With the recent rise in the use of AI-based online translation tools, interest in their methods and effects on education has grown. This study involved 30 prospective elementary school teachers who completed an English writing task using an AI-based online translation tool. The study focused on assessing the impact of these tools on English writing skills and their practical applications. It examined the usability, educational value, and the advantages and disadvantages of the AI translation tool. Through data collected via writing tests, surveys, and interviews, the study revealed that the use of translation tools positively affects English writing skills. From the learners' perspective, these tools were perceived to provide support and convenience for learning. However, there was also recognition of the need for educational strategies to effectively use these tools, alongside concerns about methods to enhance the completeness or accuracy of translations and the potential for over-reliance on the tools. The study concluded that for effective utilization of translation tools, the implementation of educational strategies and the role of the teacher are crucial.

Everyone can easily acquire learning materials on web environment that rapidly develops. Because the importance of English education has been emphasized day by day, many English education systems are introduced. However, previous most English education systems support only single user mode, and cannot deal with a newly coined word such as 'WIKIPEDIA'. In order to lead a user's learning ability with interest and enjoyment, this paper propose an online English word game system implementing a 'scrabble' board game. The proposed English word game system has the following characteristics. First, the proposed system supports both single user mode and multi user mode with a virtual user based on artificial intelligence. Second, the proposed system can recognize newly coined words such as 'WIKIPEDIA' by using NEVER Open API dictionary. Third, the proposed system offers familiar user interface so that a user can play the game without any manual. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed system can help users to learn English words with interest and enjoyment.

New and creative skills must be developed, and adapted into a lesson, to motivate learners to acquire a second language easily and enjoyment, Multimedia tools which are of interest to learners, such as; smart phones, computers, and notebooks with wireless internet compatability, will provide learners opportunities to study, and do their work practically anywhere and anytime. Recently, podcasts, which are a type of digital media, consisting of a series of audio episodes or video files, subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication, or streamed online to a computer or mobile device, are used to facilitate ESL (English as a Second Language) learning. Development of a variety of teaching methods, using multimedia tools, is needed. There are advantages and disadvantages to using a variety of multimedia tools. The current research aims to study its characteristics and application, in order to maximize their effective use, in English education. The current study suggests a ubiquitous learning environment using multimedia content tools, internet media, video teleconferencing, cyber-learning, and one-to-one videos used in conjunction with, or as a digital textbook for the English lesson. This study also investigates future educational changes, using state-of-the-art equipment for the self-learning experience, and will present a new direction in English education, through a variety of instructional devices and a marginalized class system model.

Today, further education of adults in the UK is one of the developing areas of continuing education. The Open University with distance learning, in the process of which innovative forms and methods based on computer and telecommunication technologies are used, is particularly successful in the organization of additional education of the adult population. The advantages of distance learning, multimedia - the latest information technologies, which provide the combination of graphic images, video, sound with the help of modern computer tools, are noted. The basic principles and forms underlying the technologies and forms of work with the elderly are defined. The international experience of implementing "Universities of the Third Age" is summarized. The most widespread approach in adult education in Great Britain is informational. The use of computer technologies motivates a new paradigm in educational methods and strategies, which requires new approaches, forms of learning, and innovative ways of delivering educational materials to adult learners. Information technologies have gained great popularity in such activities as distance learning, online learning, assistance in the education management system, development of programs and virtual textbooks in various subjects, online search for information for the educational process, computer testing of students' knowledge, creation of electronic libraries, formation of a single scientific electronic environment, publication of virtual magazines and newspapers on pedagogical topics, teleconferences, expansion of international cooperation in the field of Internet education. The information technology of synchronous distance learning "online" has gained considerable popularity in the educational process today. A promising direction is the use of multimedia technologies in educational activities to create a design of a virtual computer environment by decoding audiovisual information.

It is noted that although the current state of development of web-based English education (hereafter referred to as WBEE) might not meet the criteria some educators have set for themselves in the field, students certainly seem to prefer studying in a web-based and computer-assisted learning environment. This kind of demand is fueling the drive to develop more suitable variations of WBEE. In order for WBEE to work out, a teacher should be a multifunctional type of instructor handling responsibilities such as the role of scriptwriter to create text, act as technician for the sound mixing and recording, preside over online chat rooms and discussion boards, and finally, as webmaster to maintain the site and supervise all academic/ clerical work related to the course. Therefore, it is suggested that WBEE be accompanied by a small personnel to divide the labor and lessen the burden on the actual teacher. Finally, it is noted that the traditional relationship between students and teacher may no longer be sustainable since WBEE does not provide the face-to-face style of class discussion and office hours in its current form. Until the technology is fully developed to compensate for these kinds of differences, it is an immediate challenge to provide other more compelling reasons for students to participate in WBEE.

