최적화된 CUDA 소프트웨어 제작을 위한 프로그래밍 기법 분석 (Analysis of Programming Techniques for Creating Optimized CUDA Software)

  • GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)는 범용 CPU와는 달리 다수코어 스트리밍 프로세서(manycore streaming processor) 형태로 특화되어 발전되어 왔으며, 최근 뛰어난 병렬 처리 연산 능력으로 인하여 점차 많은 영역에서 CPU의 역할을 대체하고 있다. 이러한 추세에 따라 최근 NVIDIA 사에서는 GPGPU(General Purpose GPU) 아키텍처인 CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture)를 발표하여 보다 유연한 GPU 프로그래밍 환경을 제공하고 있다. 일반적으로 CUDA API를 사용한 프로그래밍 작업시 GPU의 계산구조에 관한 여러 가지 요소들에 대한 특성을 정확히 파악해야 효율적인 병렬 소프트웨어를 개발할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 실험과 시행착오를 통하여 획득한 CUDA 프로그래밍에 관한 최적화 기법에 대하여 설명하고, 그러한 방법들이 프로그램 수행의 효율에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아본다. 특히 특정 예제 문제에 대하여 효과적인 계층 구조 메모리의 접근과 코어 활성화 비율(occupancy), 지연 감춤(latency hiding) 등과 같이 성능에 영향을 미치는 몇 가지 규칙을 실험을 통해 분석해봄으로써, 향후 CUDA를 기반으로 하는 효과적인 병렬 프로그래밍에 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 제시한다.

한국과 일본의 가구형 집합주택의 거주후평가 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Block Housing of Korea and Japan by Post Occupancy Evaluation)

  • In modern Asia major cities had same problem with lack of affordable housing for families. So they had to concentrate to the mass supply of housing and made some physical counter effects like high density of cities, limitation of parking space. Also people who lived in those cities could suffer from broken traditional community culture. To rebuild traditional community and increase land usage, Block housing is suggested as a new kind of multi-family housing for old town redevelopment. Now some governments are trying to make urban code to give some initiative for new block housing development in old city blocks. They expect this new housing type can help to solve serious problems like lack of parking area, green space and context of block. Also they hope that block housing development can help to increase safety of town and reduce cost of development. The purpose of this study is to review the establishment and development process of Block Housing and to confirm the aspect which has been changed with urban organization together. Also this study tried to find out the intentional characteristics of similarities and differences with comparison of Korea and Japan. And as a result we could find critical physical viewpoint, and provide considerations for future study and plan. Several cases of block housing in Korea and Japan were reviewed for comparative study and Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) survey was examined to find satisfaction factors and problems which were expected to improved.

디지털 홈의 홈오토메이션 시스템에 대한 거주 후 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Post-Occupancy Evaluation of Home Automation System at Digital Home)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the level of awareness, uses, and satisfaction on home automation systems by the digital home residents, to reveal the existing problems using home automation systems, and to clarify residents' positive or negative life changes after using home automation systems. Two apartment complexes, which were relatively well equipped with home automation systems compared to other recently built apartments, were selected to perform the survey by digital home residents who were housewives and have lived in current home more than 6 months. The researcher developed a survey questionnaire for each apartment complex and collected data from 501 residents from May to June, 2008. The results of the study found low awareness and low uses of remote control systems of electric appliances through a cellular phone or PC from outside. Also, the significant variables which showed group differences in level of uses and satisfation were age, annual income, duration of residence, and level of considering home automation system before decision to move in. The results of the study also revealed that frequent breakdown was the most critical problem using home automation systems. Generally, using home automation systems affected to residents' life changes positively. More findings and suggestions for development of more user-friendly digital home services were discussed.

Multi-Range Approach of Stereo Vision for Mobile Robot Navigation in Uncertain Environments

  • The detection of free spaces between obstacles in a scene is a prerequisite for navigation of a mobile robot. Especially for stereo vision-based navigation, the problem of correspondence between two images is well known to be of crucial importance. This paper describes multi-range approach of area-based stereo matching for grid mapping and visual navigation in uncertain environment. Camera calibration parameters are optimized by evolutionary algorithm for successful stereo matching. To obtain reliable disparity information from both images, stereo images are to be decomposed into three pairs of images with different resolution based on measurement of disparities. The advantage of multi-range approach is that we can get more reliable disparity in each defined range because disparities from high resolution image are used for farther object a while disparities from low resolution images are used for close objects. The reliable disparity map is combined through post-processing for rejecting incorrect disparity information from each disparity map. The real distance from a disparity image is converted into an occupancy grid representation of a mobile robot. We have investigated the possibility of multi-range approach for the detection of obstacles and visual mapping through various experiments.

  • 1980년대 초반부터 대량 주택 공급과 고층 건축물의 급증으로 주차공간 부족현상이 사회적 문제점으로 지적되어져 왔다. 단적인 예로 서울시의 년간 주차장 개소 통계 연보를 살펴보면 2003년에 206,281 개소인 것이 2006년 237,770 개소로 약 15%의 증가율이 나타났다. 이와같이 매년 많은 주차시설이 확충되고 있는 것에 반하여 주차장 바닥에 사용되어지는 마감 재료의 대부분이 유기계 재료가 시공되어 지고 있다. 그러나 최근 "웰빙적 문화현상"에 따라 유기계 재료의 문제점(환경호르몬 배출, 휘발성유기화합물의 화재 위험 등)이 부각되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 작업자 뿐만아니라 사용자의 안전을 고려하여 인체 무해한 친환경 고유동 세라믹 수지 모르타르를 이용한 주차장 바닥 표면 마감재의 재료적 특성 분석 및 물성평가를 통하여 기존 유기계 바닥재의 문제점을 보완하고 새로운 개념의 주차장 바닥 마감재에 대한 현장 적용성을 확인하였다.

