Methods : Nine community-dwelling older individuals participated in this study using a one-group pre-post design. The occupation-based lifestyle intervention program consisted of 12 group sessions, and one individual session was conducted for seven weeks. Occupational balance, activity occupancy, activity participation, depression, health-related quality of life, and program satisfaction were assessed. Results : The average attendance rate of the nine participants was 10.11 (SD=1.36). Overall occupational balance (p=.012), activity participation status (p=.008), performance (p=.012), and satisfaction with activity participation (p=.008) were increased. Furthermore, the results showed changes in leisure time (p=.008) and rest time (p=.008). Finally, there were some improvements in the overall health-related quality of life (p=.034) and depression scores (p=.012). Conclusions : Occupation-based lifestyle intervention programs positively affected occupational balance, activity occupancy, activity participation, depression, and health-related quality of life in community-dwelling older adults. • This paper examine how CCT affected to writing task performance and EEG through 24 elementary students from in July to September, 2014. The study analyzed EEG that was changed in a task performance under an orange color light and a white color light in a laboratory for stabilization and relaxation. The study results showed that an alpha wave, beta wave, high-beta wave were high under the white color light. The task performance time, however, showed significant fast performance under the orange color light. Although pre-existing low CCT has been considered as typical type for stabilization and relaxation, this study provides that the various applications in the elements of cognition, tasks, and types can affect improvement of task performance and occupation ability.

(2) The criteria of classification of the household financial strategies were relative, not absolute. (3) The household financial strategy types changed largely during a short period(1999-2000). (4) In all households, the variables that affected changes in household financial strategies were education, occupation, number of children, residential location and home ownership. (5) Households that employed a diversified portfolio strategy had the greatest financial performance (2,316,000 won net gain). (6) In all households, the variables that had the greatest influence on financial performance were the number of children, assets and debts. 1'he financial performance was significantly different according to changes in the household financial strategy.

  • Many empiric research findings have supported that the characteristics and strength of Organization Culture(OC) is closely related with organizational performance(absenteeism, job satisfaction, cohesiveness and turnover etc.). The first purpose of this study is to review the relationship between OC and turnover as a performance factor, and the second and primary purpose is to test the moderating effects of personal factors(sex, educational career, rank, occupation, marital status, job switching, age, company tenure and job tenure) between OC and turnover. For the analytical purpose of this article, OC type is categorized as Maintainable Culture(MC), Affiliation Culture(AC), Progressive Culture(PC) and Rational Culture(RC) based on Quinn(1985). The empirical results are as followings: Moderating effects are found in sex(with MC and RC), educational career(with MC, PC and RC), job switching(with MC and RC).

  • Objective: The self-decisions of the client regarding the meaningful work as a therapeutic approach of client-orientation. The Cognitive Orientation to daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) is an occupation-oriented problem-solving approach. The purpose of this study was to describe the goals and intervention protocols of CO-OP in those affected by stroke. Design: A systematic review. Methods: Using EBSCOhost, PubMed, and ProQuest databases, we searched studies published in the past decade that utilized the CO-OP intervention. An initial search revealed 71,171 potential articles. After applying our search criteria to screen the titles, abstracts, and full-text, we included 7 articles that met our inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this study, we used the patient, intervention(s), comparison, outcome method to analyze the 7 selected studies. We analyzed the frequency of goals and intervention protocols. Results: Seven articles met our selection criteria; these studies included participants with an almost normal cognitive function from inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities. CO-OP was used for 237 goals; the most used goal was the instrumental activities of daily living. The training procedure used 3 types of self-selecting goals in the activities. One of the goals was not trained, but was only evaluated to determine the generation effect. The most common outcome measurements included the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure and the Performance Quality Rating Scale. Conclusions: This research provided information about the effectiveness of CO-OP and selecting the correct evaluation tool to assess the efficiency of the intervention. This study suggests that treatment with CO-OP in occupational therapy is effective and that it outlines common protocols.

  • With the rapid acceleration of low-birth rate and population aging, the employment of the neglected groups of people including the middle aged class is a crucial issue in South Korea. In particular, in the 2010s, the number of the middle aged who want to find a new job after retirement age is significantly increasing with the arrival of the retirement time of the baby boom generation (born 1955-1963). Despite the importance of matching jobs to this emerging middle aged class, private job portals as well as the Korean government do not provide any online job service tailored for them. A gigantic amount of job information is available online; however, the current recruiting systems do not meet the demand of the middle aged class as their primary targets are young workers. We are in dire need of a specially designed recruiting system for the middle aged. Meanwhile, when users are searching the desired occupations on the Worknet website, provided by the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor, users are experiencing discomfort to search for similar jobs because Worknet is providing filtered search results on the basis of exact matches of a preferred job code. Besides, according to our Worknet data analysis, only about 24% of job seekers had landed on a job position consistent with their initial preferred job code while the rest had landed on a position different from their initial preference. To improve the situation, particularly for the middle aged class, we investigate a soft job matching technique by performing the following: 1) we review a user behavior logs of Worknet, which is a public job recruiting system set up by the Korean government and point out key system design implications for the middle aged. Specifically, we analyze the job postings that include preferential tags for the middle aged in order to disclose what types of jobs are in favor of the middle aged; 2) we develope a new occupation classification scheme for the middle aged, Korea Occupation Classification for the Middle-aged (KOCM), based on the similarity between jobs by reorganizing and modifying a general occupation classification scheme. When viewed from the perspective of job placement, an occupation classification scheme is a way to connect the enterprises and job seekers and a basic mechanism for job placement. The key features of KOCM include establishing the Simple Labor category, which is the most requested category by enterprises; and 3) we design MOMA (Middle-aged Occupation Matching Algorithm), which is a hybrid job matching algorithm comprising constraint-based reasoning and case-based reasoning. MOMA incorporates KOCM to expand query to search similar jobs in the database. MOMA utilizes cosine similarity between user requirement and job posting to rank a set of postings in terms of preferred job code, salary, distance, and job type. The developed system using MOMA demonstrates about 20 times of improvement over the hard matching performance. In implementing the algorithm for a web-based application of recruiting system for the middle aged, we also considered the usability issue of making the system easier to use, which is especially important for this particular class of users. That is, we wanted to improve the usability of the system during the job search process for the middle aged users by asking to enter only a few simple and core pieces of information such as preferred job (job code), salary, and (allowable) distance to the working place, enabling the middle aged to find a job suitable to their needs efficiently. The Web site implemented with MOMA should be able to contribute to improving job search of the middle aged class. We also expect the overall approach to be applicable to other groups of people for the improvement of job matching results.
