Design Patterns for Realizing Object-Oriented Inheritance in EJB Environment (EJB 환경에서 객체지향 상속 관계 설계 패턴)

  • Software development methodology using object-oriented analysis and design techniques for improving productivity and maintainability has acquired a substantial acceptance in both academia and industry as a fundamental paradigm. Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) is widely used in both academia and industry because it provides high unability and rapid application development. EJB supports object-oriented paradigm, but there are several things to consider when designing detail model of object-oriented model or implementing object-oriented model with EJB model. One of them is inheritance problem. In this paper, we classify the types of class inheritance which is shown upon in object-oriented model into three types and identify the problems which can happen when implementing the inheritance mechanism with EJB model. And this paper proposes three patterns for realizing the inheritance in EJB. Moreover, applicable patterns and guidelines for each object-oriented inheritance types for the proposed patterns are suggested.

  • Automation tools for program analysis are needed in order to program understand and maintain, extract the characteristics of object-oriented program such as class name, member function and data member. In this paper, we carried out design and implementation of the automation tool for effective maintenance of object-oriented software. Being based on Reverse Engineering, this approach extracts class relationship information from C++ source code and generates object-oriented model of class diagram using UML as the standard object-oriented methodology. Therefore, this paper provides developers visualized including class information, definitions of classes, inheritance relationships, set relationships, and simple reference relationships. Finally in this paper, we propose a method that construct class relationship information to table in analysis state and make form of table construction to link form so tat developers can perform understanding and maintaining program efficiently. And this method enable to restructure and reuse in object-oriented model.

  • Recently, OOM(Object-Oriented Method) access method which begins to apply to software development is emphasizing development cost and time reduction through independent software reuse. But because of planning to the exclusion of the lack of knowledge and expansion or performance for development technology many problems are coming out. Therefore, this thesis suggests Effective Object-Oriented Modeling methods considering the plan for higher productivity enhancement of software in the software development life cycle. Effective Object-Oriented Modeling method includes, methods, Use Case modeling methods, Analysis Modeling methods, Design Modeling methods and others.

  • Object-Oriented method is a rather difficult one, theories are different as many as they are, and can hardly be found well-applied examples of OOD. So, this paper deal with the history, the needs, the benefits, basic concept of object-oriented design methods, especially the designing procedure which covers from analyzing the requirements, designing the EER(extended entity relationship) model, transforming this model into relational schema, to OODB schema step. Major contributions can be identified; First, the proposed method will ensure that it improve the productivity, increase the software quality, and elevate the maintainability. Second, it provide the framework of how object-oriented schema is constructed for OODB design. Third, suggested realistic case study will enhance the better understanding of how the current business process will be applied to the OODB design step.

  • In this paper, the design and implementation of VODS is described. VODS is an object-oriented database de-sign support system. VODS supports the whole database design steps according to the EOMT(extended OMT). EOMT as an object- oriented database design methodology is deviced by extending the object model of OMT(Object Modeling Technique) for supporting information navigations to manipulate hyperemia objects. Database designers can do the whole design steps by clicking mouse buttons on the appropriate icons or commands from the initial screen mode.

  • This paper proposes The Efficient method that should design Geosensor model based on object oriented design pattern and implement the Geosensor network interface system using JBuilder. Such as geosensor technology will be to a new research paradigm of GIS which can manage a great quantity of field information by means of constructing the real time remote sensing network. The technology that integrates object oriented design pattern Geosensor interface network with GIS will be necessary elements that satisfy the function of GIS increasing day by day. Therefore, we would like to utilize GoF design pattern in order to change for the better object oriented Geosensor middleware. This paper shall contribute to implementing the optimal Geosensor interface that can develop reusable, modular and modifiable software by using the object oriented design pattern.

  • This study presents an application of object-oriented methodology for structural dcsign process. A prototype system of integrated a structural design system is developed by introducing a structural analysis object model(SAOM) and structural design object model(SDOM). The SAOM module. which is modeled as a part of structural member, performs structural analysis using FEM approach and the SDOM module checks structural members based on Korea steel design standard.   • Nowadays an information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged Information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-oriented database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-oriented database is needed. In order to build good quality application systems, modeling is an important first step. In 1997, the OMG adopted the UML as its standard modeling language. Since industry has warmly embraced UML, its popularity should become more important in the future. So a design methodology based on UML is need to develop efficiently XML applications. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for XML applications based on object- oriented database using UML. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-oriented database schema to store efficiently XML data in object-oriented databases.

A Comparative Study on Methods for Implementing VHDL Design Database (VHDL 설계 데이터베이스 구현 방법의 비교 연구)

  • In this paper, we compare several methods for implementing a VHDL design database through a case study on VHDL tool development system. We implemented three versions of the VHDL design database which the VHDL tool development system is based on. The first version was coded in the C programming language following value-oriented paradigm. The second one was coded in the C++ programming language following object-oriented paradigm. The third one was implemented using an existing object-oriented database. Based on our experience, we present quantitatively the pros and cons of each implementation method. The value-oriented version was most difficult to implement but showed good performance. Compared to the value- oriented version, the C++ version was twice as easy to implement and showed about the same performance. Using an existing object-oriented database allowed easiest implementation but resulted in a 1.5 to 6 times slower version.

  • Recently, in organizations many decisions are being made by groups. And the organization is changing a lot so are groups. To help decision making of changing groups, we need more flexible and more adaptive GDSS. Therefore one of the critical success factors of GDSS is flexibility and incremental improvement. Prior research on specifying design requirements of GDSS suggests generic design requirements. But they are too general to be incorporated directly into system design, because of the disparity between real group and ideal group that the researchers studied. Many design strategies that start from the generic design requirements thus have contingency variables that changes as the characteristics of group change. From the viewpoint of developers, these variables implicate the desirability of flexibility. To achieve flexibility we need new methodology of design and implementation. Nowadays, object-oriented analysis and design methodologies have been progressed to the point that many systems are being developed through these methodologies. In this paper, a design is proposed using Object-Oriented Modeling Techniques(OMT). Exploiting object-oriented paradigm results in a highly flexible and easily upgradable design.
