  • As chip multiprocessors have been widely adopted in embedded systems, achieving both high performance and low power consumptions of parallel applications becomes challenging. In order to meet these requirements, it is crucial for developers to analyze the performance and energy consumption of parallel applications. In this paper, we propose a tool for profiling and optimizing the performance and energy consumption of OpenMP applications (energy PROfiler and analyzer for OpenMP: ePRO-OMP). The main advantage of ePRO-OMP is that it can analyze both the performance and energy consumption of each parallel region of an OpenMP application, which can help developers find the bottleneck of parallel applications in detail.

  • OpenMP is an attractive parallel programming model for a chip multiprocessor because there is no standard parallel programming method for a chip multiprocessor and it is easy to write a parallel program in OpenMP. Then, chip multiprocessor systems can have various architectures according to target application programs. So, we need to implement OpenMP in different way for each system. In this paper, we propose the implementation and the effective translation of major OpenMP directives for a chip multiprocessor without using OS to improve the performance without using special hardware and without extending the OpenMP directives. We present the experimental results on our target platform CT3400.

  • With the vision of Internet of Things (IoT), physical world itself is becoming a connected information system on the Internet and cyber world is computing as a physical act to sense and respond to real-world events collaboratively. The systems that tightly interlink the cyber and physical worlds are often referred to as Smart Systems or Cyber-Physical Systems. Smart IoT Clouds aim to provide a cyber-physical infrastructure for utility (pay-as-you-go) computing to easily and rapidly build, modify and provision auto-scale smart systems that continuously monitor and collect data about real-world events and automatically control their environment. Developing specifications for service interoperability is critical to enable to achieve this vision. In this paper, we bring an issue to extend Open Cloud Computing Interface for uniform, interoperable interfaces for Smart IoT Cloud Services to access services and build a smart system through orchestrating the cloud services.

  • This paper presents a load management method based on OpenADR of smart grid. Previous demand side algorithm is restricted on reducing peak power. But, in this paper we suggest a method of performing the energy-saving control according to the power price utilizing building automatic control system installed on the customer side in the case of hourly differential pricing signal is transmitted to the open automated demand response system. And, we showed the integrated demand management software for 3 buildings.

  • Automatic modulation classification is a critical algorithm for non-cooperative communication systems. This paper addresses the challenging problem of closed-set and open-set signal modulation classification in complex channels. We propose a novel approach that incorporates a self-learning filter and center-loss in Deep Residual Shrinking Networks (DRSN) for closed-set modulation classification, and the Opendistance method for open-set modulation classification. Our approach achieves better performance than existing methods in both closed-set and open-set recognition. In closed-set recognition, the self-learning filter and center-loss combination improves recognition performance, with a maximum accuracy of over 92.18%. In open-set recognition, the use of a self-learning filter and center-loss provide an effective feature vector for open-set recognition, and the Opendistance method outperforms SoftMax and OpenMax in F1 scores and mean average accuracy under high openness. Overall, our proposed approach demonstrates promising results for automatic modulation classification, providing better performance in non-cooperative communication systems.

  • Open-source software developments are basically Internet-based communities that voluntarily collaborate in developing software on the Internet and such Internet communities have become an important cultural and economic phenomenon. As a result, the emergence of open-source software has presented a challenge to the traditional offerings by providing free alternatives. The objective of this article is to review the possibility of the adoption of open source software in the creation of digital libraries, highlights advantages and disadvantage preservations. Among our objective also explaining the request of such software at the present time and the criteria evaluated in the digital preservation through surveying the best open source software from the reality of intellectual production, and standards that are being built to evaluate and choose what software to create a digital library without other software available. To achieve the above objectives, we shed the light on the top 11 open-source software to manage Libraries in addition to standards that may represent the basic building block for the selection of the appropriate systems to the needs of the digital library. This article relied on the descriptive approach by reviewing a series of studies and scientific research works related to the subject of the current study. Accordingly, the most prominent of the findings of this work is its illustration of the close association between open source software and the library community, both of which represent free culture. Also it is shown that the selection process of open source software has some obstacles most notably as there are no clear and reliable criteria for selecting these systems. Current study has concluded a set of recommendations, notably awareness of the role and importance of open source software and the facilities it provides in managing digital content.
