  • In this papaer, a new type of ${\lambda}_g/4$ short stub band pass filter and ${\lambda}_g/2$ open stub band pass filter are purposed. Both are designed using FSCS technique for harmonic suppression. The proposed filters that used FSCS technique and a broadband stop filter is integrated to band pass filter to suppress the harmonics. The BSF are also placed between stubs so that the size is larger than prevent as compared to conventional one. The propose filters have center frequency of 5.8 GHz, bandwidth of 50% and harmonics suppressin is 120% has in bandwith. The measurement results in the case of ${\lambda}_g/4$ short stub filter, insertion loss of 0.5 dB, return loss of 14 dB are achieved and in the case of ${\lambda}_g/2$ open stub filter, loss of 0.8 dB, return loss of 14.4 dB are achieved. The simulation results and the measurement results are almost the same.

  • A series of tests on concrete-filled SHS (Square Hollow Section) stub columns (twenty), columns (eight) and beam-columns (twenty one) were carried out. The main parameters varied in the tests are (1) Confinement factor (${\xi}$) from 1.08 to 5.64, (2) concrete compression strength from 10.7MPa to 36.6MPa, (3) tube width to thickness ratio from 20.5 to 36.5. (4) load eccentricity (e) from 15 mm to 80 mm and (5) column slenderness (${\lambda}$) from 45 to 75. A mechanics model is developed in this paper for concrete-filled SHS stub columns, columns and beam-columns. A unified theory is described where a confinement factor (${\xi}$) is introduced to describe the composite action between the steel tube and filled concrete. The predicted load versus axial strain relationship is in good agreement with stub column test results. Simplified models are derived for section capacities and modulus in different stages of the composite sections. The predicted beam-column strength is compared with that of 331 beam-column tests with a wide range of parameters. A good agreement is obtained. The predicted load versus midspan deflection relationship for beam-columns is in good agreement with test results. A simplified model is developed for calculating the member capacity of concrete-filled SHS columns. Comparisons are made with predicted columns strengths using the existing codes such as LRFD (AISC 1994), AIJ (1997), and EC4 (1996). Simplified interaction curves are derived for concrete-filled beam-columns.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for protecting Android applications against reverse engineering attacks. In this method, the server encrypts the original executable code (DEX) included in an APK file, inserts into the APK file a stub code that decrypts the encrypted DEX later at run-time, and distributes the modified APK file. The stub code includes an integrity validation code to detect attacks on itself. When a user installs and executes the APK file, the stub code verifies the integrity of itself, decrypts the encrypted DEX, and loads it dynamically to execute. Since the original DEX is distributed as an encrypted one, we can effectively protect the intellectual property. Further, by verifying the integrity of the stub code, we can prevent malicious users from bypassing our method. We applied the method to 15 Android apps, and evaluated its effectiveness. We confirmed that 13 out of them operates normally.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the structural performance on the Rectangular Steel Tube Column-to-H Beam connections using one-side bolts and T-stub. Although a rectangular steel tube comparing with a H-shaped steel has many advantages and is more efficient, its application is limited due to the lack of experiences and connection details. Existing steel moment connections using the rectangular steel tube are mainly using through plate diaphragms. Its processing of construction is so complicated that it is hard to apply in the field. In this study, the structural performance and the earthquake capacity for T-stub connection with one-side bolts were investigated. And it is performed a comparative analysis of strength, rigidity, total rotation and energy absorption capacity for the various connection details.

