at the contact surface during the grinding work. The sliding problems caused by friction and rotation of grindstone are eliminated by using tangential direction sliding compensation control. The rotation force of grindstone makes the tool move to tangential direction along the surface suddenly even though an operator pushes the tool only in normal direction to the surface. Normal direction force control is applied for grinder not to roll and fracture on the grinding surface. Vibration problem of grindstone is decreased by second order low-pass filter. Therefore we can precise grinding work at the grinding surface and feel the reality
Geometric manipulation of molecules is an essential elementary component in computational modeling programs for molecular structure, stability, dynamics, and design. The computational complexity of transformation of internal coordinates to Cartesian coordinates was discussed before.1 The use of rotation matrices was found to be slightly more efficient than that of quaternion although quaternion operators have been widely advertised for rotational operations, especially in molecular dynamics simulations of liquids where the orientation is a dynamical variable.2 The discussion on computational efficiency is extended here to a more general case in which bond angles and sidechain torsion angles are allowed to vary. The algorithm of Thompson3 is derived again in terms of quaternions as well as rotation matrices, and an algorithm with optimal efficiency is described. The algorithm based on rotation matrices is again found to be slightly more efficient than that based on quaternions.

The electric power industry throughout the world is undergoing considerable changes from the vertically integrated utility structure to the deregulated market. However, the deregulated electricity market is operated with respect to theory of economical efficiency, and therefore, the system operator requires data with fast contingency ranking for security of the bulk power system. This paper compares the weather dependant probabilistic risk index(PRI) with the system performance index for power flow in the IEEE-RTS. The system performance index for power flow presents the power system stability. This paper presents fast calculation method for determining contingency ranking using the weather dependant probabilistic risk index(PRI). The probabilistic risk index can be classified into the case of normal and adverse weather. This paper proposes calculation method using the probabilistic risk index in determining contingency ranking required for security under the deregulated electricity market.
This paper proposes an algorithm for determining critical generator lists using accelerating power and synchronizing power coefficient (SPC), and critical generator group (CGG) from CGG candidates, which is a combination of critical generators. The accurate determination of CGG provides a more accurate energy margin while providing system operator with information of possible unstable generator group. Classical transient energy function (TEF) method selects the critical generators with big corrected kinetic energy of each generator at the moment of fault removal. However, the generator with small acceleration after fault, that is, the generator with small corrected kinetic energy, is also likely to belong to CGG if the generator has small synchronizing power. The proposed algorithm has been verified to be effective compared with the classical TEF method. We utilized the power system of Korean Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) as a test system.

The realization by many industrial countries that manufacturing is a critical ingredient for attaining economic strength and stability has led to the development of automated systems which were proviously considered as gimmicks. The adaptive skill of the human operator is now being simulated and reproduced by computer that have become more powerful and less expensive. The work presented in this paper forms an investigation of the effects of dynamic viscosity and load of hydraulic oil an pressures with three different circuit(meter-in, meter-out and bleed off). The experimental results showed that pressures increase with an increase in dynamic viscosity and load in bleed off circuit, but there is no variation of pressure in meter-In meter-out circuit.
In the present paper, we extend the main results of Jeribi in [6] to weighted and pseudo-weighted spectra of operators in a nonseparable Hilbert space ${\mathcal{H}}$. We investigate the characterization, the stability and some properties of these weighted and pseudo-weighted spectra.

In this paper, a generalized adaptive law is proposed which uses a rational function type operator for parameter adjustment. To satisfy the passivity condition of the adaptation block, we introduce a constant feedback gain into the adaptation block. This adaptation scheme is applied to the model reference adaptive control of a continuous-time, linear time-invariant, minimum-phase system whose relative degree is 1. We prove the asymptotic stability of the output error of this adaptive system by hyperstability method. It is shown that by digital computer simulations this law can give a better output error transient response in some cases than the conventional gradient adaptive law. And the output error responses for the several types of the proposed adaptation law are examined in the presence of a kind of unmodeled dynamics.
Let K be a nonempty closed bounded convex subset of an arbitrary smooth Banach space X and T : KlongrightarrowK be a strictly hemi-contractive operator. Under some conditions we obtain that the Mann iteration method with errors both converges strongly to a unique fixed point of T and is almost T-stable on K. The results presented in this paper generalize the corresponding results in [l]-[7], [20] and others.
