  • We study convergent influence on job burnout(MBI-GS: Maslach Bunout Inventory-General Survey) and its association with Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(OCQ), Type A Behavior Pattern(TABP) and depression(CES-D: Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale) among Hospital Administrative Staff(HAS). The survey was administered to 201 staff from 9 general hospitals located in J area from Jul. 3rd, 2017 to Jul. 29th, 2017. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. MBI-GS was positively correlated with TABP and CES-D, and it was negatively correlated with OCQ. With the analysis of covariance structure, CES-D was more influential on MBI-GS than OCQ and TABP. The study found the higher TABP and CES-D, and the lower OCQ tend to increase MBI-GS. The results indicate that the efforts, to decrease TABP and CES-D, and to increase OCQ, are required to decrease the MBI-GS of HAS. The results are expected to be useful for organization personnel management to decrease the MBI-GS of HAS. In the following study, the analysis about additional factors of influence on MBI-GS will be needed.

  • This study is executed to investigate convergent factors to job burnout(MBI-GS: Maslach Bunout Inventory-General Survey) among hospital administrative staff. The survey was administered to 201 staff from 9 general hospitals located in J area from Jul. 3rd, 2017 to Jul. 29th, 2017. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. The hierarchical multiple regression analysis shows the following results. The MBI-GS of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(OCQ) is lower, a group in which Type A Behavior Pattern(TABP) is higher, a group in which depression(CES-D: Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression scale) are higher. The results show explanatory power of 52.1%. The results are expected to be useful for the program and human resource management to related to the MBI-GS among HAS. In the following study, the analysis of structural equation modeling about additional factors of the MBI-GS among hospital administrative staff will be needed.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to define the effects of relational bonds and professional authority in organizational commitment of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses. Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 200 ICU nurses working in 3 tertiary hospitals. The survey content included the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ), Relational Bond Questionnaire (RBQ) and Schutzenhofer Professional Nurse Autonomy Scale (SPNA). Results: The score for OCQ was 2.59, for RBQ, 3.23, and for SPNA, 2.93. Organizational commitment was related to relational bonds (${\beta}=0.45$; p<.001; SE=0.08). These factors accounted for 21.6% of the variability in organizational commitment. Conclusion: Results indicate that ICU nurses' organizational commitment could be improved through increasing relational bonds and retaining experienced nurses which suggests a need to develop work systems designed to increase and maintain high relational bonds in ICU nurses.

The mean of the MSQ was 49.4 percentile and the OCQ was 54.02 percentile. 2) Nurses' perception of job related empowerment was significantly related to job satisfaction(r=.650, p<.001), and organizational commitment(r=.458, p<.001). And the job satisfaction was related significantly to organizational commitment(r=.426, p<.001). Methods : The sample consisted of 1,220(600 for doctors' strike and 620 for normal periods) nurses working in 5 hospitals. Six instruments were used for data collection including Job Activity Scale(JAS; Laschinger, 1994), Organization Relationship Scale(ORS; Laschinger, 1994), Interpersonal Support Scale(developed by Firth et al., 1986 and revised by Ahn(2000), Self-efficacy Scale(Riggs & Knight, 1994),Job Satisfaction Scale(Slavitts et al., 1978), and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire(OCQ; Mowday et al., 1979). Results : There were significant differences among variables(i.e., formal power, interpersonal support, self-efficacy and organizational commitment)between doctors' strike and normal periods. The formal power was high during the normal period, however interpersonal support, self-efficacy and organizational commitment were high during the doctors' strike. Conclusion : Interpersonal support, self-efficacy and job satisfaction were change by working conditions, but organizational commitment was not changed by working conditions.