  • In this paper, a monopole antenna applicable to WLAN standardization is designed, fabricated, and tested. The proposed antenna is designed to have three microstrip lines based on microstrip feeding method and inserted one stub to enhance impedance characteristics. Then, it obtained triple band characteristics of the proposed antenna. We adjusted and optimized the lengths and width of the three microstrip lines and one inserted stub to obtain the required impedance bandwidth for this paper. The proposed antenna has $23.0mm(W){\times}53.1mm(L1)$ on a dielectric substrate of $24.0mm(W1){\times}60.0mm(L){\times}1.0mm$ size. From the fabrication and measurement results, bandwidths of 158 MHz (841 to 1000 MHz) for 900 MHz band, 630 MHz (2.32 to 2.95 GHz) for 2400 MHz band, and 1,040 MHz (4.95 to 5.99 GHz) for 5000 MHz band were obtained based on the impedance bandwidth. The fabricated antenna also obtained the measured gain and radiation pattern characteristics in the required triple band of the proposed antenna.

  • In this paper, a dual-band circular ring monopole antenna with stub and ground slot for is proposed WLAN(Wireless Local Area Networks) applications. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of one circular ring of radiating patches, and modified feed line, and rectangular slot in the ground plane for dual-band operation. To obtain the optimized parameters, we used the simulator, Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator(HFSS) and found the parameters that effect antenna characteristics. Using the obtained parameters, the antenna is fabricated, and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined for WLAN application.

  • In this paper, the UWB (Ultra Wide Band) band-pass filter (BPF) with compact-size using impedance mismatching in transmission line and SIR (Stepped Impedance Resonator) instead of open stubs is presented. The proposed BPF have 103 % of bandwidth and 11.2 GHz of center frequency, respectively. In additional, the operation frequencies of the suggested BPF are 4.8 GHz to 16 GHz. In this structure, the length of the transmission line is reduced to half compared with the original one by impedance mismatching technique with low frequency band (sub harmonics) and harmonic components. Also, the open stub can be used for SIR due to reduced size. Experimental results show that the insertion and return losses are 0.35 dB and 15.1 dB, respectively and the filter size is $8.92{\times}10.6mm^2$. The proposed BPF is in good agreement.

  • The tensile behavior of the Thread-fixed One-side Bolt (TOB) at high temperatures was studied using the Finite Element Modeling (FEM) to explore the structural responses that could not be measured in tests. The accuracy of the FEM was verified using the test results from the failure mode, load-displacement curve as well as yielding load. Three typical failure modes of TOB connected T-stubs were observed, which were the Flange Yielding (FY), the Bolt Failure (BF) and the Coupling Failure mode (CF). The influence of the flange thickness tb and the temperature θ on the tensile behavior of the T-stub were discussed. The initial stiffness and the yielding load decreased with the increase of the temperature. The T-stubs almost lost their resistance when the temperature exceeded 700℃. The failure modes of T-stubs were mainly decided by the flange thickness, which relates to the anchorage of the hole threads and the bending resistance of flange. The failure mode could also be changed by the high temperature. Design equations in EN 1993-1-8 were modified and verified by the FEM results. The results showed that these equations could predict the failure mode and the yielding load at different temperatures with satisfactory accuracy.

  • In this paper, three DC Block designs are presented which efficiently meet the need of modern-day compactsize wireless communication systems. As one of the important parts of a complete system design, the proposed microstrip-based DC block with coupled transmission lines efficiently attenuates unwanted frequencies that cause damage to the system. The compact-sized DC block structures are created by incorporating an extended coupled-line section with a radial stub, an enveloped coupled-line section, and using alternate up-down meandering techniques. The structures are analyzed for the L-Band using a high-resistive silicon substrate. At a resonating frequency of 1.575 GHz, the designed DC Block structures have a return loss better than -10 dB, an insertion loss of around -1 dB, and also possess wide pass-band characteristics.

  • A new internal antenna for GSM/DCS/Bluetooth application is proposed by using a folded loop resonator. Both feed leg and shorting leg are symmetrically implemented at the center of the folded loop, thus leading to produce resonances at integer frequencies of quarter wavelength. An open stub added at one end of the folded loop can reduce resonant frequencies. The open stub play a role in generating PIFA structure at a GSM band, thus increasing bandwidth, Two resonances at the GSM band are observed at folded ring and PIFA, respectively.