According to international regulations, it is mandatory for navigators or engineers to acquire suitable skillsets before their designation as a duty officer on board. One of the most important elements is Maritime English (ME), wherein students are taught a required set of basic skills that enable them to process various documents related to accidents, ship conditions, and inspections. Students have to be equipped not only with the use of general English skills but also with the coherent use of technical terms and phrases. However, due to the unique circumstances that exist in the maritime domain, the methods used for imparting maritime knowledge and the manner in which it is evaluated are restricted. Hence, this study aims to utilize an online Maritime English learning and testing platform that can be accessed on smart devices to analyze its impact on the students' learning process. An experiment was conducted on two groups of cadets, one that used the platform and another group that did not. After six-week, the experiment results showed a significant difference between the ME test scores of the two groups. The test scores were further analyzed by incorporating the students' personal elements to measure the ef icacy of the ME test platform. Therefore, the learning and evaluation processes are expected to be implemented in ways that are appropriate and convenient to specific circumstances and be widely used in the field of maritime education in the future.

This study aims to survey the effectiveness of the international distance learning between Korean and Japanese university students. This research is based on NWCCDL (Namseoul-Waseda Cross-Cultural Distance Learning) project in the spring semester, 2015. This project is the cross-cultural distance learning project between N University in Korea and W University in Japan, and the most important thing of this project is that this project is manipulated through the utilization of ICT. This research consists with two parts: the first is to introduce the NWCCDL project; the participants' information, and the contents and procedure of the on-line chatting program, and BBS(Bulletin Board System) activities. The second is to review on the students' satisfaction for the project and the utilization of ICT in English language education context. The analytic results of the questionnaire includes the students' satisfaction on this project and their reflection on the effectiveness of using ICT in English language classroom of Korea. The results prove that the most of the students are satisfied with the NWCCDL Project in the spring semester, 2015 and the most of the students agree with the fact that the utilization of ICT is very effective in English language education of Korea.

This study aims to examine the efficacy of online lectures conducted by most universities in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Furthermore, this study analyzes students' opinions regarding online lectures, thereby assessing the possible direction that future online lectures could take. This study's results indicate that online lectures can have a positive effect on learners' reading comprehension. Also, student satisfaction with online lectures was found to be quite high. Among the reasons students cited for favoring the online format were: (1) the fun presentation of class information; (2) the diversity of subjects covered; and (3) the ease of using the Internet. Among the improvements made for enhancing online lectures were technical enhancements (such as fixing attendance check authentication errors) and stabilizing the playback of lecture videos. By way of concluding, this study claims that professors who are familiar with giving lectures in person should come to recognize that online lectures are not simply another option, but are essential for the future. As such, the academic community must focus on developing online content as a way to further higher education's development in meeting the academic demands of both the present and the future.

This study investigated the effects of applying the flipped classroom approach with MOOC to the college educational system. A total of six undergraduate students participated in the 10-week innovative learning setting. The participants performed online activities using the learning content from a MOOC website; this was followed by a participatory learning process in the offline classroom. The semi-structured face-to-face interviews for the six participants after the classes were completed and analyzed. The results showed that the instructional method enabled students to be highly motivated and to perform learning activities. However, there were some limitations: (1) learning was impeded due to English language issues and (2) the Korean education culture was still unfamiliar with this pedagogical method. Finally, suggestions for future research are discussed.

This study aims to explore how college students have adjusted to Internet-based learning (IBL) since the pandemic and how they have subjectively experienced their Internet-based classes including live-streaming and recorded classes. We conducted a qualitative study on 16 college students in South Korea. The analysis of the in-depth interviews revealed that despite early negative experiences regarding adjustment to IBL, the participants seemed to have developed an increased sense of control over their learning and simultaneously reported a greater need for self-discipline and social support in order to stay motivated. Also, instructors' digital competence and creative attempts to facilitate class communication and discussion appeared to have influence on successful IBL. Lastly, the participants' physical learning environments seemed to impact their online learning in terms of their level of alertness and motivation for study. Implications and suggestions were discussed.
