전기적으로 빠른 과도현상/버스트 신호의 복사방출과 대책 (Radiated Emission of Electrical Fast Transient/Burst Signal and Its Countermeasures)

  • 본 논문에서는 전자파적합성 국제 규격인 IEC 61000-4-4에서 규정하고 있는 전기적으로 빠른 과도현상/버스트(EFT/Burst) 신호가 전원선을 따라 시험대상품에 인가될 때, 인가신호에 기인하여 방사되는 불요전자파와 그 신호가 피시험품에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 먼저 국제규격에 규정된 시험 배치방법에 따라 시험 샘플을 설치하고, 검증된 EFT/Burst 발생기로 1분 동안 +4 kV의 규정된 신호를 길이 1 m인 전원선을 통해 시험 샘플에 인가하였다. 그 결과, 전원선을 통해 인가되는 전도성 EFT/Burst 내성 신호 외 버스트 발생기 및 전원선에서 직접 공기 중으로 방출되는 방사성 신호(EFT/Burst 노이즈)가 검출되었고, 국제 공인시험 규격으로 이 신호를 측정한 결과, 규제 레벨보다 30 dB 이상 높았다. 또한, EFT/Burst 방사성 신호의 최대 방사 지점과 시험품의 이격 거리에 따른 전계강도를 측정한 결과, 방사내성 국제 규격치보다 최대 23 V/m 이상 강한 전계강도가 검출되었다. 이는 EFT/Burst 방사성 노이즈가 직접적으로 제품에 인가되어 오동작을 유발할 가능성이 대단히 높으므로 대책이 요구됨을 확인하였다.

선박용 가스엔진의 NOx 배출량예측에 관한 연구 (Prediction of NOx emission for marine gas engines)

  • 선박용 디젤엔진에서 천연가스의 사용기술은 NOx, SOx 및 GHG의 배출을 단독으로 크게 삭감할 수 있는 기술이다. 특히 셰일가스의 등장으로 가스의 공급이 확대될 것으로 예상되는 가운데 추진기관용 2행정기관에의 이용이 적극적으로 개발 검토되고 있다. 가스엔진의 출력성능은 디젤기관과 비교하여 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으며 연료소비율은 약간 개선되는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 그러나 배기특성에 있어서는 연소기술에 따라서 다른 성능을 나타내고 있으며 희박연소기술에 의하여 NOx 배출량은 85%정도의 감축이 가능한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 가스엔진의 연소생성물의 발생량을 시뮬레이션 할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 희박연소의 영향은 물론 예혼합연소와 확산연소에 의한 영향도 시뮬레이션 할 수 있는 기능을 가지고 있다. 이를 위해서 실린더 내 상태변화는 2영역모델(Two-zone model)을 이용하고 열발생율 패턴은 Wiebe 함수를 이용하며, 공연비를 입력데이터로 하여 다양한 연소조건에서의 배기생성물의 발생량 예측을 가능하게 하였다.

An Evaluation of Energy Saving Measures for Ocean Going Vessels

  • This paper analyzes and evaluates the importance of energy saving measures based on qualitative survey. Through literature review and group interviews with specialists, 4 factors, 13 measures for energy savings, and 4 evaluation criteria were selected to carry out an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. At the first stage of AHP analysis, the importance of factors was derived, and then the importance of 13 measures. Lastly, the cross examination of 4 factors was carried out in order to evaluate the best possible qualitative considerations. The result revealed that 'choosing the best course weather', is the most important factor with the highest value on applicability and operational complexity criteria. These results may imply that operational considerations are regarded as a main factor to be taken into account when considering appropriate energy saving measures.

Dense Thermal 3D Point Cloud Generation of Building Envelope by Drone-based Photogrammetry

  • Recently there are growing interests on the energy conservation and emission reduction. In the fields of architecture and civil engineering, the energy monitoring of structures is required to response the energy issues. In perspective of thermal monitoring, thermal images gains popularity for their rich visual information. With the rapid development of the drone platform, aerial thermal images acquired using drone can be used to monitor not only a part of structure, but wider coverage. In addition, the stereo photogrammetric process is expected to generate 3D point cloud with thermal information. However thermal images show very poor in resolution with narrow field of view that limit the use of drone-based thermal photogrammety. In the study, we aimed to generate 3D thermal point cloud using visible and thermal images. The visible images show high spatial resolution being able to generate precise and dense point clouds. Then we extract thermal information from thermal images to assign them onto the point clouds by precisely establishing photogrammetric collinearity between the point clouds and thermal images. From the experiment, we successfully generate dense 3D thermal point cloud showing 3D thermal distribution over the building structure.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Disinfection Efficiency through TiO2/WO3 Composite Synthesis and Heat Treatment Optimization

  • This study focuses on improving the photocatalytic degradation efficiency by synthesizing a TiO2/WO3 composite. Given the environmental significance of photocatalysis and the limitations posed by TiO2's large bandgap and high electron recombination rate, we explored doping, surface modification, and synthesis strategies. The composite was created using a ball mill process and heat treatment, analyzed with field emission scanning electron microscope, high resolution X-ray diffraction, Raman microscope, and UV-Vis/NIR spectrometer to examine its morphology, composition and absorbance. We found that incorporating WO3 into the TiO2 lattice forms a Wx-Ti1-x-O2 solution, with optimal WO3 content reducing the band gap and enhancing sterilization efficiency by inhibiting the anatasese to rutile transition. This contributes to the field by offering a way to overcome TiO2's limitations and improve photocatalytic performance.

