  • Component-based Software Development(CBSD) supported by both component and reusability can reduce development time and cost, and also can achieve high productivity. To support component reusability systematically domain analysis and design in parallel with CBSD-process is needed. And also it is needed to suggest objective analysis process to fine out commonality and variability in domain, which is lacked in current domain analysis and design method. And to abstract domain component from the information which is well reflected in domain model, and to express it in domain architecture is needed. In this paper, we suggest the method to define, analyze and design domain systematically for enhancing reusability effectively in Component-base Software Development. We abstract components which can be reusable in domain, in other word, which have commonality from requirement analysis level. We sustain and refine them. And we reflect them to the products of each level. From these process, we can produce the domain component which have commonality. On this basis, we can design domain architecture. In this paper, to produce reusable software we investigate new systematic approach to domain analysis and design from the view point of software reusability.

  • This study was to analyze the subject objectives of Middle school 7th grade Science textbooks based on the Korean 7th curriculum by using Klopfer’s taxonomic system and find out how much compatible they were with the requiring objectives of the curriculum. Particularly, this study makes educational objectives for textbooks coherent wit the requiring objectives of the curriculum, through the analysing the problems. The results are follows. The Middle school science educational objective of the 7th curriculum sets up almost of the objectives through all of the domains of the Klopfer’s taxonomy system, except the operational function (Category G.0), and emphasizes on emotionable domain (Category $H.0\~I.0$) more. However, comparing with an encouragement objective rate of NSTA, Middle school Science textbooks based on the 7th curriculum were published putting more importance in a cognitive domain, and the intention objective (Category I.0) was not mentioned.

  • The consistency and balance of objectives by objective domains in units, sub-units and instructional units were investigated. The 6th elementary biology curricular teaching guidebooks were analysed. Domains of objectives are cognitive, inquiry process, instrumental skill, creative, affective and STS. Cognitive objectives were most dominant in all units, sub-units and instructional units. But no objective for creative domain were suggested. In unit and sub-unit, proportions of objectives were cognitive, inquiry process, affective, instrumental skill and STS domains in order. Objectives for cognitive and inquiry process domains were more than others in instructional units, Except cognitive and inquiry process domains, objectives for the others were not consistent in all units, sub-units and instructional units. Especially, the percentages of objectives for affective domain decreased in units, sub-units and instructional units orderly. These resulted from teaching objective domains categorized formally, Thus, it is necessary to develope curriculum and textbook to be consistent and balanced with objective domains and reflect upon the characteristics of them.

  • Infinite element approach has been widely used to analysis soil-structure interaction, in which the soil domain is treated as infinite domain. However, most of the developed infinite element has been formulated in the frequency domain rather than the time domain to include the frequency contents of the earthquake or vibration wave. Due to that, those approaches have a critical limitation which is restricted to the linear elastic analysis. To main objective of this research is to develop the infinite element in the time domain to cooperate the inelastic soil and structure behavior. Developed infinite element is verified with the results of finite element analysis modeled in large domain. The nonlinear analysis also conducted to demonstrate the application of developed infinite element. Hence, based on above-mentioned statements, it can be concluded that the propose approach would assist for structure-seismic design.

  • A large-scale analysis to evaluate complex material and structural behaviors is one of interesting topic in diverse engineering and scientific fields. Also, the utilization of massively parallel processors has been a recent trend of high performance computing. The objective of this paper is to introduce a parallel process system which consists of general purpose finite element analysis solver as well as parallelized PC cluster. The later was constructed using eight processing elements and the former was developed adopting both hierarchical domain decomposition method and balancing domain decomposition method. Then, to verify the efficiency of the established system, it was applied for structural analysis of steam generator in nuclear power plant. Since the prototypal evaluation results agreed well to the corresponding reference solutions it is believed that, after reinforcement of PC cluster by increasing number of processing elements, the promising parallel process system can be utilized as a useful tool for advanced structural integrity evaluation.

  • In order to evaluate the integrity of nuclear power plant components, the analysis based on fracture mechanics is crucial. For this purpose, finite element method is popularly used to obtain J-integral. However, it is time consuming to design the finite element model of a cracked structure. Also, the J-integral should be verified by alternative methods since it may differ depending on the calculation method. The objective of this paper is to develop a three-dimensional elastic-plastic J-integral analysis system which is named as EPAS program. The EPAS program consists of an automatic mesh generator for a through-wall crack and a surface crack, a solver based on ABAQUS program, and a J-integral calculation program which provides DI (Domain Integral) and EDI (Equivalent Domain Integral) based J-integral calculation. Using the EPAS program, an optimized finite element model for a cracked structure can be generated and corresponding J-integral can be obtained subsequently.

  • GPS(Global Positioning System) signal structure uses spread spectrum and the received power is relatively lower than the receiver noise figure. Therefore, it is vulnerable to the RF interferences and it could restrict on the safety navigation. The objective of this paper is to research on the spectral domain GPS interference rejection algorithm using proposed K-median filtering threshold setting method. In the performance test, the proposed algorithm has a relatively higher ISR(interference to signal ratio) compared with the conventional temporal domain technique in case of time variant interference signals.

  • The selection of the optimal position of the flap was performed in order to improve the aerodynamic performance during the take-off and landing processes of aircraft. For this, the existing airfoils of the main wing and flap are selected as the baseline model and the lift coefficients (cl) according to angle of attacks (AOA) were calculated with the change of the position of flap airfoil. The objective function was defined as the consideration of the maximum cl, lift to drag ratio and cl at certain AOA. Then, at 121 experimental points within $20mm{\times}20mm$ domain, two dimensional flow simulations with Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model were performed concerning the AOA from 0 to 15 degree. If the optimal position was located at the domain boundary, the domain moved to the optimal position. These processes were iterated until the position was included in the inside of the domain. From these processes, the flow separation at low AOA was removed and cl increased linearly comparing with that of the baseline model.

  • This study investigated the influence of cultural and general trend of the times on fashion trends and the hybridization of these trends. The objectives of this study were to suggest new approach method of the fashion forecasting and to find out the cultural meanings and values of fashion. Key words that explains fashion trend from spring/summer of 1995 to fall/winter of 2002 were collected from professional fashion trend journals. These terms were analysed with domain analysis based on the semantic relationship. The frequency of their appearance in each season and the aspect of their appearance in each season were analysed. The hybrids of the fashion trends were analysed longitudinally and cross-sectionally as well by investigating the cover terms that were found as a result of domain analysis. The method used in this study can be applied to future study of fashion trend in that it offers an objective view of fashion trend and can allow researchers to study fashion trend in a concrete way.

  • The solution of shape design problems based on variational analysis has been approached by using the domain adaptive method. The objective of the structural shape design is to minimize the weight within a bound on local stress measure, or to minimize the maximum local stress measure within a bound on the weight. A derived optimality condition in both design problems requires that the unit mutual energy has constant value along the design boundary. However, the condition for constant stress on the design boundary was used in computation since the computed mutual energy oscillates severely on the boundary. A two step iteration scheme using domain adaptation was presented as a computational method to slove the example designs of elastic structures. It was also shown that remeshing by grid adaptation was effective to reduce oscillatory behavior on the design boundary.
