  • Recently, the various performances of vehicle are rapidly improved. Therefore tire noise is recognized as important noise source because vehicle noise is considerably reduced. This study is performed for the control of the cavity resonance noise that is structure-borne noise, due to fluid(air)-structure interaction. For this investigation, FRF analysis has been carried out using FEM and we found an important factor affecting cavity resonance. The effect of this factor is confirmed by objective noise test. We confirmed that the result of FRF analysis and objective noise test is that the structure control of tire sidewall can reduce cavity resonance noise due to fluid-structure interaction

  • This study comprehensively analyzes previous research comparing the similarities between 3D virtual and actual fittings, and identifies the current usage and limitations of virtual fitting programs. The findings reveal that, in most cases, 3D virtual fittings are not perfect substitutes for actual fittings. To address these limitations, this research focuses on the Hohenstein fitting test and BP-ANNs-based garment fit evaluation method, which incorporate various parameters, such as the correlation between wearers and garments, garment pressure, and ease, thus providing objective data, such as data acquired that can enhance subjective evaluations. By integrating such objective assessments, the study suggests potential improvements in virtual fitting accuracy. This research is expected to provide foundational data necessary for the development of a consumer virtual fitting systems alongside advancements in 3D virtual fitting technology.

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the lining board's capacity by using the static loading test and fatigue test. Specimens that constitute the H & Channel type lining board are adopted. The test is to inspect the possibility of retrofit and efficiency, which is required to upgrade the structure's capacity and to examine the effects of the improvements of specimen by using structural analysis, stress analysis, static loading test and fatigue test, respectively. The accumulated test results of stress condition and deflection by bending will be used to analyze the relation between the cause of fatigue crack occurrence and the behavior of both structure system and the steel.

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the reliability of a volute pump and presents test results through performance and life tests. The performance and life test methods were presented by analyzing the failure modes of the volute pump. Zero failure test time was calculated to evaluate the reliability of the volute pump and then, the test was performed under accelerated conditions. The test was also carried out to check the failure modes of the field conditions. This study can be provided to improve the product reliability through failure analysis of the volute pump. And failure cause of typical failure case has been investigated and improvement design has been presented. The performance test results of before and after the accelerated life test were presented to confirm the improved reliability of the volute pump.

  • This paper presents a novel symbiotic organisms search (SOS) algorithm to optimize both real power loss (RPL) and voltage stability limit (VSL) of a transmission network by controlling the variables such as unified power flow controller (UPFC) location, UPFC series injected voltage magnitude and phase angle and transformer taps simultaneously. Mathematically, this issue can be formulated as nonlinear equality and inequality constrained multi objective, multi variable optimization problem with a fitness function integrating both RPL and VSL. The symbiotic organisms search (SOS) algorithm is a nature inspired optimization method based on the biological interactions between the organisms in ecosystem. The advantage of SOS algorithm is that it requires a few control parameters compared to other meta-heuristic algorithms. The proposed SOS algorithm is applied for solving optimum control variables for both single objective and multi-objective optimization problems and tested on New England 39 bus test system. In the single objective optimization problem only RPL minimization is considered. The simulation results of the proposed algorithm have been compared with the results of the algorithms like interior point successive linear programming (IPSLP) and bacteria foraging algorithm (BFA) reported in the literature. The comparison results confirm the efficacy and superiority of the proposed method in optimizing both single and multi objective problems.

  • In this paper, we present a symbiotic evolutionary algorithm for multi-objective optimization. The goal in multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) is to find a set of well-distributed solutions close to the true Pareto optimal solutions. Most of the existing MOEAs operate one population that consists of individuals representing the entire solution to the problem. The proposed algorithm has a two-leveled structure. The structure is intended to improve the capability of searching diverse and food solutions. At the lower level there exist several populations, each of which represents a partial solution to the entire problem, and at the upper level there is one population whose individuals represent the entire solutions to the problem. The parallel search with partial solutions at the lower level and the Integrated search with entire solutions at the upper level are carried out simultaneously. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with those of the existing algorithms in terms of convergence and diversity. The optimization problems with continuous variables and discrete variables are used as test-bed problems. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • Scheduling user-submitted cloud tasks to the appropriate virtual machine (VM) in cloud computing is critical for cloud providers. However, as the demand for cloud resources from user tasks continues to grow, current evolutionary algorithms (EAs) cannot satisfy the optimal solution of large-scale cloud task scheduling problems. In this paper, we first construct a large- scale multi-objective cloud task problem considering the time and cost functions. Second, a multi-objective optimization algorithm based on multi-factor optimization (MFO) is proposed to solve the established problem. This algorithm solves by decomposing the large-scale optimization problem into multiple optimization subproblems. This reduces the computational burden of the algorithm. Later, the introduction of the MFO strategy provides the algorithm with a parallel evolutionary paradigm for multiple subpopulations of implicit knowledge transfer. Finally, simulation experiments and comparisons are performed on a large-scale task scheduling test set on the CloudSim platform. Experimental results show that our algorithm can obtain the best scheduling solution while maintaining good results of the objective function compared with other optimization algorithms.

  • This study attempts to supplement what is known about the influence of prior knowledge on second language listening comprehension. To do so, the study examines the effect of prior knowledge and language proficiency on the ability of L2 listeners to understand texts. The purpose of an experiment was to determine the effect of topic familiarity on the L2 listening comprehension ability of subjects who varied in L2 listening proficiency level. The subjects (N=117) were selected from a population of college students enrolled in the Departments of English and Business in Korea. English listening proficiency levels were designated on the basis of TOEFL listening scores. Subjects listened twice each to texts (more familiar and less familiar). After listening to each text, a ten-item objective test was administered to test the subjects' comprehension of the information presented in the text. Objective tests were analyzed. using repeated measures analysis. A post hoc test was conducted to identify the means that were significantly different. This study yielded the following results: (1) subjects with high prior knowledge comprehended texts significantly better than did subjects with low prior knowledge; (2) the level of L2 listening proficiency had a significant effect on the L2 listening comprehension of texts, but there was no interaction between prior knowledge and the level of L2 listening proficiency.

  • PURPOSES : The main purpose of this study is suggest of field bond strength evaluation method for more objective evaluation method through Evaluation of Bond Strength Properties with changing aspect ratio and temperature. METHODS : The evaluation is laboratory bond strength test. Using the core machine, the pull-off test method ; the bond strength test of interface layer the universal testing machine. RESULTS : As a result of the laboratory bond strength evaluation, it was verified that the bond strength by aspect ratio decreases linearly with increasing aspect ratio and the bond strength properties by temperature change existed at high and low temperature condition relative to odinary temperature condition. CONCLUSIONS : According to the results of laboratory bond strength evaluation, the field bond strength evaluation results suggest applying the proposed correction factor (0.8, 1.0, 1.4, 1.9) according to aspect ratio(0.5, 0.1, 1.5, 2.0), For more objective evaluation of the bond strength, it is analyzed that the evaluation value is within $6{\sim}32^{\circ}C$ and the result can be obtained within 5% of the coefficient of variation.
