리타더 장착 버스 하이포이드 기어의 스코링에 관한 연구 (Study on Scoring of Hypoid Gear Set in Bus with Retarder)

  • A retarder, as a supplementary brake system that is not friction-based, is frequently used in heavy-duty vehicles generally to slow the vehicles down on inclines. The electric retarder mainly used in a heavy-duty bus is generally placed between the transmission and the axle. The rotor inside the retarder system is attached to the axle. The operation of the retarder within a driven vehicle generates reverse torque due to coast driving force on hypoid gears in the differential gear system. By the reverse torque, scoring or scuffing on the hypoid gear teeth may directly occur. The scoring may be generated due to excessive contact stresses on the tooth surface. In this study, tooth contact stresses and contact patterns were analysed in order to investigate on the tooth scoring phenomenon using a finite element analysis program T900 in which the Hertzian contact stress formula was taken. Backlash, wear and surface finish were considered in the finite element simulation on the scoring.

  • The wind most of the century, the average wind speed in the coast area 6m/s~8m/s operation as a large wind power generators is not enough to produce. But the generator of proposed wind turbine system is connected to Hydraulic torque converter is the actual development of this usage, the low investment and economic effects appear to be much lower there is. In case of the proposed wind turbine system, is possible to make torque transmission long distance, set up generator somewhere in between the tower or the ground as well as, nacelle weight can be greatly down.

  • Recently, Korea shipping companies have been internally/externally difficult to manage their fleet due to the high price of bunker, wage and low cost of charterage and freight. To solve these problems, some shipping companies have tried to set up a new business regarding offshore plant supply vessel(OSV). Owing to the absence of big oil field near the Korea coast, OSV market has not been gradually progressing as far. This study intends to review the legal review of both international and municipal law for the OSV. Therefore I have provided basic legal information to the domestic shipping companies which have desired to enter the OSV's market and suggest legal revision harmoniously to identify the problem in the municipal law.

A Robust Control Approach for Maneuvering a Flexible Spacecraft

  • In the paper, a robust control mechanism is presented to maneuver a flexible spacecraft with the deflection reduction during large slewing operation at the same time. For deflection reduction and maneuvering of the flexible spacecraft, a control mechanism is developed with the application of stochastic optimal sliding-mode control, a linear tracking model and input shaping technique. A start-coast-stop maneuver is employed as a slewing strategy. It is shown that the control mechanism with he strategic maneuver results in better performance and is more efficient than rigid-body-like maneuver, by applying to the Spacecraft Control Laboratory Experiment (SCOLE) system in a space environment.

상하이 양산항과 신항(Busan New Port)의 경쟁력 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis on the Competitiveness between Busan New Port and Shanghai's New Yangshan Port)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness between Busan New Port and Shanghai's New Yangshan Port, on an island 20 miles off the Chinese mainland coast. For this aim, the paper examines backgrounds of Yangshan Port construction and its related projects, namely, Donghai Bridge and Luchao Logistics Park including operation strategies of Yangshan New Deepwater Port. The main results of this paper are as follows: Busan New Port has competitive advantage over Yangshan Port in terms of ideal location, especially in Asia-North America route, and connection between terminal and hinterland logistics park. Because Busan New Port is operated by fully on-dock system. Nevertheless, Yangshan Port has more strength in its centrality, port tariff and port productivity, which are represented by crane productivity, quay productivity and area productivity. Therefore, Korean ports are recommended by transformation from cargo attraction-type to cargo generation-type port through early activation of port logistics center along with Free Economic Zone.

  • The purpose of this paper os to present and discuss some of flow and drain observed in modelling results. Because dredged fill ground of Yul-Chon located in the south coast of Korea is very soft, this ground should be improved after operation of surface stabilization. There are surface stabilization method such as chemical stabilization, desiccation, horizontally vacuum drain, replacement, and geosynthetics. In Yul-Chon, PTM(Progressive Trenching Method) is adopted to provide the necessity condition of surface desiccation. In the case trench in the dredged soft ground is formed by PTM equipment, pore water in the ground is drained through trench. There, drain and desiccation of surface ground increase, and bearing capacity is improved. In this research, when trench in the dredged soft ground is formed by PTM equipment, permeable characteristics and drain efficiency of pore-water are analyzed using SEEP/W software package. Results show variation of total head, pressure head, flux, hydraulic gradient, and flow quantity.

해양사고의 효율적 대응을 위한 수색구조조정 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Search and Rescue Coordination for Effective Response to Marine Casualties)

  • 해상수색구조 책임기관인 해양경비안전본부는 해양사고에 대하여 적절히 대응한 것으로 평가되어 왔으나, 최근 발생한 세월호사고 발생 직후 초기단계의 신속 효율적인 대응에 실패함으로 인해 비판을 받게되었다. 이와 관련하여 저자는 향후 발생할 수 있는 해양사고시 인명손실을 최소화하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 우리나라 해역에서 발생하는 해양사고의 특징을 분석하고, 수색구조조정과 인적자원을 중심으로 국가수색구조체계를 검토 분석하였다. 그 결과, 해양경비안전본부는 특히 연안역 해양사고에 신속하게 대응하기 위하여 고속구명정 및 구조헬기를 확충하여야 한다. 그리고 현행 조정체계의 운용상 문제점을 개선하기 위해 IMO 지침에 맞춰 구조조정본부설치를 재조정하여야 하며, 수색구조요원의 전문성 제고를 위한 의무적 교육 및 자격 제도의 도입이 필요하다.

