  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze learning satisfaction, critical thinking disposition, learning attitude and motivation between Problem Based Learning and Subjective Based Learning. Method: The research was performed between September and December, 2005 and 2006, including the development of PBL packages and their application. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 13.0. An independent t-test, $X^2$-test, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient were performed to compare the two groups on each of the measures. Result: There were no statistically significant differences among participants in the two groups according to general characteristics. However, The PBL group scored significantly higher on learning satisfaction, critical thinking disposition, learning attitude and motivation. Conclusion: This study contributes to our understanding of student outcomes of the PBL approach compared to the SBL approach. PBL needs to be extended over individual nursing courses for the unification of related courses and a curriculum.

Method: There were seven participants, 4 men and 3 women living in 3 different elderly facilities. The data was collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation from June 20, 1999 to January 10, 2000 and analyzed by the Strauss and Corbin's analysis method. Result: 125 concepts were found and grouped into 30 sub-categories and then grouped into 13 categories. These categories are , , , , , , , , , , , and , which were synthesized into the process of adjustment. being the core category. The adjustment process of the facility elderly consisted of : 1. expressive phase of 'reluctance' 2. control phase of 'reluctance' 3. latent phase of 'reluctance' Conclusion: This study offers better understandings on the adjustment process of the institutionalized elderly and provides more appropriate nursing care to the New Comers of these facilities.

A. transformation of control and knowledge on childbirth and the body 1) refusing coercive medicalization and building a new normality, 2) specific expectations about biological health and maternity rather than a return to nature, 3) the subject of pregnancy and childbirth, B. 'natural childbirth' practice as a new embodied discipline 1) helpers to support mothers, midwives, 2) helping the body to do 'natural childbirth', 3) from isolated labor to cooperative reproduction. • Purpose: This study has investigated experience of middle aged women who attended a self help group to overcome midlife crisis. Methods: To analyze types of experience that middle aged women attending the self help group went through to overcome midlife crisis, Q-methodology has been used. The 32 selected Q-samples from each of 27 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using a QUANL PC program. The 38 selected Q-samples from each of 27 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using a QUANL PC program. Results: The types of experience were classified into four categories; Type I (attempt to change), Type II (devoted to my role), Type III (tolerance and acceptance) and Type IV (role as a senior citizen). Conclusion: This study is significant in that it has attempted to analyze the approach and usefulness of a self-help group program. It is suggestive that a local society support group may be necessary to help people with midlife crisis and further studies for nursing intervention and strategic development are required.

  • Purpose: Rehabilitation nursing requires an interdisciplinary comprehensive team approach that allows for enough time to promote patients' functional recovery. We identified the effects of a nurse-led rehabilitation intervention program on subacute stroke patients' activities of daily living, anger, and muscle strength, as well as their chief caregivers' satisfaction. Methods: Intervention group participants (n = 20) completed a rehabilitation intervention program, which integrated physical activities with psychological and social approaches. Results: The program did not significantly improve patients' activities of daily living or anger management; however, it significantly affected both anger-in (t = 3.384, p = .002) and anger-out (t = 2.167, p = .037) attitudes. Caregivers' satisfaction among the intervention group (t = 6.935, p < .001) decreased more significantly than that of the comparison group (t = 0.224, p = .825). Conclusion: Rehabilitation intervention program should enlist nurses' participation and promote a team-based approach during the rehabilitation program. Further, patients and their caregivers should be encouraged to express their emotions during counseling.

  • Purpose: The remarkable progress in information and communication technology has had a great effect on the healthcare delivery system. The development of smart phone applications is a new field. The aim of our research was to provide assistance in developing smart phone applications for community health nursing. Methods: Based on an informative approach, this study developed persona and site maps, followed by a storyboard as a way of analyzing users' requirements and designing responses in the context of smart phone application development methodology. Results: We developed persona, user interface and database design successfully, and then seven nurses selected four nursing problems (income, residence, pain, and digestion hydration). The search time in seconds for the 2005 English OMAHA guidelines to find three nursing interventions for these problems was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the smart phone application. The results showed that smart phone applications' search was 21 times faster on the average than book guidelines. Conclusion: An English version of the OMAHA system application was developed for the Android smart phone market. It is hoped that smart phone applications such as this will be used internationally for nursing education.

  • Purpose: Recently teaching nursing to undergraduate students has been based on the constructive teaching method to achieve the core nursing competency. Therefore, non-traditional teaching methods should be introduced for a stimulated interaction between the lecturer and students and to increase information retention and interest in nursing. The purpose of this paper was to review current issues related to the use of cinema in nursing education. Method: A literature review was conducted to grasp the definition of cinemeducation and to identify the uses, merits, and demerits of using cinema in nursing education. Conclusion: Cinemeducation is an innovative approach to teaching multi-cultural diversity in medicine and nursing. It is possible to conduct cinemeducation to deepen student's understanding of cross-cultural issues and to evoke imagination, empathy, and narrative. Movies are funny, entertaining, and readily enjoyed by learners. Since individuals portrayed in movies are not real, learners can be more honest and objective about their reactions to these characters. In addition, movies as instructional media are economical. I would like to suggest more curriculum development for the use of movies.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of attribution disposition and self-efficacy on clinical practice competence of nursing students. Methods: A descriptive survey design was used. Participants were 214 nursing students who were collected using a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple stepwise regression via spss win 21.0. Results: The total mean score for attribution disposition was $3.73{\pm}0.46$, self-efficacy was $3.20{\pm}0.42$, and clinical competence was $3.44{\pm}0.47$. Clinical competence is significantly and positively correlated with attribution disposition (r=.179, p=009) and self-efficacy (r=.379, p<.001). In a multivariate approach, predictors included explained 33.5% of variance in clinical competence. Significant predictors of clinical competence were attribution disposition (${\beta}=.245$, p<.001), self-efficacy (${\beta}=.380$, p<.001), and satisfaction with the nursing (${\beta}=.246$, p<.001). Conclusion: Development of an effective intervention program is needed to improve nursing students clinical practice competence, attribution disposition and attribution disposition of nursing students.