도시공원 내 기존 건축물 제도의 변천 과정 분석 (An Analysis on the Change of Existing Building-related System in Urban Parks)

  • Existing buildings in urban parks are a kind of thing that has been settled and occupied on the site of an unexecuted park. The aim of this study is to identify nature by analyzing the causality and path-dependency through the transformation of the relevant system. The scope of the study was set up as a system for the occupancy of urban parks from 1934 when the building restriction system was established to 2000 when purchase claim (매수청구권) was introduced. The method of study was to get correlation by harmonizing the external and internal mechanisms affecting the relevant institution. The related system showed a modest change in the fourth stage, polymerizing the initial system. In the 1950s and 1960s, the existing buildings in urban parks were 'disguised' by government and the 'regulation' principle was applied since 1967. In the 1980s, the principle of 'protection' and 'support' for parks was added, but in the 1990s, the principle of regulation began to be lifted as the long-term unexecuted urban park (장기미집행 도시공원) problem continued for more than 60 years. Although the public concept of land ownership (토지공개념) has worked strongly for nearly 30 years since 1960, the system has developed into a form of deregulation since 1980. The nature of the relevant institution is first, dependent on the higher-level system and vertical. Second, it implies a conflict of restrictions and acceptance. Third, it is a temporary measure of the park problem. Therefore, the relevant system has long been enhancing the encroachment requirements on urban parks, so fundamental readjustment is needed in the future.

선석할당 계획문제의 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of Berth Planning Problem)

  • 이 논문은 공공 컨테이너 터미널에서 직면하는 선석할당 계획문제를 다루고 있다. 선석할당 계획문제의 주된 논점은 ETA가 주어진 컨데이너 선박들을 어떻게 선석에 할당할 것인가를 결정하는 것이다. 선석할당 계획문제의 세 가지 최적화 모형들은 집합 문제 유형으로 정식화시켜 제시하였다. 또한, 제안된 최적화 모형의 의사결정 변수를 생성하기 위한 경험론적 알고리듬은 선박의 대기시간과 선석 점유율을 사용하여 고안하였다. 계산 실험은 실제 공공 컨데이너 터미널의 데이터로 수행하였으며, 그 결과들은 제안된 최적화 모형들과 경험론적 알고리듬들이 공공 컨테이너 터미널의 선석할당 계획문제에 대하여 유용하게 적용될 수 있음을 제시하고 있다.

  • The advent of B-ISDN using ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) made possible a variety of new multimedia services, however it also created a problem of congestion control due to bursty nature of various traffic sources. To tackle this problem, UPC/NPC(user parameter control/network parameter control) have been actively studied and DRLB(dynamic rate leaky bucket) algorithm, in which the token generation rate is changed according to states of data source andbuffer occupancy, is a good example of the UPC/NPC. However, the DRLB algorithm has drawbacks of low efficiency and difficult real-time implementation for bursty traffic sources because the determination of token generation rate in the algorithm is based on the present state of network. In this paper, we propose a more plastic and effective congestion control algorithm by combining the DRLB algorithm and neural network based prediction to remedy the drawbacks of the DRLB algorithm, and verify the efficacy of the proposed method by computer simulations.

都市 超高層 住居建築의 室內空氣環境의 評價에 관한 硏究 (A Study on the Evaluation of Indoor Air Environment in Super High-Rise Dwelling House)

  • The concept of dwelling space is tend to be changed not only to have reasonable mobility but also to have high quality of indoor air with psychologicaa satisfaction and comfortable. Moreover, recent constructed buildings have a big problem because of exhausted pollution gas and particles from building materials. More serious problem occurs from its high air tightness reducing the ventilation for saving the energy and superior adiabatic insulators to have high heat efficiency. Indoor air quality in super high-rise dwelling house was investigated by measuring pollutants such as $CO_2,=;CO,\;MO_2,\;R_n,\;TSP,\;PM_{10}$, HCHO, Offensive ordor. Subjective evaluation of residential environment is processed for the inhabitants who live in research space by testing environmental load in accordance with environment morphology, exterior environmental factor and post occupancy correlation and influence of attention.

  • 본 연구에서는 협소거주공간에 대해 이해하고 대표적인 협소 거주공간인 고시원, 노래방 등에 대한 설문 및 실태조사와 과거 관련 사고사례 조사 및 분석을 통해 협소 거주공간의 화재 위험 특성을 분석하였다. 고시원과 노래방은 업종 특성상 구획된 실의 밀폐되고 복잡한 통로 구조를 가지고 있다. 또한 노래방의 경우 지하층에 위치하여 있어 화재 발생 시 환기 및 배연이 잘 이루어지지 않고 피난로가 복잡하여 제한적인 구조를 가지고 있다. 특히 고시원은 독립적이고 폐쇄적인 공간적 특성을 가지고 있어 화재 진압에 큰 어려움을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 협소 거주공간의 구조물 특성에 적합한 소방설비의 설치와 특수한 구조적 형태 및 환경에 적합한 특수 장비(화원 탐지, 요구조자 구조 등) 및 화재 진압 전술에 대한 연구개발이 요구된다.