MTSAT Image Navigation 알고리즘을 이용한 FY-2C S-VISSR2.0 Navigation (FY-2C S-VISSR2.0 Navigation by MTSAT Image Navigation)

  • FY-2C 위성은 2004년 10월 발사되어 동경 105도 에 서 운영 중인 중국의 정지 궤도 기상위성 이며 관측 영상은 한반도 지역을 포함하고 있다. 현재 FY-2C S-VISSR2.0[l]에 대한 Navigation 알고리즘이 공개되어 있지 않으며,Navigation을 위하여 S-VISSR2.0에 포함되어 있는 Simplified Mapping Block 정보를 사용하여야 한다. Simplified Mapping Block은 5도 간격의 정보만을 제 공하므로 관측 지 역 의 모든 좌표에 대한 Navigation 정보를 얻기 위해서는 보간볍을 사용하여야 한다. 그러나 보간법은 기준 점에서 멀어질수록 오차가 크게 나타날 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 모든 좌표에 대한 Navigation 정보를 얻을 수 있는 MTSAT Image Navigation 알고리즘을 FY-2C S-VISSR2.0에 적용하여 Simplified Mapping Block과의 차이를 분석하였다. 분석 방법은 Simplified Mapping Block과 MTSAT Image Navigation[2] 알고리즘을 5도 간격의 격자 점(위경도)에서 Column 및 Line 값 비교, Geo-location된 영상의 품질 비교,WDB2 Map Data의 Coast Line과의 비교를 수행하였다. 분석 결과 격자 점에서의 Column, Line 값은 0.5 이내의 차이 값을 나타내었다. 그리고 Geo-location된 영상 비교에서는 격자 점 주변에서 영상의 차이가 없으나 격자 점에서 멸어질수록 영상의 품질은 MTSAT Image Navigation 알고리즘으로 생성한 영상이 더 우수하였다. WDB2 Map Data의 Coast Line과의 비교에서 오차는 동일하게 발생하였으며,영상의 Column 축에 대한 오차는 평균 1.847 Pixel, 최대 6 Pixel, 최소 oPixel 이며, Line 축에 대한 오차는 평균 0.135 Pixel, 최대 4 Pixel, 최소 0 Pixel을 나타내었다.

Population Structure of Surface Swarms of the Euphausiid Euphausia pacifica Caught by Drum Screens of Uljin Nuclear Power Plant in the East Coast of Korea

  • In February and April 1997, three temporary interruptions of electric power production at the Uljin Nuclear Power Plant in the east coast of Korea were caused by the malfunction of the cool-ing-water supply unit. The clogging of the drum screens inside the unit caused by the surface swarm of the euphausiid Euphausia pacifica Hansen might be responsible for the malfunction. These incidents were of particular interest since such interruption of reactors' operation by krill swarms had not previously been reported. Using samples caught by the drum screens inside the cooling water-supply unit, we investigated the population structure of surface swarms. One occasion of nighttime and three occasions of daytime surface swarms were found in February and April 1997, respectively. The foreguts of more than 60% of E. pacifica in nighttime surface swarm were in full condition. This evidence suggests that E. pacifica aggregates to the surface water at night for feeding. In daytime surface swarms consisting of mature E. pacifica, however, foreguts in full condition were only found in less than 10eio of krill examined, suggesting that daytime surface swarms are closely related to breeding activity. During the study period, the growth rate of mature females was more than twice higher than that of mature males. Analyses of the sex-ratio and length-frequency data show a decrease in the portion of males with increasing size. There was a decline in the number of males of 19 mm in length. Energy loss during spermatophore transfer may result in the death of male E. pacifica, as found in male E. superba.

GIS를 이용한 지진해일시 연안의 침수 흔적 및 예상 지역 분석 (Analysis of the Tsunami Inundation Trace and it's Expectation Area in Coast Using GIS)

  • 해일, 해수범람 등 연안재해로 인한 피해가 발생할 수 있는 취약 지역을 사전에 예방하고 최소한으로 손실을 경감할 수 있도록 효율적인 관리가 지속적으로 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 과거 지진해 일시 침수된 흔적과 예상되는 피해 지역을 분석하고자 한다. 동해안 연안인 망상과 노봉 지역을 대상으로 수치표 고모형을 완성한 후 과거 지진해일로 인한 침수 기록을 표시하고 향후 3m, 5m의 지진해일 내습시 침수되는 지역들을 예측하였다. 침수 흔적과 3m 및 5m의 침수예상 지역들을 지적도와 각각 중첩시켜 침수 예상에 따른 범위 및 지번을 산출하였고, 대상 지역은 5m 해일의 내습시 3m 해일보다 침수 범위가 2.8배 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 분석된 자료는 해일시 대피 작업 활동과 피해 보상 예측에 활용 가능하며, 자연재해 피해의 사전예방을 위해 적합한 방재대책으로 사용할 수 있을 것이다.