통신해양기상위성과 정지궤도 발사체와의 전자파 적합성 해석 (Preliminary EMC Analysis between the COMS and the GEO Launch Vehicles)

  • In this paper, the preliminary EMC analysis process between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) launch vehicles in the frequency range [1MHz-47MHz] is described. The considered launch vehicles are arian V, sea Launch, land Launch, atlas III&V, delta IV, proton M/breeze M, soyuz, HII-A and Angara. The launch vehicle Radiated Emission (RE) specifications have been compared to COMS satellite Radiated Susceptibility (RS) limits. The COMS RS limits are the RS qualification levels of COMS units during launch. As a result, The radiated emission levels of arian V, sea launch, atlas III&V, delta IV, proton M/breeze M, HII-A and angara are compliant with COMS RS limits. The negative margins appear between land launch or soyuz launch vehicle RE and COMS RS. Then, if the land launch or soyuz is chosen by the customer, The tests should be performed at satellite level in order to demonstrate the compatibility with respect to launch vehicles specifications.

선박 발전용 4행정 디젤엔진의 IMO 운전모드에 따른 NOx 배출특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of NOx Emissions by IMO Operating Modes in a Four Stroke Marine Power Generation Diesel Engine)

  • Environmental protection on the ocean has been interested and nowadays the International Maritime Organization(IMO) has advanced on the prevention of air pollution from ships. This study presents the performance and the emission characteristics of 4 stroke marine diesel engines for generation application in D2 cycle(IMO mode). The effects of important operating parameters, such as intake air pressure. intake air temperature and maximum combustion pressure on NOx emissions were also described. Emissions measurement and calculation are processed according to IMO Technical Code. The results show that the maximum combustion pressure by fuel injection timing control and intake air temperature has strong influence on NOx emission production. But NOx emission is not affected by intake air pressure and exhaust gas back pressure.

정속항해 시 함정 주 추진 디젤엔진의 배기가스 배출량 예측 (Emission Prediction from Naval Ship Main Propulsive Diesel Engine under Steady Navigation)

  • 본 연구는 해군함정에 탑재되어 있는 주 추진 디젤엔진에서 배출되는 입자상 물질, 황산화물, 이산화탄소 및 질소산화물의 배출량 예측에 초점을 두었다. 국제사회 및 각국의 정부는 인간의 건강 및 환경을 보호하기 위해 선박의 배기가스 규제를 엄격히 적용하고 있으며 선박 제작사들은 이러한 법규에 대응하기 위해 다양한 기술을 선박에 적용시키고 있다. 엄격히 적용되는 배기가스 법규는 선박의 크기에 따라 차이를 보이고 있지만 함정은 규제대상에서 제외된다. 다양한 연구결과에 의해 선박의 배기가스 배출량 계수(emission factor)는 지속적으로 최신화되고 있으나 함정의 배출량 계수는 그 특성의 차이 때문에 설정이 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문은 함정 엔진의 연료소모량과 함정에서 사용하고 있는 연료의 황성분 함량을 분석하여 항해 시 선박에 적용되고 있는 오염물질 기여도 조사(emission inventory) 방법론을 해군함정에 적용시켜 정속항해 조건에서 배기가스 총 배출량을 예측하는 것이다.

피로균열의 지연거동에 따른 수명예측 및 비파괴평가 (Life Prediction by Retardation Behavior of Fatigue Crack and its Nondestructive Evaluation)

  • Fatigue life and crack retardation behavior after penetration were experimentally examined using surface pre-cracked specimens of aluminium alloy 5083. The Wheeler model retardation parameter was used successfully to predict crack growth behavior after penetration. By using a crack propagation rule, the change in crack shape after penetration can be evaluated quantitatively. Advanced, waveform-based acoustic emission (AE) techniques have been successfully used to evaluate signal characteristics obtained form fatigue crack propagation and penetratin behavior in 6061 aluminum plate with surface crack under fatigue stress. Surface defects in the structural members are apt to be origins of fatigue crack growth, which may cause serious failure of the whole structure. The nondestructive analysis on the crack growth and penetration from these defects may, therefore, be one of the most important subjects on the reliability of the leak before break (LBB) design. The goal of the present study is to determine if different sources of the AE could be identified by characteristics of the waveforms produced from the crack growth and penetration. AE signals detected in four stages were found to have different signal per stage. With analysis of waveform and power spectrum in 6061 aluminum alloys with a surface crack, it is found to be capabilities on real-time monitoring for the crack propagation and penetration behavior of various damages and defects in structural members.
